Please some applications i still opened this morning has ceased to open...applications like facebook,twitter etc and ive installed new applications after then that are opening......please what do i do?

Hi,
Many of my applications are not opening. Sometimes when I try to open the application it doesn't even bounce in the dock. Other times, applications will bounce in the dock and then stop. These are crucial apps, like Mail, Pages, and iPhoto. Safari and iTunes are working fine.
Here is some information on my mac:
I have an early 2008 MacBook Pro, 2.5 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, 250 GB HDD, and 4 GM DDR2 Crucial RAM. I am running the latest versions of Snow Leopard, iWork, and iLife. So my computer is up to date (software wise).
Does anyone know what could be going on with my computer?
I have already tried repairing the disk and repairing the disk permissions in disk utility through the OS as well as the install disc. Is there anything else I should try doing before taking my computer into the Apple store?

Ok, that's plenty of space.
Check the S.M.A.R.T. status on your HD: Boot from install disc (insert disc > restart > immediately hold down the c key and keep holding it until you see “Preparing Installation”) > at first screen select the language and click Continue > click on the Utilities Menu in the menu bar > select Disk Utility > select your HD in the panel on the left side (the name of the HD’s manufacturer and the model number, usually the top item in the list) > look at the bottom of the main window next to S.M.A.R.T. status and see if it says “Verified” (good) or something more ominous like “Failing.”
If S.M.A.R.T. status is "Verified," run Repair Disk > click Repair Disk at bottom of main window. Run this at least twice, and keep running it until it says “appears ok” twice in a row. If that doesn’t happen, you may need a stronger utility (such as DriveGenius, TechToolPro, DiskWarrior) or if the directory is damaged beyond repair, you may need to reinstall the OS, or you may have a damaged HD which will need to be replaced (repair utilities can only repair the directory structure, not the HD itself). When this is finished, quit Disk Utility, quit the installer, and restart. Once booted normally, go to Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility and run Repair Permissions.

Help please? When using USB to connect to my ibook the phone gives me this message: "Coneced as Storage Device: Some file and applications are not accessible". I then go to my desktop and search through my phone to find no files not to mention not showing up in iTunes. Could someone please help?

I am having a similar problem.
My RoKr was connecting and syncing properly until I performed the latest software upgrade (which upgraded both iTunes and iSync). After the upgrade my phone does not show up either in iTunes or on the desktop. When I plug the phone it indicates that it is connecting as a storage device and some file/applications will not be accessible. However the phone does not appear on the desktop or in iTunes. When I go into iSync the phone is only recognized via bluetooth, the USB connection is not detected.
I remain tuneless and await a solution...

After Migrating to project server 2013 some of my Mpp are not opening in project professional

After migrating to project server 2013 from 2010. my some of mpp are not opening in project professional.
project professional taking some time and then showing checkin error. There are no logs on project server to this issue.
but you can see these project in project server 2013 without issue. I have also tried the EditLink function. but result is same project professional not able to open. Check in error.

Can you try this:
Open one of those Projects in PWA to edit in the browser
make a slight change (new dummy task etc.)
Save and Publish from the web
Close and check in from the web
Wait for the jobs to complete
Open project professional
try and open the same project again from there

10.6 to10.8 upgrade some of my movies are not opening

I get messages telling me that some of my movies are not movies when I try to play them.
< The movie could not be opened >
The file is not a movie file.
This is the exact message that I get, but not on all my downloads. ???

I have upto date apps ,FLIP for Mac, .Realplayer, VLC, DIVX player and converter, Quicktime 7 Pro
Quicktime that came with OS10.8.2 .
The only one that is missing is < Windows Player > from Explorer.
In short I think Apple is screwing their customers

APEX applications are not opened in Internet Explorer 6

Hi All,
I'm developing the applications using APEX 3.0. When I tried to open the applications in the Internet Explorer 6, they are not properly opened(css and javascript files are not downloaded) but where as they do in other browsers like Firefox or IE7. I even changed the internet explorer setting by enabling the javascript debugging on. But no luck.
Any suggestions are welcome.

I would delete every single temporary internet file, cookie etc. Even delete anything in the Java cache (if you have Java installed, which you probably do). We get weird behaviour with IE 6.0 and Java/Oracle products when something gets into the temp files or into the java cache that 'borks' stuff up.

i just downloaded appscleaner from net and accidentally removed some of the ms office files like database utility , entourage ,etc. now when i open word, excel , it shows some message . how to restore the files. i tried by dragging them to the desktop but don't know how to reinstall them at original place.

Dragging them to desktop was not a good idea. Now you need to know where they came from.
For any still in the Trash right-click on the file and select "put back" from the context menu.
What version of Office, and what are the file names? We may be able to help you trace where they should be.

Reinstallation of OS has caused some of my applications to not open???

I recently reinstalled my OS because I had a start up problem. (My computer now starts fine). I have not deleted my previous system folder but my digital photo editing program, Nikon Picture Project no longer opens. Instead, I get an error message saying that the application had unexpectedly quit. I have not found anything in my manuals or online to help this. I reinstalled Picture Project and restarted yet it still does not work. Limewire also does not fully work. It will start and show the tiny Limewire banner, but it will not load to the normal screen where one can actually do anything.

You should repair permissions before and after system updates. (Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility > click Macintosh HD on the left-hand pane and then click Repair Permissions). You should also apply updates up to 10.4.7 using (Apple Menu > Software Update).

Hi, can someone please help me with this one, I have recently downloaded QuickTime 7.2 updates and now I can open most of my applications including safari. I have done the trouble shooting on the apple support page with downloading the 10.4.10 Combo update with no luck of it working. I have also pasted the "sudo update_prebinding -root / -force" into the Terminal window however this didnt work either. Does anyone know how to get the applications to open - help!!
