IPhone 4S touchscreen not responding

I am finding that my touchscreen often is not responding, particularly on certain letters when texting such as "a" & "w"...but it will also not respond when I touch the text icon to begin texting. It's driving me nuts.

Standard troubleshooting steps are as follows:
Power your iPhone off and on.
No change, try a reset which is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release. A reset is similar to a computer restart and does not affect any data or settings.
No change, restore your iPhone from your iPhone's backup.
No change, restore your iPhone as a new iPhone or not from the backup.
If no change after the last step, more than likely your iPhone has a hardware problem. The iPhone includes a one year warranty.

Have you tried rebooting the iPad?

Suddenly it works again for some days.

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
If that doesn't help Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

Touchscreen not responding

After about 3 weeks of use my Exite 10SE stoped responding to the touchscreen. I tried holding down the power button and rebooting it. It boot up fine, the OS is running, I can see the icons in the bottom right connecting to wifi and downloading email, the time and date is updating but I can not unkock it to do anything, it doesn't respond to any touch. The only thing I can think of before sending it back is to have the power drain. Could take days to do that. Anything else I can do?

At that point you use the volume rocker and power button to select your choice. If you try the out-of-box and it still doesn't work, it may require servicing.

So I was drunk the other weekend and my ipod fell out of my pocket into my yard where it rained before I found it the next day. The ipod is charging and the everything seems to be fine but my touchscreen doesn't respond. Should I send it in?

the touchscreen of my 3rd gen ipod touch, for no reason i can think of, has decided to stop working. It still plays music and responds to voice commands, and the screen display works, but doesnt respond to touch. Any sugestions????

My iphone has froze up the touchscreen isnt respodning the phne is locked and i carnt swipe the unlock button to use the phone i have restored the phone but to no joy it still remains locked

Since the Restore did not fix the problem it is most likely hardware. If there is Warranty or AppleCare make Genius reservation and take to Apple for resolution. If no coverage then possibly, the Digitizer Flex Connector to the Logic Board may have come loose and simply needs to be pressed back down. Or the Digitizer is faulty and the entire front screen assembly of the iPhone needs to be replaced. Or the Logic Board is faulty and there is really no fix.

Ipod touchscreen not responding near edges

Hello all,
The touchscreen on my ipod touch 5th Gen. requires several tries when touching an icon near the edges of the screen. I mainly notice this trying to touch small icons near the bottom edge.
Is this to be expected or should I ask for warranty service?

First make sure the screen if clean.
Try the following to rule out a software probem.:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Lanovo A2109 ideaPad touchscreen not responding

hi ,
im using this tablet for almost 2 month now , until today it was fine . and this morning it did work fine too , but this afternoon i turn it on and then the touch screen didnt resopnd to anything .
i wanted to turn it off but i cant turn it off without pressing OK to the massage that shows in the screen .
what can i do ?
i didnt do anything special to cause this ,
didnt update or install anything .
and i barely used it in the last 3 days .

I’m sorry to hear that the Touch screen is not working as expected in your A2109 even after performing factory reset, this issue seems to be software related as the issue re-occurred after installing the apps. I would Strongly Suggest Calling Technical Support for Assistance to get the information of the nearest Authorized Service Center to get the issue analyzed if the issue is hardware related or not.

HT1414 parts of the touchscreen not responding

Certain parts of the touchscreen don't respond

Fixed.
The wheel needs to be flush with the metal jacket in order to have room for the clicker to depress. One side of the wheel was stuck under the jacket. A fairly sharp whack against my palm with the edge of the wheel that was working momentarily pulled the depressed side of the wheel from under the jacket and allowed it to pop out flush.

Having real issues with my iPod touch 5th gen touchscreen not responding when it's on charge. Parts of the screen go dead or need several taps etc. Tried removing case etc. made sure I'm using included charger and directly to the mains not on an extension. Is it faulty?

Some other users have reported same problem. I have not heard of a resolution. You can try:
- Using another cable
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
