Again, you wasted your money. You can ignore raymond73's post, as you won't be able to turn off Find My Phone or delete the iCloud account associated with this phone, without knowing that info.

Your Mac must be on Lion (10.7) to run iCloud. Apple had to change the operating system to fully support it. Nevertheless, it is possible to get emails from iCloud without having Lion. Please tell me if this interests you.

This is not Apple's fault AT ALL. You've been ROBBED by the seller - not Apple.
This is a security feature designed to prevent stolen iOS devices from being used by thieves.
Presumably the device you bought is stolen which is why the person you bought from has magically vanished as soon as he got your money.
Lesson learned: Don't buy products when you cannot verify you are buying from the legitimate owner.

You will have to contact the previous owner, only he/she can remove the phone from their account. You don't have any contact details for the person that you bought the phone from, email address, phone number, postal address ? If you can't contact them then you won't be able to reactivate and use the phone.

If you just set up your iPhone, where did the contacts on your iPhone come from?
When you manually turned contacts on for over the air syncing with your iCloud account, if the Contacts app had any contacts you should have been provided a merge, replace, or keep prompt.

If you do not have that information you will not be able to use the Device.

Apps are permanently tied to the AppleID that downloaded them and cannot be transferred to another. Best thing to do is delete the apps and download those you want or need under your AppleID.

Are you in an area where there is no coverage?
You can try a reset, hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.
If that doesn't help, then yOu'll need to contact Sprint again.
