- all of a sudden today when we turn on the tv, apple tv is not coming up- just the itunes logo and a picture of a usb cable. What is wrong?
Welcome to the Apple Community.
Get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Source list, and then click Restore. -

I tried to update my ipod touch. When I did I got an itunes icon and a picture of a usb plug. I cannot do the update due to not having enough memory or backing up my ipod. Do you know how I can get this off my screen, so I can back up my ipod?
As fas as I know once that screen comes up you must connect it to your computer and restore with iTunes

Firefox is simply unresponsive when I try to save a page as a bookmark, I have tried clicking the star in the URL bar, using ctrl-D, right clicking on the page, and saving from the bookmarks tab. None of these options do anything at all.
I have tried turning off different add ons but have not had any success. The only time I can get it to save a bookmark is if I bookmark my homepage, then it will save that, but nothing else. This can be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

I can move curser across screen on track board but cannot open anything ,even if I push the enter key..also the bottom corner of battery pack where it locks in is slightly lifted. It turns on and off , gets mail but nothing else as I can not open any program. Including about my Mac.. I was using snow leopard.

Phone appears under "devices," but nothing else shows up
Hi,
I restored my 3g iPhone after having difficulty upgrading to 2.1. Now, the phone works fine, but I can't do anything with it in iTunes 8.0 (such as sync it with my old backup). The phone appears under "devices," but nothing happens when I click it there.
What do I do?Googling for the du vs df gives a lot of links. Here is some info from ext3 FAQ (I guess it applies to ext4 too):
The standard cause for this is some user process keeping a deleted file open. When this happens, the space is not visible via 'du', since the file is no longer visible in the directory tree. However, the space is still used by the file until it is deallocated, and that can only happen once the last process which has the file open either closes its file descriptor to the file, or the process exits. You can use the lsof program to try to find which process is keeping an open file. Usually it's some log file, or some large data base file which gets rotated out, but some older process are still keeping the log file open.
This is a longer article giving some more reasons, and says that du is more accurate than df.
EDIT: But the difference is seriously huge in your case!

My new iphone 4S camera is not functioning. When I click the phone icon, the shutter appears. Then the screen only shows the shutter. When I go back to the home screen and click the phone icon again. The photo screen only shows a black screen. The button to take photos is locked the entire time. I've turned the phone on and off several times.
Basic troubleshooting steps outlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new. Have these ALL been tried?

My Iphone froze while I was updating my OS
Hello,
My Iphone 3G froze while is was upgrading the OS installed on it. Even when i restart my phone the "Connected to Itunes" logo appears. I have even tried to hold home and sleep button for 10 seconds with no results.
I've also tried reinstalling Itunes, but the Iphone doesn't appear.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. My 2g, and 3GS have crashed every time on updates on XP, vista, and win7. The restore usually doesn't work the first time or 2 until you've rebooted the computer once or twice. I even had to create a second user on the computer, load a separate itunes on it to get it to restore(with apple guy walking me through it) then switching to my normal user and backing up to the phone. Really wastes a ton of time.

My iPad 4 128 Gb froze when it was updating to iOs8. Help
My iPad fourth generation with 128 GB with latest working iOs 7 software started installation of iOs 8 and froze in black display with apple icon, I tried restart by simultanous pressure on home button and upper button but no response just apple icon disappear for a while and return again. when connected to my Mack Pro to start resetting it does not appear on iTunes. So if any one can help?
FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note:
1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.
3. Repeat the process if necessary. -
While downloading an ITunes upgrade, my IPad froze. All I see is the ITunes logo and pic of a USB cable on my screen. Tried to hold down the wake button while connecting the USB cable to override it but no results. Still frozen with ITunes logo. Any thoughts or suggestions?
Force your iPad into Recovery Mode
1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times. -
