what if i cannot contact the original owner i work at a pown shop yes we do take phone numbers we take pictures but most the time the # are fake and they pawn somthing never to pick it up and dont show back up or if they do show up you forget to ask them about it pluse they get angery you ask them about items that was once yours but anyways how could i get into this ipod without having to have the original owner?? i would really like the help!!!

You can't. Only your friend can at this point. Your phone is basically useless to you.

Apple cannot help you locate the original owner. If you have no way to contact him/her, and you purchased directly from the seller rather than through a site that offers buyer protection, then the iPad is useless to you and you have wasted your money. The iPad is quite probably stolen and you should turn it in to the police.
This is why it's very risky and usually unwise to purchase out of a car boot from someone you don't know.

Check back with the people that were running the swap meet, or the person that you purchased from. If you cannot make contact with the original owner, you will not be able to activate the device. It will be useless to you.

hello there peeps, i cant use the iphone that i bought from a local buy, swap and sell site. the phone was restored to factory setting and i used it for 4 months but after that a message appeared and said that this phone has been lost. i tried to restore it again but i need the previous owner's apple id and password.

The Apple ID and Password that was Originally used to Activate the iDevice is required
If you do not have that information you will not be able to use the Device.

You haven't told us exactly what kind of messages you are getting when you try to start the device. If you are asked to log into icloud with an ID and password, then if the previous owner had an icloud account defined and Find My iPhone turned on, then you won't be able to start it until you get the ID and password from the previous owner. There's nothing more you can do other then to return it.

There's no way to get around it. Turn it into the police so they can find the rightful owner. You won't be able to use it anyway.

This is a user to user forum. You are not addressing Apple. It appears that you may be having issues related to Activation lock: ( http://support.apple.com/kb/PH13695). If you cannot contact the original owner to have them remove activation lock, you should return the device for a refund.
