HT201441 Is it possible for APPLE to remove a device from an Account as an administrator?
Considering that apple knows exactly what device is linked to what AppleID, is it not possible that if you bought a phone from ebay for example, and are unable to get hold of the original owner that Apple can get in touch with them and request they remove it from their account?
Or perhaps if no response is given, remove it from the individuals account so that atleast it can be used?
Ask for a refund from the eBay seller. If they refuse file a complaint with eBay.

Hello everyone!i got a problem about this used ipad2 that i had bought from a friend of my friend.the problem is i cannot activate it i asked my friend to contact the previous owner..according to my friend the previous owner had already removed the device from his account..but still it keeps on asking me to enter the email and password..what should i do now?maybe the previous owner didn't want to give me his Email add ppassword for his own personal reason..please help me this ipad has been in here since April 2014..thank you
The person who sold you the device can remove the ID without giving it to you. Follow the steos in "What to do if you no longer have the device." In the artcle below. If you can't find the person or they won't do it you're stuck with a unusable device.

Is there a way to find my Apple ID Name if I can't remember it?
Yes. Visit My Apple ID and click Find your Apple ID. See Finding your Apple ID if you'd like more information.

I recently got a new iPhone and traded in my old one. At the store, the representatives erased the contents and settings of the old phone (though they did run into some difficulties because of a pre-installed profile and I think were successful after a few attempts) and removed the SIM card. However, the old device keeps showing up on my iCloud account. I removed it from Find My iPhone and deleted the stored backup for the phone, but it's still there. I've talked with Apple Support about it as well as called the store on what I should do. Apple cannot remove the device on my account for me (which is fair), but I think it's strange that I can't remove my own device either. It won't give me any option to.
The Apple people reassure me not to worry and that everything is probably "fine", but I don't like this uneasy feeling that my iCloud account (and who knows what other data) might have an open connection or hole somewhere that I'm not aware about.
Please help! Some people I've talked to speculated (but could not confirm) that this "glitch" would be fixed once someone registered their own iCloud account to the old device; this would force the old device to be removed from my iCloud account and transferred to the new user. How long have you been experiencing this "glitch"? I'm guessing if Apple calls it a glitch on iCloud, it won't be fixed any time soon...

I don't have owner's phone number, how to get previous owner's Apple ID(email address) and send him a email let him remove the device from the account
There is no way for anyone on this forum to assist you. Apple will also not assist you. If you purchased the device thru ebay, file a claim. If you purchased it some other way, I'm sorry. there is nothing anyone can do to help you.

Linksys SmartWifi - How to remove a device from the account
I had a EA6500 and a E4200 in the same house, both running the Linksys SmartWifi firmware. Both devices show up when I login to the SmartWifi admin page. I no longer own the EA6500 but the device still shows up in my device list when I login to the E4200. I'd like to understand what i need to do to remove the EA6500 from the SmartWifi device registration while still keeping access to my E4200.
There is probably a way, but why bother? It does not hurt anything.

Remove one device from my account
I've 2 Ipad's assigned to my Apple account: an Ipad2 and an Ipad Mini. Now I want to remove my old Ipad2 from my Apple account. I know that this can be done in Itunes but the problem is that both devices have the same name. I found no way to display the serial number or the device type. So I don’t know which device I have to remove. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance for all comments.Since some month I've different names for the two iPad's but unfortunatly this is not reflected in iTunes (seems to store the origninal name only). So I can not see which one is the old and which one is the new...

need your help
Hey VPKR, Nice of you to try, but not really. Apple will do nothing without a count order and it's not likely you are doing to get one. The only way you can find out information that may tell you who the owner is, would require the password-- it's a "Catch 22." Turn the iPod over to the police, give then all the information you have about the person that sold it to you, and go from there. If bought online, through a web site like eBay, etc. contact the site about a possible fraudulent sale, you may some recourse to either get your money back and the web site can block this person from trying this again. Follow the instructions the web site gives you about what to do with the iPod. They may tell you send back to them or give it to the police. If you used a check or credit card, call your bank or card company and put out a stop payment, then turn this iPod over to the police. Hope this helps. Thanks for being an honest person. Cheers.

If I gave away an ipod touch to a friend and wiped it clean, will it still be on my icloud account?
If y do this:

The iCloud and iTunes accunt still existe since that are based on the creator, not on any device. -
