Try installing Perian or VLC. Some AVIs require a codec which simply isn't available for Mac OS X.

I couldn't find the edit button on my original post so I am posting an update here.
I have gone through more apps and have had good luck on all but one more. And it's not that the app doesn't work, I am talking about the Yahoo Weather app, It works fine, but when you swipe between cities the screen lags a bit and it sometimes doesn't move between pages the way it should. On iOS 7.1.2 it was smooth as butter but on iOS 8.0, not so much. I will post a note in the app store to let them know. I really like the Yahoo app better than the new stock app.
I have been going through my games and they all work fine. Angry Birds (Original and Stella), Canabalt, Minecraft, Bejeweled 2, Silly Walks, PopWords, Doodle Jump, Deep Green all seem to work just fine.
Starbucks app works as it should.
I will stop back again next week after I have had the weekend to play with it in detail and post my thoughts again.

Where did the phone come from as most of the UK carriers unlock phones, but the fact that you are now abroad may be a problem.

Dear All,
I recently sent to Apple an invoice in order to inform the Part Number and Serial Number. Following teir policies, the Part Number was included in the OBS (observation) section by the reseller (a big store here in Spain called El Corte Ingles).
Also, the Part Number was included in Apple's list of laptop entitled to receive a free upgrade to Mountain Lion. Howvever, Apple sent me an email rejecting my request of receiving the upgrade.
I tried to contact them explaining where in the invoice the Part Number was included by the reseller. In addition I expalined that the model was included in their list. They never replied back. I used the following email "[email protected]". It was the one suggested by them in tehir previous emails.
Do you know a differnt way to contcat them? I 've got another pending claim. The same issue (they haven't checked the inoice properly). I cannot get a "customised invoice" from El Corte Ingle and already have requested twice a new invoice from that reseller.
Hopefully anyone here knows how to proceed or an specific email to contact Apple! help will be much appreciated.

After updating to IOS 6 in both iPhones and iPads I have difficulty to update applications, since I cannot switch from US store to my ID store which is in Greece.

I am back with an update. I turned off Match on both the ipad and the iphone 5. By doing so I was able to sync my Iphone and ipad to itunes and store the music on my devices rather than the slow streaming. So far this has fixed my problems with the iphone I have all my music, playlist, most of the album art and so on. But the ipad is a different story. I have the music and artist but not one playlist I am sure Apple will have an upgrade soon that will address these issues they are usually very good about this.
Now have any of you experienced another problem that has existed as long as I have used faces in Aperture.
I have over 200 faces and they are organized a-z problem is I have this going on A-Z folowed by a few that start over A-Z followed by another few A-Z and again a 4th time A-Z. Imagine how difficult it is while I am showing someone the great features of my iphone, ipad and imac. Which I do talk highly of all the time. But how do I explain that even though their name starts with a or b or what ever they are not important enough to me to be in the first list of A-Z or even the 2nd or 3rd list of A-Z someohow they are in the 4th section of the list!!!!
I have managed to get the Imac to fix this but for some reason the IOS devices do not. Any ideas?

try this
1- You have to restart your MBA holding down the Command+S keys, and this will take you into Single User Mode and it’s Terminal interface.
2- Then you have to check the filesystem. to do this you have to type the following command in the terminal interface:
fsck -fy
3- Then you have to mount the root drive with write option enabled so you can apply and save any changes. Type this in the temrinal interface:
mount -uw /
4- And then type this command exactly as you see it here:
rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
5- Reboot your MBA by typing this in the terminal interface:
reboot
6- After you reboot, you will be see the “Welcome Wizard” startup screen. Follow the wizard and create a new user account. This new account name must be different from the onewhose password you want to recover.
7- Continue and boot into your Mac OS X with the new account you have just created, this new user account is an Administrator and has administrative access
8- Now that you're logged in, go to System Preferences
9- Click on Users & Groups
10- Click on the Lock icon and use your newly created user name and password if asked. This will allow you to make changes to other user accounts
11- On the user panel select the user account whose password you have forgotten and then click on the Change Password... button.
12- Enter your new password
13- Reboot/restart your MBA and now you can log back in with your old account. If you want you can delete the user account you created following this steps.
