HT201628 im try ing to reinstall my iphone but it says there is no sim card in the phone when there is ??

i am trying to install updated software on the phone but itunes keeps coming up with the message that there is no sim card in the phone even though i have not removed it can anyone help please ??

The phone was jailbroken or illegally unlocked and when you upgraded the phone to the newest OS.

    If you are running Windows and it stops on the first stage of a sync then my suggestion is to uninstall AppleDeviceSupport version 2.0.1 and re-install 1.5.2.

    Those instructions are to fix a different problem, but it fixes the problem with syncing devices stopping on the first stage (backing up the device) too. The AppleDeviceSupport 2.0.1 comes with Quicktime 7.7 and, I believe, the latest Safari version.
    I'm running XP, so used the Everything search program (http://www.voidtools.com/download.php) to find the directories with the AppleDeviceSupport installers (they have the extension .msi and the version in the directory name) and right-mouse-buttoned them to do the uninstall and install. Note you need a reboot afterwards. (Actually I just sorted out the service in the Service Manager, but that's a longer explaination and a reboot works fine).

    Before updating, import all you photos to your computer (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083) and back up your contacts (by syncing them with iCloud or another service such as Google, with a supported application such as Outlook or Address Book, or using an app like My Contacts Backup.  Then open iTunes, click on the name of your phone on the left side, go to the Summary tab to the right and click on Check for Update.

  • I am having trouble with my iphone5. I finally had SFR after 2 hours or more waiting to switch the service of the sim card. The phone worked finally but after upgrading my itunes, the iphone 5 will not even let me sign in nor give password.

The phone finally worked after 2 hrs or more and since I upgraded my itunes, the phone is blocked. It will only let me after being turned on unlock the phone. Once I get to ID apple and password, I can put it in but, then it says it has timed out. It also says I cannot connect to the server. What is going on???
    I am in France and there is no Apple Store open on Sunday, my phone service is closed as well.

    I think you can solve your problems by removing your AppleID email address from BOTH the Messages setting on your iPhone and the iMessages settings on your Mac.
    On iPhone:
    Settings > Messages > iMessage > Dissabled
    Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > touch the "(i)" < touch "Remove This Email"
    On Mac:
    Open "Messages" application
    Click "Messages menu > Preferences
    Click "Accounts"
    Select your AppleID account
    Under the "You can be reached for messages at" settings, uncheck your AppleID email address and your phone number
    Then uncheck the "Enable this account" setting
    And lastly, ask all of your friends with iPhones to delete all iMessage conversations (blue bubbles) in their entirety.
    To test, send a friend a new text using their phone number (not their email address) and watch the color of the bubble.  If it's green then you are using SMS.

    If FindMyiPhone was turned on, you can trace it as you said, the thief cannot turn that off (iOS7). He can not use it. You can send a message and make your iPhone a dead brick, as soon as he iPhone connects to internet. Tell the police where you see it.

    This message is displayed when there is not enough storage space available in your iCloud Storage to complete your backup. You can either reduce the amount of data you are backing up under Backup Options, or you can buy more storage.

    That does happen.  It depends on how hard the server is being hit, as well as the connection speed of your system.  If you are on a windows system, you will want to disable any antivirus or firewall software during the download.

    What computer operating system is involved in the Premiere Elements 11 and 13 issues? Same computer or different ones? Are you installing from purchased download installation files or from purchased installation disc? Does Premiere Elements 11 work completely on this computer whereas 13 will not?
    Let us go through the typical drill so as to take nothing for granted.
    1. Does the problem exist with or without the antivirus and firewall(s) disabled? Are you working with an individual home computer or in a
    school or company network?
    2. Are you running the program as Administrator and is there any "domain" account involved?
    3. Is your video card/graphics card up to date according to the web site of the manufacturer of the card?
    4. Do you have the latest version of QuickTime installed on the computer with Premiere Elements?
    Let us start by ruling in or out any of the above, and then we can decide what next.
    Any questions or need clarification, please do not hesitate to ask.

  • Does an iPhone 3G have to have a valid SIM card in it to complete an authorized unlock from AT

    Have a 3G now superceded by a 4S.  AT&T is the network.  Want to unlock the 3G so it can be used in Mongolia.
    Requested an unlock from AT&T and it was authorized but when I connect the 3G to iTunes and do a backup and restore I don't get the unlock confirmation.  THe SIM card in it is the old AT&T SIM card which is now invalidated because the 4S has the new miniature SIM card.
    AT&T support doesn't know if the SIM card in the iPhone when I complete the unlock has to be valid or even if there must be a SIM card in the phone or not.

    No carrier "automatically" unlocks at end of contract - many won't do it at all, even if requested.  I don't know what your carrier's policy is since you didn't say what country you're in.
    However, if I understand you correctly, you didn't change carriers so it doesn't matter if it was unlocked or not. Try the following steps, as needed:
    1. Reset phone - press both home and sleep/wake buttons for at least 19 seconds until the Apple logo appears
    2. Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
    3. Restore phone in iTunes using a backup
    4. Replace SIM card (don't care what Telstra says)
    5. Restore phone in iTunes as new, without using a backup
    6. Take phone to Apple.
