I bought this iphone. It was locked and the owner could not remember their password so i restored it via my computer. Now I can not access it at all because they still have it linked with thier apple id. What can I do if I can not contact them? The number I had for them isnt active. What can I do?
Unfortunately, you have to get in touch with the seller, this would be the only way to activate your phone.

You haven't told us exactly what kind of messages you are getting when you try to start the device. If you are asked to log into icloud with an ID and password, then if the previous owner had an icloud account defined and Find My iPhone turned on, then you won't be able to start it until you get the ID and password from the previous owner. There's nothing more you can do other then to return it.

I bought an Ipad 4 for my wife and iPad Air 2 for my daughter and I have just bought a Macbook Pro with retina display for me. The whole family is an Apple products fan due to its reliability and security. Never know that it could be a disadvantage also. I bought a second hand iPhone 4s from a friend as he is short in caash, and I've been using it for awhile. I "restore and upgrade it" without thinking or checking the Find my iPhone settings, unfortuately it is turned ON. Although the previous owner removed the phone lock, I never asked for his icloud account as I intend to use the phone only for calling. I cannot contact him as his contacts and email address were erased when I restore the iPhone.
I have learned a hard lesson since Apple security is impregnable, my iPhone 4S will just be an expensive paper weight.no.

The other day I bought an ipad with the new ios software on and it was in recovery mode, I took ot to the police on the day as I thought it was stolen, the police returned it to me today as it was legit but I cannot restore it and I have no way of finding out the owner? So I bought an iphone 3GS from a friend of mine and when i try to restore it, it wont work. Now i know that it could have been the computer or it could have been that he jailbroke it and never told me but i just want to get someone elses opinion/help before i go out and spend money to try and fix it.
There are a couple of things you can try. First, are you sure the computer you are using has never been used to jailbreak ANY iDevice (not just the phone with the problem). If you are sure of this do the following:
Reboot the computer
disable your antivirus and firewall
launch iTunes
Connect the USB end of the sync cable to a USB port on the computer itself, not a hub. Do not connect the other end yet
Hold the HOME and SLEEP buttons on the phone until the screen goes blank - IMMEDIATELY release the SLEEP button, but continue holding the HOME button
Connect the dock cable to the phone while holding the HOME button
Wait for iTunes to recognize the phone, then release the HOME button
If the baseband firmware is not corrupted or the wrong version the phone will restore and remove the jailbreak. If not you haven't lost anything. -

I recently changed my apple ID but my previous apple ID is associated with my icloud account. I'm setting up my new iphone 6 and cannot complete the set up until I can sync my icloud account. Does anyone know how to change the icloud id?
Do the following:
Make sure you are signed into iMessage and FaceTime with your current ID. If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.) Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iPhone and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID). Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out and choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password (your data will download back to your phone). -
