On the hope that latest version of itunes will work more for me, I downloaded the itunes version 12 recently. But to my surprise the sync button is not there even if I connect the ipod ( classic iOS 1.3 version). My ipod serial No.is 8L730BL1V9M and it is ipod classic with buttonwheel. I am having 32bit Windows vista home premium and using DELL system. How I can find sync button and for your information, the itunes player window shows every song I have in the library and I cannot sync the songs to my ipod. Hitherto there was no such problem for playing and copying songs from and to my ipod. What is the remedy ? please tell if anybody knows.

load the current version of I tunes on the laptop and sync the pod. Then sync the phone - you can select all or as much of the music you want to.
Also - if the music on the pod was purchased from the itune store in the first place, you should be able to redownload it to the phone for free, as long as you are using the same apple id that it was bought with.

Therefore, after installing iTunes on your new computer, sign into your account and see all your music under "Purchsed". Then simply download it to be phisically present onto your computer (for free since you've already paid for it). On the other hand if you happens to not be a sucker to waist money on iTunes and your collection was ripped from the internet (via torrents and such), you can follow this guide to move iPod music back to computer. Let's stick with the question asked: I think it depends on who and what your relationship is to the 'family member' is and where you live. You may be unable to download the music of your husband, wife, or domestic partner (where legal) from their account to yours but that doesn't make it illegal to assert ownership. I may be wrong (and I doubt it), but music that is legally owned by you is legally jointly owned by you and your partner if you are married or in a legal domestic partner relationship regardless of whether Apple recognizes that relationship with their willingness or unwillingness to merge two i-Tunes accounts. And certainly, one NEVER has to own music to LISTEN to it.
Now some will not like that answer, but I suspect they use Microsoft products, or don't buy music from i-Tunes.

iCloud does not store messages for you to see/access at icloud.com. It does back up messages so you can restore your iPhone if it ever needs to be reset to factory default. A backup is an image of all your data on the iPhone, and if you delete some messages, then they won't be part of any further backups.
If two people use the same iCloud account, then their devices are kept in sync, just like a single user's multiple devices are kept in sync. It's usually a good idea to have separate accounts for two people, since it's rarely the case that they want each phone to be an exact replica of the other.
Your iphone syncs contacts, events, camera roll, and many other things without the use of a computer.

Try this.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
However it appears that no playlists or any other info such as ratings/last played etc will transfer.
If this is important to you, you may want to use other options.
There's Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music and playlists etc from iPod to iTunes.
