I changed a setting "sort by artist" and now the app won't launch. How do I restore it?

Close the Music app in the Task Bar and re-launch.
Double-click the Home button to reveal Task Bar. Hold Music app down for a second or two; tap the minus sign to close app.
If it still doesn't work, try a reset.
Hold the Sleep and Home button down (together) for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the red slider.

Thanks to Dave Sawyer for posting information about re-downloading an app which has been deleted. I deleted the app from iTunes. Then, when I synched, iTunes asked me if I wanted the items on my ipod touch copied back into iTunes. I said yes and then synched.
Readdledocs is now working again. It is no longer frozen. However, I have learned my lesson. I will download only pdf's from now on. I don't think it works so well with epub files. The text reflow feature of Readdledocs is exactly what I need to use for my work documents on my ipod touch.

Uh-oh. Sounds like we need to get on the job and solve the case of the missing app store icon. With that said, I've got you covered.
Right off the bat, there are a couple of different ways we can do this. First, let's start things off simple. Go to settings > general > restrictions. If restrictions are enabled, toggle "Installing Apps" back on. Did the app store reappear? If not, no worries. Next, go to settings > general > reset > reset home screen layout. How did thing work out this time? Hopefully well. If neither of these steps worked, please let me know when the icon first disappeared and if it coincided with any changes. I look forward to it!

Hi, I recently installed itunes on my PC. I downloaded a game app and it is showing in the main "apps" screen, but unfortunately I can not run or start the app. clicking on it does not open or do any thing.

Apps downloaded via iTunes will be for iDevices only. They will not run on a computer.

Natively-installed apps cannot be deleted or removed in iOS.
Are you sure it didn't accidentally get moved to a different screen, or placed into a folder?

When restarting FF only the last window of app tabs is opened. All others appear lost. Is there a way to save each window of app tabs to a desktop icon for eg. and use the name as the Icon label? Or in Bookmarks "Restore all windows with App Tabs"

Tap on the id in Settings > Store and log out of it and then log in with your id. But if there is any content on the iPad from his account then you are probably better off resetting back to factory defaults via Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content And Settings and starting 'as new' with it - content is tied to the id that bought/downloaded it so your account won't be able to download updates to any of his apps, and unless his account is authorised on your computer's iTunes and his content is on there then it will be deleted when you sync to it.

Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. That same switch, right above the volume buttons, can also be set to function instead as a mute button to silence certain types of audio.
If the switch is set to work as a mute button, you can change its purpose to “screen-rotation lock” by tapping the Settings icon on the home screen. On the Settings screen, tap General on the left side, and on the right side of the screen flick down to “Use Side Switch to.” Tap to select Lock Rotation or Mute to set the button’s function. Even if you set the side switch for your preferred use, you can still mute the Mini or lock the screen. Just double-click the Home button, and when the panel of apps appears along the bottom edge of the screen, flick the row from left to right with your finger. What this effectively does is to reset some of your Settings to factory default. It’s not a complete removal of settings. Apps downloaded through iTunes will only run on iOS devices such as iPhones, iPod Touch, and iPads. Plug your device into your computer, open iTunes, and click on it in the bar either at the top or the left side. Then, click apps at the top, and click install next to the app you want installed.
If you are looking for apps to run on your Mac, you need to download them through the Mac App Store, not through iTunes.

There's a menu choice (I think under "Files") that lets you sync purchased items on a device back to itunes. Look for that.
iCloud does not store music. If you want to do that you'd have to subscribe to itunes Match, but to get music to the match servers, you need the music in the itunes library on your computer.
