HT201442 Just bought a brand new ipod touch a month ago and went in to iTunes. There was an update for me so I downloaded it to my ipod and then it went into recovery mode. Tried to restore it in itunes but was told this device isn't eligible. Help!!
Just bought a new ipod touch a month ago. Went into itunes to burn music and had an update to download which I did. Then I get a message that my ipod has gone into recovery mode. It's locked up with a black screen with iTunes logo and picture of a plugin on the screen. Tried to restore it as recommended but itunes said this device isn't eligible for the requested build. Error codes 3194 and 17. This is very frustrating considering the cost of the ipod and how new it is. Now what do I do? Buy another one? Can anybody fix these types of things? Is this a common occurance or am I just unlucky?
Make sure you have the Latest Version of iTunes (v11.1.5) Installed on your computer
iTunes free download from www.itunes.com/download
Then...
1: Connect the device to Your computer and open iTunes.
2: If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.

3: If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try using the Steps in this article to force the device into Recovery Mode.
Note on Recovery Mode.
You may need to try this More than Once... Be sure to Follow ALL the Steps...
Once you have Recovered your Device...
Re-Sync your Content or Restore from the most Recent Backup...

As you can see where it is labeled "AC Charger information" it states that its connected but there is no Wattage and says its not charging .

Just bought a brand new airport extreme and having trouble with it being recognized. My mac is version 10.5.8. What should I do?
The new AirPort Extreme needs the 6.x version of AirPort Utility, which comes packed in with Lion 10.7.5 or Mountain Lion 10.8.x......or......you can also configure the device using an iPhone or iPad running a recent iOS.

A few options.....
Borrow another Mac running Lion or Mountain Lion for 10-15 minutes and set it up. The Mac running 10.5.8 will be able to connect to the wireless....but it will not be able to make any changes to the configuration of the Extreme.
Update to Lion or Mountain Lion.....but check first to make sure that your Mac will support the operating system first.
Use....or borrow an iPhone or iPad to set up the Extreme -

If it is brand new, bring it back to Apple before the warranty expires, if you are using iTunes on a Mac.
If the Apple Genius Bar is 10 hours drive away then I would suggest, when you want to sync, disconnect from Internet, stop your Antivirus and sync your Ipod.
Very advisable to disconnect from Internet when you stop any Antivirus program. -

I just bought a brand new Cannon GL2 camcorder and I am trying to import some video footage into Final Cut Pro version 5.01. Whenever I put up the Log and Capture screen and turn my camcorder on the computer starts to think(the spinning color wheel) and not let me do anything else not even press play unless I completely turn the camcorder off again which defeats the whole purpose of me even importing footage. I don't understand why the Log and Capture screen won't let me import any video my old Sony Digital Hi8 was importing just fine a day ago, but now that I bumped up to the GL2 for some reason the Log and Capture screen isn't doing it's job so well by the computer starting to think(the spinning color wheel) instead of working. I have used the Cannon GL1 in the past and it worked like a charm. So I don't understand why the GL2 wouldn't be any easier? It is just giving me this problem and I don't know wether it's the firewire bus or what? Can someone please help me with my dilemma?
Ha...ha..very funny...but ah yeah from reading other posts on the "Canon" GL2 I figured out that you can't have multiple devices plugged into the firewire bus at the same time while you're importing video into Final Cut Pro. That's a HUGE bummer...thanks guys for your help you where fast and reliant. But now I have another problem my internal hard drive only has 4 GB out of 75 GB and my applications take up at least 40 GB of space. How am I going to connect my 600 GB external hard drive to the computer and import footage at the same time? Can you guys help me with this now?

Just bought a brand new iphone 5. But the battery doesnt even last. I have changed all the location services n all. Still it doesnt last even half day. And the usage isnt heavy. My wife is using it, so it doesnt have a heavy usage. Tried every thing.
Gidday, I had the same problem when I bought my iPhone 5. If you drain the battery right down to nothing until it is completely flat and then recharge it 100%, drain it again, and fully charge it you should be good to go.

There was some updayts for my iPad 4 automatically downloaded. After installing it, the iPad began to restart itself every few minutes.
I tryed to update my iPad using iTunes. After connecting to MacBook Pro, where is installed all latest software, iPad is recognised as "iPad", Serial Number: n/a. iTunes run recovery mode, trying to restore iPad firmware, and in the end unknown error occured (3). Tried many times, not results. And now iPad stays only in recovery mode, can't switch it off. How can I solve this problem please?When I restart my iPad the connect to iTunes comes up and stays on until it shuts down again, I have read a report from Apple support suggesting I reinstall iTunes so I might try that again and also your suggestion which i shall also try, but thanks again - rg1547

Try authorize this computer in the store menu in Itunes. This worked for me. It seems that this is an account problem on iTunes.

The ! sign before the song means that the actual song is no longer on your computer and/or iTunes library.

I just bought a brand new Photoshop CS5.
I just bought a brand new Photoshop CS5. When I start the installing from the cd I have to type in my serial number, which is <serial number removed> The installer says "This serial number is used for Photoshop CS5" all is good. After installing the program, I start it for the first time. Then I have to type in my serial number again for Photoshop CS5 Extended Trial, but now it says "This serial number is not valid for this product".

Is anyone as frustrated as i am...just bought a brand new 13" powerbook to find that I can't load my adobe creative suite 2.3 software using the lion os! I need solutions that do not involve spending more $$$$ one the newest CS version. After googling problem, I find I am not the only one. Apple told me Creative Suite 3 would work, but others said no. Version 5.5 seems to be most reliable. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

it seemed to have backed up everything just before the software update 6.1.4. so after the full restore i restored from backup and its all still there (mostly)

In case that link stops working, what I did was I exited iTunes, and then manually edited my hosts. The process is this:
Go to the hosts file. For Mac OS X this is located at: /etc/hosts or /private/etc/hosts and in Windows it is located at: c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
Open the hosts file with Administrative privileges so that changes can be made and saved (eg: sudo nano /etc/hosts)
Look for a line that resembles something like this:
74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com
Put a # in front of that to comment it out, making it now look like this:
# 74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com
Save the hosts file (control + O)
Flush DNS cache and restart iTunes
Essentially, anything with a gs.apple.com address, put a # and a space in front of it. Then, AFTER that, I flushed my DNS cache. The article says to do that before, but I found doing it after manually editing the hosts was the only way to get it to work. Here's how:
Quit out of iTunes and open the Terminal in OS X Lion, then type:
dscacheutil -flushcache
Then you should be good to go. Hope this takes you less time to fix than it did for me. Cheers!
