HT201441 Can't set up iPhone as old iCloud account is locked out even though device removed!!!

My Mums iphone has been removed from its original iCloud account and a factory reset performed.
I want to connect it to a new iCloud account (for my Dad), but when setting it up, it asks for the original iCloud account.
When I enter the original account details in correctly, it says "Incorrect Apple ID, [email protected] cannot be used to unlock this iPhone."
I can still log into iCloud with the original account on my PC and under "find my phone" is says no devices are connected.
"Set up your iCloud account on an iPhone, .... to use Find My iPhone"
Of course, I can't do that as I'm in an endless loop of going nowhere, locked out of my own device.
I've tried using my wireless network and itunes with the same result.
HOW CAN I CONTINUE TO SET UP AND ACCESS MY PHONE???
I expect I'll have to make a special inconvenient trip into town to the Apple store. So much for user friendly!

from Apple's web site - I tried these first and then other combinations:
• Server name: imap.mail.me.com - also tried using the p03- before that which was in my Mac's settings for this account, also tried using the p03- in the IMAP prefix field
• SSL Required: Yes - I also tried the 3 other available settings, including TLS and accept all for both SSL and TLS
• Port: 993 (also tried TLS / 143)
• Username: The name part of your iCloud email address (for example, emilyparker, not [email protected]) - I also tried using that with both @mac.com and @me.com as part of user name
• Password: Your iCloud password
I could not get past this stage with the stock / default Android mail app. However, Aqua Mail allows me to enter both incoming and outgoing server settings before connecting (which both fail).
SMTP information for the outgoing mail server
• Server name: smtp.mail.me.com
• SSL Required: Yes - I also tried the 3 other available settings, including TLS and accept all for both SSL and TLS
• Port: 587 (also tried SSL / 465)
• SMTP Authentication Required: Yes
• Username: Your full iCloud email address (for example, [email protected], not emilyparker) - I also tried using that with both @mac.com and @me.com as part of user name
• Password: Your iCloud password

I have the same problem - it is maddening. I rely on this iPad for work so this is not just an annoyance! The above solutions of changing the appleid on the device or on the website do not work.
The old email address no longer exists - I haven't used it in a year probably and I no longer have the account. I logged into the appleid website and there is no trace of the old email address so there is nothing that can be deleted or changed there. On the iPad there is no trace of the old email address so nothing can be deleted there either. I have updated the iPad software and the same problem comes right back. Every 2 seconds I am asked to log in using the old non-existent email. The device is currently useless.
The only recent change to anything was the addition of an Apple TV device, which was set up using the correct login and password.
Does anyone have any ideas? The iPad has been backed up to the iCloud so presumably it now won't recognize the current iCloud account? So restoring may notbe an option?

How can I set up more than one iCloud account on my pc?

I would like more than one photo stream to save to my pc. I have an iCloud setup up on my pc so that my pc can save the photo stream pictures from an ipad and iphone (each have the same id). I also have a second iphone with a separate icloud/apple id, and I would like pictures from that photo stream to be saved to the same pc. Is this possible to do? I don't see any options to 'add an acount' in my iCloud control panel.

You would probably be able to enter the second account's server details manually into the Mail application to that it would access both accounts: setup details here:

However the best way to do this is certainly for each of you to have your own user account on the Mac, setting up Fast User Switching to prevent having to keep logging in and out - then each account can set up the owner's iCloud account and do all the syncing and other facilities.

You can but it's usually not recommended. If you do any synced data will be merged to the same iCloud account. For example if you both sync your contacts and calendars with the same iCloud account you will see each others contacts and calendar events on your phones. Also, you can share an Apple ID (account) for iTunes store purchasing and still have separate iCloud accounts. I've recoverd my Ipad and now I can't pair it with my old iCloud account. I can see my music in my iPad but can't play it. How can I solve this problem?

Those are the instructions for your computer's iTunes (i.e. using the Store menu at the top of your computer's iTunes and selecting 'View My Account' on it). If you are doing it on your iPad then are you following the instructions for iOS devices :
To unhide your purchases
Depending on the content type, open the App Store, iBooks, or iTunes Store on your device.
Scroll to the bottom of the main page.
If you're not already signed in, tap Sign In.
Tap your Apple ID name, then tap View Account.
Scroll down on the Account pane, and tap Hidden Purchases.
Locate the item you would like to unhide then tap the Unhide button.

Can I set the iPhone to ignore my neighbour's locked WiFi Network?

I know you can set the iPhone to "forget" a network you've previously joined. But, how about my neighbour's network that's locked, that I've never joined, and keeps prompting me to join it? Can I tell the iPhone to ignore it?

Maybe if enough people voice the request for this feature, Apple will finally implement it. Add one more user to that list.
It seems backwards to me that you can only "forget" a network that you have already joined. Why would I want to do that?? I want to "forget" the annoying secured network next door that I CAN'T join, because it pops up and asks me every single day of my life, and I want to block it while still automatically joining unsecured networks. If Apple can't figure out how to do that, then they should at least add the option to ignore secured networks.

How can I manage 2 iPhones with two iCloud accounts on one PC?

Once, we had an IPhone and a Windows Phone - calendars from both were sync'd via Outlook and life was simple. Having just migrated the Windows Phone to iPhone 5s it seems that iCloud will not allow more than one Apple ID and the Control Panel cannot switch between two different iCloud accounts.
Another post has suggested turning off iCloud options but I am concerned the apps and other purchased data will be deleted and the control panel 3.1 has limited options that do not appear to match the 3 year old post

On a Mac you would simply create a separate user account for her, and she would sign into her account within her user account. Presumably this would work the same way on a PC.

I use two separate Iphones on my Itunes account for easy access. However, I would like to activate Icloud on both phones but I'm guessing each phone would need a separate acount otherwise they would just sync the same info (calanders,contacts,etc.) correct?

If I activate Find My Iphone on the second phone, will it just show two Iphones in the menu when I search for the Iphone on my Mac, or do I need to set up a second Icloud account for the second phone?

sure, as long as you don't mind sharing information - like contacts calendars and some other stuff. There is no limit as far as I know to amount of Apple devices used with same icloud account.

You need to do the following:
1.     Go to Manage Your Apple ID https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/
2.     Sign on with your current Apple ID and password
3.     Change your Apple ID to the old email address, but do not verify it - Save Changes
4.     Go to Setting>iCloud on your iPad, and scroll to the bottom of the screen and click on Delete Account
5.     It will ask you for your password to turn off Find My iPhone, type in your current password
6.     Delete iCloud account
7.     Go back to Manage Your Apple ID and sign in with the changed ID and current password
8.     Change your Apple ID back to your current ID - Save Changes
9.     Go back to Settings>iCloud and sign on with your current Apple ID
You should be all set.

Can't set up iphone 4s using icloud

I have the iphone 3GS and have turned on iCloud & I can see on the screen it's presented me with the time last back up was completed.
I have today upgraded and have iPhone 4S to set up, in the set up process it allows me to select set up from iCloud, I then enter my ID and password (as per the one shown in my 3GS) but then it says ‘no backups available’
Not really sure what else to do to get this to work?

You need to enter the password for the old Apple ID on the phone when it asks.

Yes, once the content is in iTunes on your computer, just click it to play and authorise your computer to play it by entering your Dad's ID and password.
Log into your own account and start purchasing your own content which will then be added to the existing content.

Iphone 6 does not vibrate in lock mode even though settings are set correctly.

I can even be holding the phone and it does not vibrate when a call comes in. How do I change this. I have checked all my settings and they are set to correctly. I am missing so many calls and having to call back. Very frustrating!
