How many Photos do you Have/ Ram question
Just finished setting up our new 20" Intel Core Duo. Still only have the stock 512mb ram with a gig stick on order.
Just imported 37,000 photos into iphoto 6 and being a iphoto newbie was wondering if the performance lag is the intel core duo, the ram, or the size of our library.
I just found out about iphotobuddy. Might be a good option so we dont have to load the entire library at app launch. I also think the additional RAM will help out too.
Anyone have 100,000 photos and running smoothly on a core duo?

I don't have a lot of albums. There's no one-to-one correspondence between photos and albums, so I choose not to use them as my main organizational scheme. I prefer working in Library view, where I do get each photo once and only once. (I use V6 Film Rolls, which is the same as Events in '08.) When importing photos, I place them in my most recent, current roll (event) or begin a new one. Then I keyword all of the new photos, and they're good to go. Working chronologically makes sense to me, and I pretty much remember where my photos are. In addition, I can find any photo or group of photos in my library by filtering by keywords and date.
I use albums for special collections and projects. I have some smart albums for the best photos of my kids' birthdays. I gather photos into albums to prepare for printing. I also create albums for the purpose of adding slideshows to my home movies in iDVD, and to use as title frames in iMovie.
That's just my system; it works for me. iPhoto is so flexible and powerful that in time you'll find one that works for you.

Hi all!
I recently got ahold of Logic Pro, and I'm loving how it works, but I have a question about the Orchestra template.
I used to use an application for making music that was done using normal music sheets, and to input notes, you would type in the letter on your keyboard corrosponding to the music scale of A, B, C, D, E, F, and G, with the ability to use arrow keys to move it up and down. Is there a way to do that in Logic Pro?

There are a lot of posts in the forums today with people having problems with iMessage. There was also a published outage yesterday, so it's possible there are still some issues that may be impacting you both.

You need to buy a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD. Check that the computer meets the system requirements for it first.

I upgraded to IOS 6, I am unable to get into my Yahoo mail. It accepts pw, and pops up and tells me how many e-mails I have and then goes right back to the sign on screen. verified that I can get in from laptop & wireless is functioning.any suggestions?

In a word, yes. In a little more detail.... When you restore from an iCloud backup, you must erase the device and start all over again. There is no other way to access the backup in iCloud without erasing the device. Consequently, you are starting all over again. If the documents are not in the backup, and you do not have a backup elsewhere, the documents could be gone forever. -

10.5 - 10.6 installation instructions (wipe and installmethod)
Make certain you have backed up your vital data ontoanother drive or cd/dvd's before proceeding.
Disconnect all other drives, hold c and boot offthe 10.5 disk that came with your computer (free iLife included), andselect Disk Utility from the Utilities menu, selecting your internaldrive,Erase> Format HFS+ Journaled > Security Option > ZeroAll Data >Ok (wait for a hour or so)
When it's finished, Quit Disk Utility and your back into the OS XInstaller, install OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Once that's finished, reboot and do the setup like a new machine.
When that's done and your in, stick in the OS X 10.6 disk and runthe installer to upgrade you to 10.6 Snow Leopard.
When that's done, do a Software update. We are at 10.6.8 now.
(note: if you don't have the 10.5 disk that came with yourcomputer, then repeat steps above with the 10.6 disk. Retail OS Xdisks you don't get the free iLife, it's a separate purchase. iLifecomes free on 10.4, 10.5 and 10.6 install disks that come with thecomputer only.)

Your MacBook is using the big screen as the Presenter Display, and the MacBook Air display as the Show display. Tap the 'x' key to swap them during the show.

I'm sorry I thought I was already doing that lol. Ok so I paid for more storage for my iCloud which was $3.99 but I'm releaizing that im going to have pay the $27.99 payment to get what I want I guess. So I would like to know if that payment can be stopped or forward to the other $27.99 payment I'll be making. Where are magic mouse gestures in iPhoto?
Before lion upgrade, a two finger swipe would allow you to switch between photos in iPhoto '11. This no longer seems to be the case. Any thought on how to enable this (similar to the new gesture in Safari, one finger swipe to go back or fwd).
