HT201412 stop apps from uploading in middle of process

Live and Learn.
My daugther, hit multiple apps to download at the same time. There are 8 trying to upload right now. I want to stop the process. How can I do it? I tapped and held on one and they all shook but I could not do anything with them. Any suggestions?

I found my solution

Adding to the list of quitting app's before shutting down and the reopen app's options above, go to: Apple > System Preferences > Users & Groups > Login Items and remove any unwanted App's from the list that are set to open at login.

How do I stop apps from running in background on my iPhone 4s?  I double tap the home button and the running apps will move right and left but no "x" appears to stop them from running.

Very few apps actually run in the background:

  • How do I stop apps from reloading every time I unlock my iPhone?

How do I stop apps from reloading every time I unlock my iPhone? I have an iPhone 4 and at least 95% of the time I unlock it, some apps act as though they are reinstalling. It only lasts for about 3 seconds if that but it makes me feel like something is wrong with it. Does anyone else have this problem??

Could you explain what you mean by this? What is happening that makes you think they're reinstalling?

  • How do I stop apps from my iPad Air being downloaded to the iPhone4?

If I download a game or app to my iPad Air in iOS8, why is it downloaded to my iPhone4 automatically when I sync through iTunes12 on my iMac. Have I somehow turned this auto match download? How do I stop this from happening? I only want what I download to the iPad Air, unless I manually decide to install it on the iPhone4 through iTunes12.

With the settings changed on the iPhone4, why the iPad Air? I downloaded the apps to it. Then chose to delete them, which works. I just have to remember to delete them from iTunes12 eventually.

  • Is there a way to stop apps from running in the background on my 3gs?

I was told that apps could be "turned off" in the iphone, which saves on battery life and removes the apps from the main screen, placing them in a scrollable line at the bottom. I even saw the guy do it! Now, I can't figure out how he did it!

Hold till it wiggles is for the apps that will show up in the multi-tasking bar. This is the group to the bottom of the phone, just above the home button. I don't mean trying to delete apps off the home screen.
Check page 19 in the User Guide http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf. That should explain it.

  • How do I stop apps from automatically downloading every time I connect to the internet?

When my iPhone connects to the internet, an average of four apps automatically download on my device. What is causing this issue and how can I stop it?

I've just got a new iPad, got 8 updates available on app store, after like 5 min there were 4 updates. It was when I realised that it was automatically downloading stuff, so i disabled it from iTunes and App Stores settings as you wrote. The problem is that even though I disabled everything, every time I reconnect this iPad to wi-fi it continues to download because from 4 available updates it went down to 2. And somehow it managed to download GarageBand update, that's 600mb off of my monthly 8gb!! Why does it keep downloading from app store?

  • Stop iMatch From Uploading WAV Files ?

I'm in the process of recording all my old LPs, and part of this process is the conversion from WAV to MP3 by iTunes.  (I'm using SoundForge 4 for the recording, it's old and doesn't recognise Mp3).
The problem is that as soon as I add the WAV files to my iTunes library, iMatch starts uploading them.  This causes a double-entry problem when I convert the files to MP3, and when I try to delete the WAV files, iTunes seems reluctant to do so, probably because it sees thety are now in iCloud and is still uploading them.
Is it possible to restrict iMatch to upload MP3s only ?

    Hi,
It is not possible to restrict match to upload specific tracks.
Is it essential that you convert tracks to mp3. Would AAC be acceptable? WAV files are converted to 256 AAC during upload process. Therefore you could allow tracks to upload then delete and download as AAC. What if the vinyl rip matches? You will be able to get a new copy of track.
Other alternatives are to turn off match until you have finished importing and converting your tracks or use a free app such as Audacity to convert tracks to mp3.

  • How can I stop apps from auto-syncing on one of my computers...?

    Hi all
I have an ipad 2 that I sync to my MacBook Pro at home. I also have a few other computers on the same iTunes Store account. One of which is my work iMac 27inch (Lion and iTunes 10.5.2). Every morning when I turn on iTunes it trys to download the apps that I have downloaded from the appstore on my iPad. Some of these are quite big and I certainly dont need them on my work computer. I have turned off auto-syncing of everything on the iMac and iPad but every morning I have to manually go to the Downloads on the sidebar and pause/delete the active downloads. Even if I delete them they reappear the next time I open iTunes. Very annoying...??? Any ideas...???

Hah.... That was quick...! Seems to have worked too. Very easy. Annoyed with myself that I didnt see that.
    Thanks a million
