Imessaging has not worked properly since before Christmas. I have been into the carrier. They said it was a Apple issue

    Does the other person have iMessage on, too? Is the specific phone number/address you are trying to reach them at show up for them in Settings > Messages > Send & Receive?

  • Broadband did not work for days

    my broadband did not work for days. I spent two lengthy periods of time on the phone to sky, once fo 1.5 hrs and the other time for 1 hour. Both phone calls achieved nothing. Eventually the internet started working again. The sky service status online advised that my area had no problems. The service from sky has been incredibly rubbish and has made me very angry. In order to get myself online i had to pay BT Wifi £8 for a day pass. Sky have been very generous and have compensated me 62 pence for the time I have been without the internet. My question to sky is..... will youplease refund me the £8 I have spent and give me some sort of compensation for the dismal service provided. I have tried to call calling you this morning but you phone is engaged, I tired emailin gyou but you have no email, I tried the live chat, but it is busy. The forum is the only place I can go.

    Well, the sleep/wake button is also the power button. If you cannot use it to turn on, then you cannot use it to perform a reset by holding it and the home button together until you see the Apple logo.Those are the only two ways to turn the device on. You can try letting the battery go completely dead and then trying to plug it in. After it has charged for 20-30 minutes, the device may come back on. But, without the sleep/wake button, there is no other way to turn the device on or off.

  • Hello, my Mozilla hasn't work for almost 24 hours now (not responding right after opening it), and it was crashing a lot a few days before that

    For a few months Mozilla was crashing at least once a day, and a few days ago it started going completely out of hand, crashing, closing unexpectedly every now and then. Since yesterday night it hasn't worked at all, i wasn't able to open any singlel web-site. I have Windows 7 on my laptop, updated McAfee (no viruses detected) and fix-it utilities (optimized 100%). I never got crash ID, can't open troubleshooting page as Mozilla wouldn't even open completely.

    Can you get your home page?
    If you can't even get your home page, I suggest creating a new Firefox profile. In addition to bypassing current add-ons and custom settings, it should have completely fresh settings databases and a fresh cache folder.
    First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings (profile folder) in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. In Windows 7, your profile folder is in here:
    C:\Users\''username''\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles
    You can copy that entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.
    Next, with Firefox closed, start up in the Profile Manager as described in the article [https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Managing+profiles Managing profiles]. Any time you want to switch profiles, close Firefox and return to this dialog.

    WWhy does iMessage not work for some thst have iPhone? For example day 1 text went as iMessage day 2 changed to sms

    Hi,
    1) That iPhone  may not be registered with the iMessages Servers.
    Several variants of that:-
    2) the iPhone has lost power/is out of range and been "de-registered".
    3) Twice my iPhone has become set to Not Receive on the iPhone Number - the User cannot change this - but it has happened. After a while if this is not spotted it loses the link with the Apple ID as well.
    4) It is not entirely clear if you Block someone in iMessages whether the iPhone still gets SMS versions.
    It appears you might have to block them for Phone  (and therefore related services like SMS) as well as iMessages.
    5) iMessages servers having a bad day.

    My iMessage has not worked in over 12 hours. No one around me is being affected by this. All other version iphone5's around me are working.

    Sorry I wish I had more ideas for you to try.   For what it's worth, I've had it go out unexplained before and it would suddenly start working.   Usually after the fact I'd read there was some type of iMessage outage on one of the tech blogs.
    I'd just wait it out unless someone else has ideas.   Sorry.

  • IMessage is not working for my new number it will let me use the number the phone was originally set to and my email address but since I updated to iOS 7 it won't let me select my new number; it is just in grey

    I just updated to iOS 7 and now my iMessages won't work. It just keeps saying activating iMessage but it's not doing anything; I tried signing in with my Apple ID but then it just lets me send them using my email address and the number the phone was originally set to; even though that is not my actual number that I use as I changed it through Vodafone so the SIM card now has a different number.
    It won't even let me click on my number to select it; it is just that faded grey colour and there are no ticks by it;
    And when it says "may be a standard SMS charge to activate" I'm not even getting a text through to be able to activate it anyway
    How can I fix this?

    My email has been frozen for two days now. Any help out there? The little thing just keeps spinning and spinning.

    It's searching for new mail and can't connect to the server apparently,
    Quit the mail app completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
    Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button. Try mail again.
    Or you can try this as well. Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

    On the iPhone that can't send or receive iMessages, make sure iMessage is On in Settings > Message.

    If you still can't send or receive iMessages
    To send and receive iMessages, your device must have a valid cellular or Wi-Fi data connection.

    Have you tried when connected to another network?
    Note that yo can only send Messages to other people who have the Messages another iPod touch, iPhone and iPad and receive them from from the same.
    You have to Message them using the email address/phone number (iPhone) listed on their device in Settings>Messages>Send and Receive

  • Double-Click Home Button Hasn't Worked for me since 1.1.1 upgrade

    Hi all,
    I've been waiting around, sort of wondering if anyone has the same problem as I do. With 1.1.1, on of my favorite features I was excited for was the double-clicking of the home button. But this feature works far from properly on my iPhone.
    When playing music, double-clicking the home button does display the iPod controls, and that's nice. And when locked, the home pressed twice also correctly shows the iPod controls. But the features that work properly stop here.
    When set to the home menu, double tapping the button causes absolutely nothing to happen. I've tried it many times. Making sure music isn't playing, making sure the switch that says "Show iPod controls instead when music is playing" is turned off. I wanted this feature so bad I've done 3 software restores and nothing.
    The same goes for Contact Favorites. What's interesting is that if I have the phone unlocked (and I can be in any app) and the double-click setting is set to show Favorites, I can double-click the home button and it will show the favorites. But never when locked. The only double-click feature that works from the locked screen is iPod controls. And the iPod controls like to show even when it's not set to nor pending music playing.
    Is anyone else out there having these issues? I'm out of ideas of how to fix it.

    If I'm following corectly it sounds like you've done a bit of trouble shooting yourself. Can you take it to an Apple store an let them check it out?

  • Verizon Coverage Locator hasn't worked for 3+ weeks

    Anyone know what's up with the coverage locator?  If you trying to enter an address, pan, zoom or switch coverage types, absolutely nothing happens.  It's been like this for over three weeks now.
    I travel and work full-time and rely on that map to direct me to where I may have coverage (even if the coverage is greatly exaggerated, at least I know which places to avoid for sure!). I've had friends check as well, so it's not just my browsers.  You would think someone would have noticed this and fixed it by now.
