HT201407 What if the holder is dead

How do you activate if the holder is dead

Try going to an Apple Store and see if they can help (probably best to make a Genius Bar appointment) - you will possibly need a copy of the death certificate and proof that the iPad is now yours.
If there isn't an Apple Store nearby then you could try contacting iTunes Support and see if they can help : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page

  • What is the hold up on the iPhone 6 plus?

    I preordered and so did a coworker of mine. She ordered through AT&T. What's the hold up Verizon? Do I need to take my business to AT&T?

    Carriers have different stock and receive shipments on different schedules.
    If this is something that is getting you upset, then by all means go to AT&T. You must do what you think is best for you.
    Note: it is only a cell phone not the end of the world!
    Good Luck

  • What is the hold up on these Drive

    Hey Guys, I think I never would do this to Creative, but I think they should get all the bashing they deserve. What is the hold up on these Drivers for Vista. I have a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS and I don't see any progress on this sound card drivers at all. Why are they taking so long. Vista is already out and Creative is still using the beta drivers. I am really getting pissed of at Creative. I am planning to build a new system this year and I am going to think twice before I put in a another Creative Product in my system. If they can't provide drivers on time, then I don't see why I need to continue to buy their products. This is just my opinion. P.S. Fusion (Pissed?Of Guy)?

    Your complaint has been noted, but we've already discussed this. Look at the official threads for statements from Cat.
    In the meantime, no posting threads encouraging anyone to bash anyone else, thank you.

  • What is the "hold" next to an album

    I just installed ilife '08 and have a "hold" icon next to an album. when I mouse over it it makes a weird red sort of button.
    what does this mean and how do I get rid of it?

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
    What it means is a "feature" that was dropped in the later builds of iPhoto. Run software update and update iPhoto and it will go away.

  • Now what's the hold up

    ok so i finally got my graphics card delima solved - put in new order w/quadro - everything was going smooth 3-5 days then the bluetooth/airport * WHAM * 2-3 weeks - what gives ?

    Sounds like the BT/Airport card is back ordered.
    I decided to wait it out, I have my order in and its projected to ship out near the end of september, no use in complaining about it. If apple could ship it out sooner don't you think they would?
    This is one of those situations where it pays to be patient.

  • What's the hold up Adobe?

    When will flash player and other awesome programs that Adobe offers Android and Apple phones be available for Windows phone?

    Flash Player has never been available on iOS and we have recently discontinued development for the Android platform.  What specific feature are you looking for from Adobe for your Windows phone?

  • What is the policy for dead pixel or stuck pixel in apple store?

    Hi, i'm the new mac user here. I never use the MAC. I just bought it 2 day ago at apple store. I'm so happy when i carry it back to my home. When I turn on my macbook, I think to get 1 DOT bad pixel on my screen......Oh..Is it my fault??? I just bought it and i didn't do anything....I would like to exchange and try to tell the reason that is not my fault..COZ "THIS ITEM IS DEFECT"...I asked the stuff overthere. If i would to return or exchange, I have to pay 10% off restock fee..coz i had already open box. How's come I have to pay it? How can i know is defect or not if i didn't open the box. I just bought it 2 day agos. Is it fair for me?? I'm so upset with apple a lot. I have to take it back and put in front of me and see that dot in the next 3 year.......or as long as this mac gone.
    My question, How u can fix it out for this policy? Do u agree for this policy?
    Macbook   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

    I had to return my first MacBook for a worse defect. They wanted to hit me with the restocking fee. I called the manager of the Apple Store I went to over and spoke with him. I explained the same thing to him that you stated here...Why should I be penalized for something I couldn't have known about with opening the box. I told him that I want to exchange it for a new one and I would not agree to paying the fee for that. However, I will agree to pay the fee to return it and purchase it from another retailer with a better return/exchange policy. He exchanged it on the spot, no fee.
    My point...plead your case and explain that you are not going to pay a restocking fee for an exchange. Be professional about it. I'm confident you can make it happen.
    You may also want to call Apple first. They can sometimes override the store and direct them to exchange it for you.

  • No update yet? What's the hold up?

    I am a very patient man when it comes to alot but I am beginning to lose it over the simple fact that I can't get my updates to my Note 3 as fast as other carriers. I'd be more comfortable if I knew why vs waiting in the dark. It's very frustrating!

    Don't worry, you aren't the only one. It'll probably take Verizon losing a few hundred thousand customers over usual before they even consider pumping out updates faster. They just make too much on pre-loading Android OS with gigs of adware you can't remove on a phone that you pay for. Like printing your own money.
    Why care about customers complaining about an OS update? They signed a contract. Nothing to worry about for now.
    Meanwhile, T-Mobile, AT&T have a lot to gain by offering things Verizon doesn't - paying customers. And again, Verizon won't give a **** until they start losing a noticeable % of paying customers. So, don't expect a change anytime soon. Best you can do is vote with your wallet $$$.

  • I dropped my iphone 5 in the water, its dead and when I try to charge it the apple logo comes and goes, thats my only sign of life, I've done many after market repairs but what I want to know is if I should replace the ligntning port or the battery

    I dropped my iphone 5 in the water, its dead and when I try to charge it the apple logo comes and goes, thats my only sign of life, I've done many after market repairs but what I want to know is if I should replace the ligntning port or the battery... or just buy a galaxy s5?

    If you dropped it in water, and then plugged it in, you may very well have destroyed the battery and/or the logic board.  Charging/plugging in to a power source is very damaging to wet electronic devices.  There is not much you can do but replace the entire iPhone...and since you did repairs yourself Apple will not do an out-of-warranty replacement.
    You can try replacing the battery, the lightning port is another issue, but I would not expect that iPhone to work again.

  • What's the maximum size of data a coherence cluster can hold?

    What's the maximum size of data a coherence cluster can hold before it starts noticing a degradation in performance?
    Assume a partitioned topology is used with only one backup for each partition.

    Hi,
    Coherence partitioned cache is designed for linear scalability and it does it quite well. I don't see any reasons of performance degrations with increase in data size given, you have enough cores and memory for processing the requests and managing the data.
    Cheers,

  • What's the maximum size a varchar2  variable can hold for and NDS Stmnt?

    What's the maximum size a varchar2 variable can hold for and NDS Statement? I read that NDS is good for doing EXECUTE IMMEDIATE on statements that aren't too big. The 10g PL/SQL manual recommends using DBMS_SQL for statements that are too large, but it never gave a limit for what too large was. Does anyone know offhand?

    The limit is the same as the length of varchar2 variable within PL/SQL - that is varchar2(32767).It's not documented, but intermediate concatenation result can hold up to (64k-1) :
    Connected to:
    Oracle9i Enterprise Edition Release 9.2.0.8.0 - Production
    declare
      part1 varchar2(32767) := rpad('begin null;', 32767);
      part2 varchar2(32767) := lpad('end;',        32767);
    begin
      dbms_output.put_line(length(part1 || ' ' || /*' ' ||*/ part2));
      execute immediate part1 || ' ' || part2;
    end;
    65535
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.

  • What is the behavior of items in an Exchange Online Inactive mailbox that were under a Litigation Hold for a set period of time.

    I am specifically asking what happens to the items in an Inactive Mailbox that was placed on Litigation Hold prior to Deletion when the Litigation Hold has say a '6 mo.' Retention Period assigned.
    Do any of those items 'expire' out of the mailbox?  Do only the items in the 'Admin' folders of the Deleted Items get removed, or none?
    I am not asking about recoverability of that mailbox, more of what the behavior is specifically when the Litigation Hold is set to expire after a certain amount of time.

    There is no expiration, check the blog post here:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/exchange/archive/2013/03/21/preserve-mailbox-data-for-ediscovery-using-inactive-mailboxes-in-exchange-online.aspx
    All content in an inactive mailbox is on hold until you remove the hold from the mailbox.

  • So iWeb is dead? what is the next best thing for a beginner?

    Hi Guys,
    I have my new Mac and i want to build my first website....with iWeb dead, what is the next best web builder for a beginner like me...? I want to creat a blog add the odd photo and link to my twitter page. Thats about it.....any suggestions?
    Many thanks
    Ian

    Are you saying that you have an iWeb blog hosted on a 3rd party ftp server which allows visitors to add comments? That would be a first since the following has always been part of iWeb's Help file:
    Features Unavailable When Publishing to a 3rd Party Server:
    ◼ Password protection
    ◼ Blog and photo comments
    ◼ Blog search
    ◼ Hit counter
    The following is a screenshot of  iWeb Help on publishing to an ftp server:
    Currently if the site is published directly from iWeb to the 3rd party server the RSS feed and slideshow subscription features will work. However, if the site is first published to a folder on the hard drive and then uploaded to the sever with a 3rd party FTP client those two feature will be broken.

  • My new ipod classic does not work anymore! The music stopped and the display is dead. What now, besides calling support?

    My new ipod classic does not work anymore! The music stopped and the display is dead. What now, besides calling support? Useless to say my PC didn't recognize the Ipod anymore either.

    Anton, I wish I could help. I had an old iPod Classic (60 KB) as a gift but it went dead, I dropped it a few times accidentally, and it sat carefully saved until I had sufficient resources, energy and time to get the matter addressed. In my case, I actually took the thing (after making sure it was charged) to an Apple store and one of the geniuses at the genius bar at the back of the store took it and did a few things (unseen and un-noted) with his fingers and handed it to me with a sly smile. Voila, the thing was functional. I got a re-functionalized iTunes account and store access when I bought my iMac. I did lose a few tunes along the way because it didn't recognize my new iMac as the source (my old dead PC laptop), but I have a more functional memory than the iPod and recovered them all in other ways. The whole thing is humming better than ever. At over 11 gb full, I have 4.2 days worth of portable listening. Be patient; it took me four years to get musical nirvana in a pocket, but you'll get there faster. Call support.
