HT201882 reprint of book made with iPhoto?

Many years ago I made a book for my wife in iPhoto.  Is there any way to order a reprint of the same book? I no longer have the book/project in my iphoto library.

For future books you might consider doing what I do:  create a separate library for each book and copy the photos for the book from your working library to the book library with iPhoto Library Manager.
When the book is completed and ordered burn the library package to a CD, DVD or external HD to archive it so it's available for editing and reordering at a later date if needed.

  • Need to reprint photo book created with iPhoto & My Publisher

I created two photo books in December of 2006 via iPhoto and used the My Publisher plugin to use that service for output. Anyway, I gave the book as a gift and now I would like to make a copy for myself. The problem is that My Publisher cannot reprint these books... this was verified today by one source at MP.
So, what are my options, I strongly prefer the MP option (that's not available) because I wanted an exact copy and the price is right (about half of what Apple charges last I checked).
BTW: These two books were created with two different versions of iPhoto... maybe v5 & v6.
    Thanks,
    Robert

    So, what are my options,
If My Published will not reprint for you then that is not a choice
So your choices are to order from Apple or redo the book for some other source of your choice

  • Buy a photo book made with iPhoto 08?

I've made a photo book on an iMac running 10.8.5 with iPhoto 08 (7.1.5). When I pressed "buy", it said it was not possible with this version. I can't upgrade the machine or software (it's not my machine). Is there a work-around? Is there a way of exporting the finished project so that I can import it and buy it on a more up-to-date machine? Thanks.

You can purchase your book from other sources - google is your friend - one source  to look at is PrestoPrint
You can upgrade to iPhoto '11 by purchasing an iLife '11 DVD from Amazon or eBay and installing iPhoto '11 and upgrading to the latest version or system supports
You can make a copy of your entire iPhoto library (there is no way to export a book except as a DF which can not be used to order from Apple and can not be edited) and open it on a Mac with iphoto '-9 or '11 and order -
Before ordering your book preview it using this method - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040 - and save the resulting PDF for reference - the delivered book will match it. - check the preview carefully as i is possible that some things change when you change versions

  • Backup made with iPhoto 6

Will a backup made with iPhoto 6 work or read on 1 photo8?
    Thanks

If the disk was burned via iPhoto's Share->Burn Disk menu option then, yes, it will be compatible and viewable by iPhoto 7. Event earlier backup disks, iPhoto 5, are readable and useable by iPhoto like this. You can just view the photos or drag them into the new library.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • I have a Mac Book Pro with iPhoto version 9.5.1 Can I delete more that one photo at a time?  Thanks!!

I have Mac Book Pro with iPhoto version 9.5.1.  Is there a way to delete more than one photo at a time?  Thanks!!!

    Hi LarryJackie,
When you go into Photos (or an Album or Event), click on the first photo you want to delete. If you want to delete a whole selection of photos in a row, hold down the Shift key, and then click on the last photo in the section you want to delete. All of the photos will be selected. Then click on Photos in the top menu and click on Move to Trash.
If you want to select photos that are not in a row, then click on the first photo, then hold down the Command key, then click on other photos you want to select. Keep the Command key held down until you have selected all of the photos you want. Then click on Photos in the top menu and then Move to Trash.
    Cheers,

  • I am unable to order a book created with iPhoto.

I am unable to order a book created with iPhoto. It has never happened to me before and I have ordered plenty of books in the past few years. Any ideas why the order button is suddenly greyed out?

  • Authoring a book made with iBook app cannot be sold anywhere else?

Is it true that books made with the iBook Author app and sold through the iBook store can't be sold anywhere else? If so, I sure hope people in here are aware of that. Just an FYI
    I found this on http://ca.finance.yahoo.com/news/apple-absolute-worst-thinks-owns-221600501.html
Dan Wineman pointed out on his blog that Apple's End User License Agreement (EULA) states that books made with the iBook Author app and sold through the iBook store can't be sold anywhere else.
However, if you offer your book for free in the iBooks store, then you can distribute it for free anywhere else you want. Wow, how generous of apple... Just because you use their software??? What a joke

    erichfromwa wrote:
Part of Apple's licensing agreement states that if you sell your .ibook generated file, that it must be done through the iBookstore.
You can distribute free copies anywhere you please without issue.
If export the content from an iBooks Author file (.iba) into another format (say via copy and paste, pdf export, etc...), you are free to do that; you own the rights to your own content.

I just watched a pod-cast about iBook app. They talked about the licensing for the iBook app. Exporting an iBook to a PDF (or to another format) can't be sold outside the iBook store.

  • Can I convert a book made in iPhoto to a quicktime movie for the web?

    Hi,
Please help, I have a great book that I have made in iPhoto and had printed but would like to post it to my mac website for people to be able to view with all the photos, titles, and audio. Is this possible?
    Thanks.
    Jim

    James:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. There are two ways you can do that.
While in the book mode, do a Print to PDF in the Print window but select the Send PDF to iPhoto option. This will start an Automator process that converts each page to a jpg file and imports it into a user determined album in iPhoto. NOTE: when the process is complete and it's time for you to name or select an album a window will be presented. BUT if often stays behind the other windows and you'll think the process has failed. So make sure you can hide the other windows if it doesn't present itself to you. It took me several tries before I realized what was happening.
Once the pages are in iPHoto as separate files, you can try:
1 - put them in an album and add to an iWeb photo page where they can be viewed individually or as a slideshow.
2 - create a slideshow in iPHoto, export to Quicktime and post that QT movie file to an iWeb page.
3 - create an iDVD project, add a slideshow and import the stills into iDVD to create a slideshow with music. A great gift to go along with a book. This method is explained in Tutorial #6.
    Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. • Will the photo book made in iPhoto 06 convert okay in iPhoto 09?

I could not order a photobook made in iPhoto 06 in my country (which is now available with 09). So if I upgrade to iPhoto 09, will my photobook be intact when I have upgraded to 09?
    Ths

    Sort of
iPhoto '09 has some new themes and some old ones go away so that can be an issue or not depending the theme you used, the layouts you used and some luck
See Liz Castro's web page for examples of the iPhoto '09 themes and layouts - http://www.lizcastro.com/iphotobookthemes/pmwiki.php?n=Main.FamilyAlbum
And there are many more options and layouts in iPhoto '09

  • How to recover a book created with iphoto

Hi!!! I need all your help instructing me on where I can find and how I can recover manually from a Time Machine backup a book created in iphoto....??? Thanks!!!

you can not "recover a book" - a book is just entries in the iPhoto database and you ahve to recover the entire iPhoto database that has the book in it
launch TM and go back to the time you want to recover and click recover - it generally is best to select the option to keep both versions so you do not overwrite your current library
You can switch between libaries by doing an option-launch and using the select library option

  • Can I transfer a book, made in iphoto, to a different computer so that I can order it?

I created a book in iPhoto 08 and when I click the "buy" button a "connecting" pop-up appears but nothing ever happens after that. It just remains semi-frozen. I've left it open for hours with no change. My internet connection appears to be strong and my one click purchasing is enabled. Can I export my book to another computer with a more current version of iPhoto...and would that be a solution?
    Please help.

    Probably not
What version of iPhoto do you have? What version does the other computer have?
The only way to "move" a book is to move the iPhoto library intact - When you move to a newer version the library must be upgraded and this may invalidate or change the book - you may want to make a special "archive" library for jus tthe book to make this easier - see Old Toad's Tutorial #9 for more information.
    Have you previewed the book?
Before ordering your book preview it using this method - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1040 - and save the resulting PDF for reference - the delivered book will match it.
have your backedup and repaired or rebuilt your library?
