HT201493 When I use the find my friend app Its says ME

When I use the find my friend app to notify me when my wife has left her class it tells me that I have left (John Doe has left) instead of telling me that friend ABC has left. So if I am checking to see that everyone is on their way and I have Notify activated regardless who its reporting on it say I (John Doe) has left. In short It just tells me that I have left no matter who I’m checking on.

You state you configured your iCloud account on your iPhone 5 but the Find My iPhone app says it's not registered.
Did you actually enable Find My iPhone on the phone?
iCloud: Set up Find My iPhone
Set up an iOS device
On your device’s Home screen, tap Settings, then tap iCloud.
If you’re asked to sign in, enter your Apple ID or, if you don’t have one, tap Get a Free Apple ID, then follow the instructions.
If Find My iPhone (or Find My iPad or Find My iPod) is turned off, tap to turn it on.
Tip: For added security, set up a passcode that needs to be entered before anyone can access the apps and information on your device. To set up a passcode, go to Settings > Passcode or Touch ID & Passcode. If your device has iOS 5 or iOS 6, go to Settings > General > Passcode Lock.
Again, it's under Settings > iCloud > Find My iPhone (at the bottom).

Have you tried getting the password reset via http://iforgot.apple.com ?
If you can't get your password reset via that page then try contacting Support in your country, they should be able to reset it for you.

What you mean by 'buy and create a new id', it's free to create iTunes accounts. But until you've logged out of your existing account, you won't be able to log into a new account.

How can I turn my ipod on remotely so that I can use the Find my Iphone app (sound mode) to find it

I have a ipod 5 gen and I lost it somewhere around the house. I've used the Find My Iphone app, but it indicates that its offline. So I'm guessing it ran out of battey or its turned off. That's why I am asking if theres anyway that I could turn my ipod back on in order for the sound to be played from FMI app. Thanks alot for any future help.

You can't, When off it is dead
- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.

You need to use the Find My iPhone app (in the itunes store - free). When invoking it on a device, you enter the ID password of the account the lost device is connected to. You can also use a computer's browser and log into icloud.com.

From what I have read, you obviously have an idea or are sure who has your device? As roaminggnome says, report to the police, and give them this information if you are sure of it.

You can use the find my phone app on your phone if you want, however there doesn't seem much point, since you will have it in your hand when you are using it and therefore know where it is.
You can enable the find my phone feature through settings >Icloud, and then track your phone at iCloud.com, should it be lost or stolen.

The only thing you might do is enable Lost Mode, which will allow you to set a passcode on it (as well as a message and phone number where you can be reached) so it will be locked when and if it does go online. In the meantime, you may want to change your passwords.

Does she have her own iCloud account? You can have more than one iCloud account installed on a device, and some users install a secondary iCloud account which is common to others in the family to allow "Find My iPhone" to be used from one account while keeping separate iCloud contacts, mail, etc.
But with iOS 7 although you can still have multiple iCloud accounts installed, only the "primary" iCloud account supports "Find my iPhone". So if her iCloud account is the primary, you can no longer track her from your iCloud account. Is that what happened in your case?

The Find My IPhone app is used to find OTHER lost devices, it does nothing to make your device "findable". To make it findable, you must turn on "Find My IPhone" in settings. And than you need location services on. This however does not guarantee that you'll always find it if lost. A thief can set it to factory settings, even remove the sim card. Then it'll be unfindable.
