so I tried that link you posted, i tried connecting it to a wall plug and it turned back on but there's no signal. it just says searching and the wifi isn't working, as in, it doesn't give me the option to turn on the wifi... also, when i disconnected it from the wall plug it died again and didn't turn back on (despite the battery being 100%)..
This is really odd because I had the battery replaced last month...
I still don't know what to do.. it won't respond when I connect it to my laptop to restore it either!!
It's sad that I'm so dependent on my phone but I feel so helpless without it!

If it is a windows computer, you can (sometimes) connect your phone to your computer. Go to Start > Computer and click your device and import photos. You can also do that if the popup box appears when you connect the device to your computer. This will help you save your photos and videos to your computer and not lose them in the event that you have to completely restore your iPhone

I purchased iPhone 5 for Virgin Mobile USA 2 months ago. This morning while checking weather app it just died. The phone has no water damage and was never dropped. I tried every single trick that I know and I could research online to bring it back but no success:
I left it charging for about 3 hours, and tried to boot it up but nothing. I tried to hold power and home button for 30 sec then just power then just home buttons but nothing. I tried to toggle the mute/vibe button 2, 3, 4 times and hold home and power button but nothing again. The only thing I didn't try is to connect it to a computer with iTunes since I'm on vacation and didn't bring my laptop with me. Basically by now I just gave up on it. Does anybody know any other ways that I don't list above? Will Apple Store replace it for a new one right on the spot or will I have to wait for them to send me one? How does that work? Would they have a brand new Virgin Mobile USA iPhone in the store?

Nothing works Tonefox believe me. It doesn't take apple genius to hold one button or the other or both at once until the logo appears. The phone is dead! If you know something no one else knows on this apple forum please share it, otherwise don't waist my time.

I had problems with the battery on my old iPhone 4S which i had to get rid because the battery was not working and i feel i'm back to this battery problem again.

Hard boot doesn't help, could it be the battery that is dead? I had to charge it 5 times a day for some weeks before it died..
It won't charge, or connect to iTunes, and since it had to be charged 5 times a day for it to make it through ONE day, I'm thinking that it might be that the battery is just 100% dead..

I have tried hard Boot by holding the home and powerbutton for 15 sec and more, and tried charging it in the wall for 1 hour and tried again, still nothing..

but before jumping conclusions change the battery..only takes 2 minutes need a pentalobe scredriver for the two bottom screws phillips microdriver and a 10dollar battery, the screwdrivers are like 5 dollars and in some cases they will come with the battery (ebay)!

Assuming your iPhone is well charged, place it in recovery mode as described here. You may have to try this more than once to succeed.

My iphone 5s just died managed to get it working but will it happen again?

My iphone 5s was working fine went and plugged it in to my charger went out the room when i came back my phone was completely dead, it didnt respond to me pressing any of the buttons or plugging it in to my computer.
After we looked online we found a fix of turning the silent button on and off twice then holding down the power and home button which at first didnt seem to have any effect but after a minute the iphone booted up.
I would like to know if this is going to continously happen or is this just a hiccup?

When considering what may have caused this catestrophic occurence one may be quick to be looking at the apps currently running on your device. The first thing I would recommend you do would be to call apple support at 1800MYAPPLE and ask a IOS advisor to do a diagnostic on your iphone. The diagnostic will give you needed feedback regarding possible application corruption. IF there is corruption you would then need to know which applications were causing the corruption and then it would be a simple matter of deleting these apps - redownloading the same apps and voila back on your way!
In response to your refrenced question. NO this is not expected behavior of your device. The device IS VERY expensive and with a careful bit of maintenance(app corruption) and a 'lttle bit' of luck you should be fine with your dveice in the futuer.

My IPhone 3GS just died, it stopped Vibrating a few days ago and now it won't charge.

About a month ago, my IPhone 4 got stolen so I replaced it with an old 3GS. The 3GS was working perfectly fine up until about 3 days ago when it stopped vibrating on silent. I checked the settings and it said that the vibrate was on so it was for sure not working. I shut it off and on and the problem still continued. Then today, I came home from a party and plugged my phone in the charger because it had low battery. The phone wouldn't charge so I tried using 5 more different chargers and sources around my house. By the time I had done this my phone was dead and won't turn on. I have tried cleaning out the charging part and the piece that goes in and multiple other things I've read but nothing seems to be working. Any suggestions?

"I drop the phone a lot" That pretty much answers your own question. Sounds like hardware damage which requires evaluation by Apple or an independent repair center. You might consider a rugged case such as the Otterbox Defender.

My iPhone just died...

I received an eMail, hearing the tone i picked up the phone and pressed the home button, as i have many many times in the past, to wake it up so i can check said eMail.
Well, the screen stays blank, nothing happened, i pressed the sleep/wake button, still nothing.
I plugged it into the power, as i do to charge my phone, usually getting the charge screen.
Then i plugged it into my Mac, and iTunes, But still nothing.
It would seem that my iPhone4 is dead (RIP).
But i'm wondering if this is a known issue, and that my phone will be resurrected all by itself, because right now. I have no mobile phone.

iPhone 3Gs just died mid-text about 2hrs ago and it scared the sh**t out of me! Now it's back to life after a "hard" re-start. Press and hold the top right restart button and the home button (bottom center) at the same time for roughly 7-10 seconds and it should (hopefully) turn on!

It was at about 90% battery at the time because I had just recently charged it so I don't think it died because of low battery. I have tried plugging it into outlets and computers/iTunes and nothing seems to work. I also can't do the trick involving holding down the power and home button because my power button has been jammed for over a year now. My iPhone is about 2 years old and I have never had this problem before. Earlier today it died for no reason but when I plugged it in, it turned on with no problem.

You'd be better off just syncing your phone to the computer you've sync'd your old phone with, just make sure you use the same user account.
