HT201472 is it possible to track an ipad through seeing what purchases have been made on the ipad using the serial number?
Does anyone know if there's a way to track an ipad that has been stolen other than the methods already commonly used. For example is it possible to somehow use the ipads serial number in order to see any payments made on that specific device or for the device?
Apple (and no one else) can not assist (with serial number or iCloud) in finding a lost or stolen iPad.
Report to police along with serial number. Change all your passwords.

1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Using a computer's browser, log into icloud.com and look at the Find My iPhone page. Or - on a device, invoke the Find My iPhone app and log into the icloud account. Note: The Find My iPhone **app** does not turn on the service, you can only do that through Settings>icloud.
If the device is listed as "offline", then one of the requirements listed above is not met (like being connected to wifi, or if the device was stolen and the thief reset it).

I have an iPad 2, connecting via Wifi to an Actiontec Q1000 modem. The iMac (3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB 1067 MHz RAM, running OS 10.8.2) is also hard wired to the same modem. Internet access is via CenturyLink. Main email is from Shaw cable in Calgary (Phoenix is a vacation property), not through CenturyLink.
Can receive email on the iMac, but every time I try to send, I get a pop up saying "Cannot send message using the server .......". Further prompts me to verify the address in the email, and SMTP settings in Mail preferences, or to select a different outgoing mail server. I've tried using a number of servers, always the same result.
Using same settings in both devices.Mail is not my forte, but what I noticed was that you have Centurylink and presumably have your Mail set up with their settings? But then you mention Shaw/vacation property/etc - you can send out email only through the server that you have set up as an account using the ISP you are using. If you switch places, do you have separate accounts set up with both Centurylink and Shaw so you can switch and use whichever one you're at? A Phoenix ISP won't work with a Mail POP account unless you're in your home - Phoenix - area.
Do you have a data plan with your iPad? That would explain why that works - it'll function sort of like a cellphone - works anywhere where there are signals. -
I started with one itunes account for my iphone and ipad, and now have a second ipad linked to the same itunes. Can I set up a new itunes account for one ipad without losing what has already been downloaded on it? I want to stop my husbands downloads appearing on my ipad, and vice versa.
A much simpler solution would be to go into Settings > Store and turn off Automatic Downloads

They can share an Apple ID, but each device must use a different email address when setting up FaceTime. Create a gmail email (or hotmail, or ...) address and use that on one of the devices when you setup FaceTime.
You don't actually have to use the 'new' email address, it is probably just used as an index to reference the correct device when initiating a call via the FaceTime server. -
I opened up my pages app and the document i needed opened up automatically, i turned away from my ipad to log onto my computer only to find when i look back at my ipad that ALL my documents have been deleted!! It is very important i get these back as i have an assignment to hand in tomorrow and ALL my revision is on their for my exam in 4 days time. please please please help me get my documents back onto my ipad? I have an IPad mini WiFi (not cellular) and an IPhone 5. I use the bluetooth connection between both devices when on the road. I downloaded a navigation system on my IPad using GPS positioning. Is the Bluetooth connection working to use GPS positioning on the IPad using IPhone 5 as the hotspot?

So the contacts were synced to the computer you no longer have? You could use a free app like MCBackup and email the contacts from the ipad to yourself and open the email on your phone and then import the contacts from the email to the phone

i can't see my purchased apps in itunes on new ipad mini. when I go into the itunes store. It shows nothing. I haven't changed my ID or country of purchase. Yes I am looking in the app store. When I look in Itunes on my computer and look at purchased apps it is there. And when I go on my other device and look at apps purchased all apps are there.
The new ipad doesn't show any apps purchased when I click on apps purchased and when I search the app store it doesn't show it is purchased. I am wondering if I am just missing something...need to turn something on in options or something. Never had this problem with previous ipad when I set it up.
