HT201412 Overall reliability do my ipad has gone down. Any way to improve or do I look elsewhere?
Basically, my ipad used to be rock solid but now I have hangs, reboots, froozen videos, periods of unresponsiveness, videos that get stuck downloading and need to restart.
Is there anything I can do or is the new state of the software? I know how to terminate apps and reboot it but it just happens too often and I don't want to deal with it.
Report it to the school authorities and hope for the best.
Change your iTunes (Apple ID) password along with any other password that was stored in the iPod. If any passwords are associated with credit cards, contact the CC company and get your card replaced (with a new number). If any passwords are associated with your bank or any savings institution, contact them also and discuss approprate action with them.
The "Find my..." function is pretty much useless if the device is in the hands of a thief. All that is necessary is for the thief to connect to any computer with iTunes and "Restore as new."
The only real protection you have is with the personal information on the device rather than the physical device itself. Something as small as an iPod should have a strong 8-digit (or longer) password AND be configured for automatic wipe in the event of ten consecutive incorrect password entries.

My Ipad has gone dead for over 24 hours now and I can not figure out what went wrong and how to wake it up. Apparently I assisted a friend to set up his new Ipad2 on my laptop, and don't know whether that was the reson for this serious crash?? Please help
Hold down on the sleep button and the home button at the same time for about 10 seconds or so until the Apple logo appears on the screen. Then let go of the buttons. Ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen.
See if the iPad will restart by doing this. -

Please tell me that it has NEVER been jailbroke. If it has not been jailbroke, here are some standard repair procedures:
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again. Also, read this. -

Reset the device:

We had to reset the iPad mini because it had been disabled. Reset was successful, but now all photos and videos seem to be gone. Any way to get them back?
If you don't have an icloud or itunes backup, the answer is an unfortunate no. If you do have a backup, you could restore the backup, which would possibly recover your camera roll.

Everytime i come back to mac connection has gone down!
Every time I come back to my imac, the airport connection has gone down.
I go up through the airport menu in the menu bar and simply reconnect it to my network which is always there in the menu.
It's not a massive problem I know, but fairly irritating all the same. What is causing it to reconnect all the time? It never disconnects when I'm using it, only when I'm not using it.
I've been using airport for over a year and I've never had this problem.
My ISP (ntl in the UK) has recently been taken over by Virgin and the problems seem to have started around the same time. Could this just be a coincidence, is it a problem their end, or is it some setting on my mac that's been changed by mistake by my small kids?!?
I've got 'interference robustness' checked and I'm pretty sure it's not an interference issue as nothing has changed in the room since this problem began.
Thanks in advance....

How come the FTTC speed estimation has gone down.
I'm confused as to how the FTTC speed estimation for my phone number has gone down, it's now showing as 33.8 when it was 39.9. Currently I'm sync at 68 and 20 up. The only thing that I can think that possibly has caused the estimation to go down is the fact that I had line issues for a year or so and always got sub 25meg speeds?
Most of the checkers results are now lower it looks like they have updated the checker data from more up to date line data now that there are more fibre users
