While it could be a hardware problem (if so, take it to Apple for replacement), it is also a common sign that your attempted baseband update, (or hack) did not apply correctly. Whether it is reparable is not something for discussion on these forums.

Taken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. Head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "Apple Application Support", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
If no joy after that, try the more rigorous uninstall/reinstall procedure from the following post. (Although the procedure is for Vista and 7 and you've got XP, just read "Computer" as "My Computer", read "Uninstall a program control panel" as "Add or Remove programs control panel" and assume the system is 32-bit, and you'll be doing the right things.)

My phone fell in water for literally an nano second. Got it out and while the phone was wet, it started wo issue.i placed it in bowl with rice and since then I have been recieving a imei and iccid: unknown screen. I did a bit of research and someone suggested to connect to I tunes and restore. My phone show s that it is updating and installing software. However, my phone is now flashing on and off for several seconds. What's going on? Any ideas out there??

Phone was not updated on time so it automatically shuts off and you get a plain black screen until it is recovered and updated. Well when i did the update and recovery I received an error. I went through the steps to fix the error, I had to restart my computer and now the phone isnt recognized on my computer or in itunes. The screen is still completely black so pushing the home button and plugging in to computer still does nothing. Device manager shows nothing in usb port, and apple mobile device software is installed and running. Any help?

Does anyone know how to get in touch with iCloud support directly? All iCloud support roads lead to CPU tech support. My stolen MBP finally came online and gave a location but I didn't check my email for a couple days, was sick, and iCloud only displays location map for 24 hours. Desperatly trying to regain the location info. I live in a small town so location info might actually lead to the recovery of my baby.

Try:
- Powering off and then back on your router.
- iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
- Change the DNS to either Google's or Open DNS servers
Public DNS — Google Developers
OpenDNS IP Addresses
- For one user uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes resolved the problem
- Try on another computer/network
- Wait if it is an Apple problem

IPhone 4 went to update in iTunes, error message popped up and now iTunes refuses to recognize the phone

The other day my iMesasges stopped working so I plugged my phone into my laptop (windows) to update through iTunes. I tried to update it, but when the update was almost done an error message popped up. Now the phone will only turn on with the plug into itunes picture on the screen. iTunes will not recognize the phone -- I turned my laptop off multiple times. I've done all of these, even trying a different USB port, and still, nothing. This is really confusing. Windows 8.1 said something to do with USB malfunction or something and nothing works. I need to restore my iPhone quickly and nothing has happened. My cable is not genuine Apple product. iTunes makes the noise that it makes when I connect the device, but it doesn't say 'iPhone is in recovery mode' or even say 'iPhone' in the corner. I am really fed up and would really appreciate a response.

Welcome to the Apple Community Tarskforce.
Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. Networks that have inherent issues can be seen to work differently with different versions of the same software. You might also try moving the Apple TV away from other electrical equipment.

I have a problem. I updatet to 5.0 and then Itunes can not find the phone and on the screen on the phone there are only a picture of an usb cabel and a logo for Itunes.
