Unfortunately, you cannot do very much with your phone unless you get assistance from the previous owner, they should either provide you with the password to unlock it or remove their account from the phone entirely remotely through iCloud.com > Find My Phone. -

PeteYou're gonna have to figure out how to call AppleCare & ask to talk to "Account Security". If your english is not good, then find someone to help you. Be prepared to prove ownership & the fact that you purchased this phone from an authorized source in the US. They "may" be able to help you.

First let me say that I am ready to throw this POS in the lake. Is there a way that I can control iTunes with my iPhone without any internet connections? On my houseboat I have a wifi router and want to connect my phone to my computer to control my music which plays from my computer through my stereo. I can easily do it with my laptop without having to jump through any internet APPLE BS , but I dont want to have my laptop out on the deck. I just want to use the phone as a remote control.
Remote wont do it because it keeps saying Im not connected to the internet, even though is is connected to my computer. Same problem with JumiAmp.It should have an option to manage iTunes library without network connection, like Bluetooth or connect directly to the computer without a router or wi-fi, i live outsite of the city and i dont have the ability to control my iTunes librry from the iphone

Trying to update iPhone 4S from iOS 7 to iOS 8. All PC software up to date, and 2 phones and 1 iPad already updated successfully.
Old software was extracted, but upon completion of updating to iOS 8, error message (6) and "this phone could not be updated"
After several attempts, was offered message to "update" or "restore". Update obviously did not work, so tried restoring.

If you set up the Find My iPhone service prior to your iPhone going missing, then there is a chance that can be tracked, though it depends on a number of factors (the iPhone is turned on, connected to either the 3G or a WiFi network, or has not had the Find My iPhone service disabled or the iPhone been completely restored). Log into icloud.com and go to the Find My iPhone section. If you did not set up Find My iPhone, check with your cell carrier. Some carriers offer their own tracking service, though you usually have to pay for it.
If your carrier does not offer such a service and you did not set up Find My iPhone, then there is no way to track the unit. Contact the police in case someone finds your iPhone and turns it in, and change any passwords for any online accounts you may have used from your iPhone (the iTunes Store, for instance).

If is the passcode that you see when you unlock the iPhone, the only thing you can do is: iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
Use recovery mode
Follow these steps if you never synced your device with iTunes, if you don't have Find My iPhone set up, or if you can't get to your own computer. You'll need to put your device in recovery mode to erase the device and its passcode. Then you'll restore your device.
Disconnect all cables from your device.
Turn off your device.
Press and hold the Home button. While holding the Home button, connect your device to iTunes. If your device doesn't turn on automatically, turn it on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, then restore the device. -
What can be done with the fingerprint reader?
I am trying to figure out simply what I can do with the fingerprint reader on the T400. I understand how to use it to log into the computer. My main question is whether or not I can use the fingerprint reader in the following contexts, and if so how.
1a) To log into internet password protected websites. When I use IE, the password manager pops up and prompts me to save a password. If I save it, I can return to that website and it automatically will enter the login information and password for me. I want to know whether you can have password manager (or another program) prompt the user for the fingerprint and then submit the login information. That way the information is protected each time I log in, but I do not need to enter log in information each time, only a fingerprint.
1b) If this is possible in IE8, I would like to know if it is possible in Firefox 3, in which password manager does not pop up.
2) Can it be used to log into MS Outlook.
3) Can it be used to lock documents in MS Word.
I much appreciate any information letting me know if these can be done, and if so, how to do them. Thank you very much for your help!

1a) Have your browser save the password using Lenovo's Password Manager. Then open password manager and open that item. Click the advanced tab and change the security level to custom. Click "Customize Security Policy" and select "Protect with a Fingerprint."
1b) Lenovo has a patch to synch Password Manager with firefox 3. It can be found here and is much easier than the manual fixes found on this forum.

Hello Mac world. This is Cee again with another wild question about the Macbook pro. I recently purchased a 17in Macbook pro with the discrete 1gb AMD radeon graphics card and I have a question. Is it possible to enhance this discrete graphics card using the express expansion port? I ask because I’m an intense console gammer and I would like to take this experience on the go with my Macbook pro. I know this Macbook can handle games such as Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 if set to low settings, but is there a way to expand the graphics card using the express expansion port? I know there are other laptops designed specifically for the purpose of intense gaming, but I just wanted to try it out on the Macbook pro.

For computer gaiming you need a Windows 7 tower where the video card upgrade options are massive.
laptops of all kinds can't do this, neither can most Mac's, the Mac Pro has little or no graphic card upgrade options.

What can be done with the excessive ink usage on the HP6700 printer?
I just replaced all the cartridges in a HP6700 printer so I could print a black only page (that issue has it's own thread of disappointed customers). Now after very little use, perhaps 20-30 pages at most and again mostly just black type, the message that cyan ink is low comes up. Yes, I set it to print black only and grayscale most every page but I think that is false. I use the Draft setting on most things in another hopless effort to save ink. I think I did better from the starter pack that came with the printer which also ran out about the same time but I did at least print have the pages with color then. Does anyone know of a way to get this thing to stop using up ink so fast other than leaving in unplugged in the corner or placing it in the garbage can.??

I appreciate your frustration, I really do. However, this particular printer uses some color inks even when printing in black only. The reason for this is for servicing tasks and to make sure your printhead does not dry out and cause problems in the future. If you did run out of color and kept printing black only, you will cause problems with the printhead.

A friend of mine has an iPod Mini that is broken beyond repair. However, the battery and the hard drive works fine. The question is, is there a way to utilize the hard drive as an external USB drive? If so, can anyone point me in a resource that outlines this? I have checked online but haven't had any luck.

EdYeah, but I may have not descriped the issue with the iPod. He tried to replace the battery himself and broke the ribbon cable that connects the circuit board to the control wheel. The battery and HD are o.k. so I mentioned that he may be able to take the HD out and use it as a separate storage device. I thought they drives that had the same form factor as a compact flash card.
I told him to pay the 50 bucks to have Apple replace the battery but did he listen? I know it sounds like I have an imaginary friend and I did it, but really it was he that tried it on his own. <ggg>
