HT201436 Voicemail sprint issues (i am a tech at apple) I am stumped

i have a customer that is unable to delete old voicmails from his i  phone 5 using sprint service. Also when u call to leave a voicmail on customers phone you can not hear the greeting on known good receiver phone.
Steps i have taken.
I have erased all content and settings and set up as new phone
I have replaced phone and sim card
SET UP NEW PHONE AS NEW, NO RESTORE FROM BACKUP.
reset all and network settings
Spoke with sprint and had them perform a refresh on voicmail
NOTHING HAS WORKED. PLEASE HELP!

GOOD GRIEF!! The world is coming to an end!!!
Kidding aside, yeah, the carriers' general purpose shotgun approach to these issues is blasting away at the client's config on their systems (messages included) and creating anew. A minute of silence for all the fallen bits and bytes....

Can a unlocked (no ATT, Verizon, Sprint plan) iphone 5 bought from an Apple store utilize a phone call while simultaneously checking email, turn by turn, web pages etc.? I know the ATT version can and the Verizon version can't, so can the unlocked  version from Apple (which is not yet available) do it?

    Hello Kewal,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing when trying to perform an update.  I recommend trying to update using iTunes, and as always, it is a good idea to make a backup first.

Crash issues with elements organizer while running Apple OS 10.9 Mavericks.  Crashes then ask if you want to reopen or not.  Also when you are trying to manuver the page with your mouse things go crazy from a full page edit back to viewing all photos on the site and skipping around from picture to picture.  Unsusable as it is today!

It is very critical to delete all preferences when you do a major OS X upgrade. You need to go to your username>library>preferences and delete everything pertaining to PSE. To see that library in 10.9, open a finder window, click your user account in the list on the left (the little house with your name), and then click the gear wheel at the top of the window and choose View Options. At the bottom of the list of checkboxes you'll see Library. Turn it on and then you can easily find the preferences folder.

Have also heard that the ipad3 revamped version is around along with the mini pad rumor..too much information - lot's of confusion pls help

    Lindsay,
Your iBookG4 is still a pretty awesome Mac. Like already said, it has the power to run Leopard, but it depends if you have an internal DVD drive.
Then I suppose you have to add up the cost of the OS, perhaps another 512MB RAM, iLife 08 and replacements for any favourite apps that you currently use (Leopard breaks a lot of stuff, but Intel breaks even more). Compare it to the cost of a new MacBook, which wil have all of that included and be 3-4x faster too.
It also depends on what you want to achieve with your iBook. My PMG4 still cuts it today, I still use it in preference to my new Mac Pro, It's about the same age as your iBook, and I'll only stop using it when it becomes "painfully" slow. My 1 year old son currently uses the Mac Pro (parts for a Mac Pro are easier to replace than those for a PMG4).
I think your choice is simple, if you can a cheap copy of Tiger, use that, it'll get your iPod Touch up and running. It came in DVD and 4 CD version (by request).
Leopard will work for you too but a lot of the best eye-candy requires quite a meaty graphics card and you may need a RAM upgrade and replacement software - OS9 Classic is not supported in Leopard.

Bought the Iphone 6   2 days ago. My mac pro finds the phone on bluetooth but phone will not discover ANY bluetooth divices. Have hard reset the phone and restarted as well. nothing. Any suggestions or issues. This is the first apple phone I have owned. Am not very happy that Bluetooth would present a problem.

I can't help with the other devices but note that an iPhone will not pair via Bluetooth to a computer (Mac or Windows) except for personal hotspot and then only if your cellular plan supports it. https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-7722
If you are attempting to use Handoff/Continuity, that does involve Bluetooth but the devices are NOT paired; Bluetooth just needs to be on and the devices in range of each other. The following may help with Handoff/Continuity issues: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5458

At the current time we have one Domino v7.0.4 server (Win2k with DUC v1.2.3) in production and our clients are running Notes v7.0.4 client with DUC v.1.2.3 installed on them. This setup has been working great in our Unity v5.0(1) environment. We are looking to migrate our users to a newly installed Domino v8.5.1 (Win 2008 x32 DUC v1.2.5) server in the near future but out test users are running into a problem.
When a user gets migrated over to our new Domino server the client can no longer access their voicemail via TUI.  During the user migration process we do change the pointer in Unity to their mail file on the new Domino server. When the user logs in they receive "Your messages are available now"
If we migrate the user back to the old v7.0.4 server they can access their voice mail with no issues.
Any feedback you could provide would be great. Thanks!

    Hi Kenneth,
Could you clarify what you mean by "During the user migration process we do change the pointer in Unity to their mail file on the new Domino server"? Typically when moving a user's mail file to a new Domino server, Unity should automatically pick up those changes. Are you pehaps creating a new mail file and pointing Domino to it instead of moving it? If that is the case, the new mail file would not have been DUCS enabled, a process it must go through before Unity will be able to access it properly. The only way to force that to happen would be to reimport the user into Unity. If the mail file is properly migrated, however, the mail file should remain DUCS enabled and there would be no need for this.
An easy way to determine whether the user is DUCS enabled is using the DUT tool. It is located on the Unity server under \Commserver\Utilities\Domino\DUT. It will show you a list of all of your users. Compare the values you see in the UCProfile section for a working / non-migrated user to a failing one. You might also want to verify that it lists the updated mail server and mail file for the user.
Also, while I don't think it would cause this particular problem, you should be aware that Server 2008 is not currently a supported platform for DUCS/CsServer 1.2.5, see page 6 in the admin guide:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity/duc/admin/guide/cuducag.pdf
    Hope this helps,

  • I bought my Iphone 4 from Sprint. I have little or no internet service. When I go into extended network areas, my phone sends old text messages to my friends, repeatedly. Is this a Sprint issue?

I bought my I-Phone 4s from Sprint. The salesman raved about how much faster my internet would be with Sprint, also told me 4g was being added my area, and it would be even faster. Well now 4g is here. All of my friends on AT&T enjoy 4g, while I am only getting 3g, my internet is so slow, I rarely use it!
Last week I visited the Sprint store where I purchased my phone, to find out what the problem was. They told me NONE of the I-Phones were capable of getting 4g??????  Wow, Has anyone else been blatantly lied to by Sprint.
The other issue I am having is: every time I leave my home area, and go into the extended area network, and then return into my home area, my phone starts resending old text messages to my friends, that they had recieved days ago!. Of course the Sprint Personnel argued with me and said those were just messages that never went through the first time. I have screenshots of the duplicate messages from my friends, phones.
My I-Phone was great for the first 2 months. this month my I-Phone has completely quit 3 times, Sprint says a tower is down every time I call in to report it.
Is anyone else having these problems with the I-phone 4s?

You are not alone on issues related to weak signals.  It happens to us all regardless of the carrier in the US.
I have an iPhone4, legally unlocked with replaceable SIM that I use here In Australia, the US and Europe.  I simply replace the SIM to phone accounts in other countries.  Do have issues at home here in Australia from time to time, but many more problems in the US than any other country.
When the signal is weak, ususally 1 bar the phone does not have enough power to stay connected.  It will attempt to receive and send, but is trying to process so much that the signal cannot cope.
If any employee from Sprint, ATT or any other carrier attempts to tell you it is you and not their system they are out right lying.  Just as they lied when they told you that the iPhone was 4G.  Some try to get around the issue by saying 3GLite, but that really does not apply either because of the mobiles frequency range.
In fact the Australian government fined Apple AUD$2.25 million + $330,000 in costs for advertising that the new iPad was 4G and LTE, which it is not.  There is currently another legal challenge over the iPhone4S.
If you have anything in writing from Sprint that says 4G then you need to contact your states attorney general.  At least file a complaint with both Sprint and the FCC.  If they tell you it is 4G then they either are lying or they do not have a clue to the mobile.
When the signal is weak the phone keeps attempting to send anything that you have sent.  Sometimes that means multiple sends if the signal keeps dropping to low and it has to try all over again.
One way around the problem is by using an internet or data based app like Viber or WhatsApp.  Both are voice, text and data Apps that will use Wi-Fi first then 3G if Wi-Fi is not available.  Because they use the data side of your mobiles plan it does not take as much power or size to receive or send.  Plus, because they are primarily Wi-Fi then data bases they do not use as much time or text units.  You can find them online or through the Apple App Store.
Iv used Viber for years because I can use it overseas or talk, video, text or msg internationally without use of any mobile plan time.
Rember to that in the states you have I think 72 days to return a mobile to the carrier without any charges.
I use ATT in the states and when I am at home here I get almost no signal ... I depend 99% on Viber or WhatsApp to even talk.

  • List of issues under investigation by Tech Support

I would like to be able to see somewhere the list of issues which have been accepted by Tech Support as problems and are under investigation for correction in future releases.
Despite all care taken to stay as long as I could in LR 1.2, which after few bypasses worked fine for me, I migrated to 1.3.1 and discovered I had missed a couple of problems (Quick Develop Reset no longer works in 1.3/1.3.1, nor does flag as rejected with filter set to Pick and unflagged only).
Reading the posts made by users having the problem, I am unable to find out if Tech Support are aware of this, nor if they have accepted the problems described as issues to be fixed.

I am sure ADobe knows of the Reset Problem. Time will tell if it gets fixed with the next Version release.
I don't know about the other Pick/Reject issue.
No Adobe does not do a list of known issues displayed for Users to see.

  • 'New voicemail' notification issue

My iPhone 4 is showing a 'new voicemail' notification, but when I call I don't have a voicemail? Is there a way to reset the notifications or has anyone else experienced this?

There is a 3rd party program called Kate (used to be Caterpillar), which among many other things allowed you to customize the notification settings. I used Caterpillar way back when with a Jailbroken iPhone, so I don't know if they are offering their products through the legit channels now or not (mind you, it never worked consistently).
You can find them here. It looks like they are still offering this product, but may be not through the App store. You would have to install it yourself, so proceed at your own risk:
    http://ripdev.com/kate
I too brought up this feature way back when I bought my first iPhone. It is simply absurd. Apple or someone else will hopefully address this ASAP.
+And as for Mr Anderson, this is not something that would be pointed out on the specs of a device. Even the simplest analog answering machine way back in the 1980's had a persistent beep to notify you if there were messages waiting for you. And EVERY cell phone I have EVER owned has had this feature, so it is perfectly understandable that those of us who find this a great omission, would like to voice our discontent.+
+As for this NOT being the proper place to ask for feature requests, you are plain wrong. Many a times there are workarounds and 3rd party solutions that we would never hear about if everyone was to simply submit their requests to Apple. Also this is a great way to find out if others share your point of view or not. Even if Apple does not officially read these forums, I can guarantee you that given enough critical mass behind an issue, they will find out about it. I know, because I happen to be a software developer and have experienced this many times first hand.+
Thank you EVERYONE for sharing and posting even if you are don't have as many posts as others...

  • HT201436 Voicemail Robocalls yet no record of any recent calls?

I'm receiving Voicemails which are robocalls from some telemarketer.  However, my iphone shows no recent phone calls.  Anyone else having this issue?

It's possible some company has figured out how to send you a voicemail without actually dialing your phone.    Most modern office phone systems have this feature, but I don't know if it's possible to do with cell phones.

  • Jabber for Windows Voicemail Playback Issue

    Hi,
I have Jabber for Windows installed and voicemail is working ok but when I playback a voicemail from the Jabber client the MWI light does not go out on the phone. If you do the opposite ie listen to a new voicemail through the phone the new message indicator goes out on jabber.
Also if you listen to the voicemail through Jabber client the voicemail plays through the PC speakers. Is there anyway in getting Jabber to direct the call to the phone so the user can pick the handset to listen like you can when listening to voicemail through the Unity Connection Web Inbox.
    Thanks for you time
    Regards
    Neil

    Hi Neil,
Playing the voicemails in Jabber should turn off the MWI light. You need to open a TAC case and sent on a problem report to debug this further.
For the second question, the only way I think you can do this is by setting Jabber to deskphone mode and then using the "Call Voicemail" button.
