HT202157 ATV3: How to set audio out to SPDIF?

After updating the Apple TV3 to software version 5.2.1 my amplifier no longer plays the music that should be coming from the Apple TV. I did nothing with the wiring or cables, the only thing that changed is the software update, everything worked fine with the previous software version. I cannot find a menu-option to force audio over the SPDIF to make sure that the Apple TV addresses the right outputs. How can I fix this? Or is it a known issue, to be resolved in a next software update, and I am to do without iTunes music in my livingroom for the time being? Best regards, Bas

Oops, solved it (plug the powercord to the SPDIF-2-RCA adapter back into the power outlet), my bad. Best regards, Bas

how to set the out point  in Motion 5 beyond 9.95 seconds???

First you need to make sure your project is long enough then you can adjust the play range (in/out). To make sure the project is long enough:
    1. From the project properties (command-J) go to the Duration field and enter a new duration.
    2. Click on the down arrow icon to the right of the current time, there is an option to show the project duration. Once set to this you can double click the number and type in a new project duration. I'd recommend setting it back to show current time when done.
    3. Of course you can also change the duration of a project when it is first created, in the project browser.
Once you're sure you have a long enough project you can adjust the in and out range.  You then use the zoom controls in the bottom of the timeline to show more of the timeline and adjust the play range as needed. There's lots more about project and play range duration adjustments in the documentation: http://help.apple.com/motion/mac/5.1/

  • How to record audio out from a portable player

Hi, I have a MacBook Air.  I want to capture the audio out (3.5mm jack) from an old SONY minidisk recorder into the Air.  I tried to plug speakers into the SONY and letting the internal mic capture the speaker sounds, but the quality wasn't crisp.  Can anyone recommend  a direct way (presumably thru USB) that ensures better quality?  Thanks.
BTW, the contents I am capturing are voice journals on mini-disc my grand father had recorded since the mid-90's before he pass recently.

Take a look at the Griffen iMic. I have used it to capture audio from a portable cassette player. I used iTunes to store the tracks.

  • MSI Z97 Gaming 7.. No Audio out of SPDIF / USB Audio low / SB Cinema Crashes

I use a TOS for my speakers and I'm not getting any audio out.  I have S/PDIF selected as default under Audio in control panel.   Not sure if the "SB Cinema" works on the digital side, but it crashes all the time when I open it.  My USB Logitech 930 is up all the way.  The audio is very low. Running Win8.1 and BIOS 1.10..  I'm about to update to 1.50

Sorry can't help you much with the audio issue, although something doesn't sound right (no pun intended).  SB should be working.  I have the same board as you with a 4790k and my SB works great, but I don't have it running at startup.
Just be careful with the BIOS update to v1.5.  You'll be rolling the dice to try it.  I'm still reeling from frustration with my Gaming 7 board and BIOS updates.  I borked BIOS A with a bad flash from "M Flash" and now am running on the backup BIOS B.  I did manage though to get BIOS B updated to v1.5 though just tonight.  But A is still down for the count.
At least my system is running great on BIOS B.  Thank God for these dual BIOS'es.

  • How to get audio out of speaker with angry birds app?

How do I get audio from the internal speaker for my angry birds app.? Only audio is through the head phone jack......

Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the iPod and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. The function that isn't on the side switch is set via the taskbar instead : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085

  • How to set audio hardware input channels for narration & to what?

Searched forum - hope I didn't miss solution for the following:
    Using PE3 in Windows XPSP3
Tried for the first time to add narration to a project. Was using a stereo/microphone headset. Got nothing but noise. Could record in Windows recorder and Audacity. However, the microphone as part of the set would not work in Windows Audio Hardware Test Wizard. The set was using a sound chip on the motherboard.
A friend of mine has the same OS, motherboard and is using PE3. He too had never tried adding narration - but tried with a USP connected set, and was successful.
I removed my stereo set, and connected a USB set. To make sure all settings were reset, I did a cold reboot. The USB set worked in Windows Audio Test Wizard. I opened my project again, and in Edit/Preferences/Audio Hardware, clicked AIIO Settings. Unchecked the old set (Realtek) in both the Output and Input Ports area, checked the USB Audio Device, moved to the top of both lists.
Then tried to add narration and got the error message "Your current audio hardware selection does not have any input channels. Please use Preferences>Audio Hardware to correct this problem.
Thinking that maybe this was a preset for the project and couldn't be changed, I started a new project, no video, just tried to add narration, and got the same message.
The entries in the columns in the ASIO Direct Sound for Full Duplex Setup menu for the USB Audio Device in the Input section are: 2048, 0, 1, 16, Yes
The only one of these that seems to be able to be adjusted is the second number - the Offset (Samples). The Audio Channels number is set to 1 and doesn't seem to be changeable. Suggestions?

When working with Audio in most NLE's, i.e. Premiere Elements, or Pro, there are basically three areas that can affect how the Audio is handled on one's system. First, there is the Sound settings in Windows (from Control Panel). Next, the Audio card/chip probably/possibly has a console to make settings at the card/chip level. Last, and these are really two locations, but I'm only counting them as one since they are both in the NLE - Edit>Preferences>Audio & Audio Hardware. This is where Steve is referring to. Check all settings, and I'd suggest doing so in the order that I listed them above: OS, Audio card, then Premiere. A Mute, or by-pass in the first two, can override the settings in Premiere, and you may have its setting correct, but still not be able to effectively use your hardware.
The exact settings chosen will depend on the exact hardware that is properly installed. Without knowing all of your hardware and other settings elsewhere, one cannot give you a definitive answer. Ideally, in the settings drop-downs, you *should* see your hardware listed. Look closely, as these can be a bit cryptic.
If you are still unable to get your hardware working properly, a fourth place to look would be Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager for your Audio hardware. Check that Device Manager sees your hardware, and that it is working properly.
If all is set up properly, but still not working, report back with exact specs on your system, including all of your Audio hardware. There are possibly some more steps that can be taken. I will not mention them now, as they *should not* be needed. If you do need further assistance, please list every option in all of the drop-down lists from Premiere, so we can know what your choices are.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • How to set time out in the abap program?

    Hi,
I want to set the execution time in the IN_UPDATE block of a BADI, could you tell me how to code that?
When the specified execution time reaches, and the badi is still running, then pop up a window and tell the end user the time out message.
Does SAP have any function regarding this? Thanks in advance.

You can have the INPUT be a number of seconds, then calculate the max endtime = SY-UZEIT + INPUT. Have checks throughout the program that returns an error as OUTPUT if exittime >= SY-UZEIT(current time).
There may be an easier way but this is all I can think of as a user set timeout option.

  • How to fix: audio out of sync

I converted a Keynote presentation to Quicktime.  On one slide, there is a video clip (quicktime file).  The video clip runs fine on it own and when inserted into the slide show in Keynote.  The problem is after I convert the whole thing to Quicktime.  The movie plays fine, except the sound on the embedded QT video clip is now out of sync.  Does anyone know why this is happening and how to fix?
    Here's what I've tried:
    - Deleting the the QT video clip from the Keynote presentation and reinserting it, the converting the whole presentation to Quicktime again.  The video clip's audio is still out of sync.
    - Created a new video clip in iMovie, exported as QT file.  And reinserted it into the Keynote presentation, then again converted to QT, but video clip's audio remains out of sync.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
    Thanks

I have the same problem. Have not had it before....all of a sudden sound is not in sync, when recording from the camera in the computer. I use imovie 11, 9.0.8 not in sync....why how to fix it?

  • How to set audio instruments to record in left and right channels

I am a new Logic express user. I am using a PreSonus FireWire to in put guitars and mic's. If I use Logic Express to record my guitars from input 1 I only get sound out of the right channel. If I use input 2 I only get sound out of the left channel. If I use the Garage Band tab to input the same instruments plugged into either channels 1 or 2 on my PreSonus I get sound from both the left and right channels together. There must be a simple fix I am missing in Logic. If anyone can help me I would I would appreciate it.

    Hi t,
    welcome to the forum!
There's nothing wrong with your set-up!
    MONO inputs to mono tracks,
from the mono track you can add mono to stereo plug-ins and benefit from that.
In garage band you have a mono input that showing a stereo channel, that's what what I have explain above. In Logic it's a blody waste of HD space (not to say wrong) as you recording a mono file to stereo.
Think bigger and pratical now T, those things make all the sence,
GB is so easy that can confuse us about the real thing because it's hidden from your eyes.
    Kindly regards,
    Jorge

  • After Effects CS4 | How to set multiple out destinations at once

I know that if you have multiple items in the render queue you can control-click on the Output Module and set all of the selected items to the same Output Module.  I am wondering if there is a way to set the render destination (Output To) of multiple compositions at once as well.  It's not uncommon for me to have well over 20 compositions that all need to render to the same folder.  It becomes a pain when I need to click on each and tell them where to go individually.
    Any insights are appreciated.

    Exactly as Todd said.

  • How to set audio time in keynote 6.1?

I bought keynote 6.1 in oder to import a powerpoint presentation into Final Cut Express.  The audo files seem to be present once opened in keynote. But all duration is missing.  Six songs are included in the original ppt.  They played for a duration of 5 to 13 slides in ppt.  In keynote they sometimes play on the slide on which they open then quit at the end of that slide. The keynote user guide says click on the media tab then on the the speaker icon.  There is no such tab on the tool bar.  Therefore no speaker icon.  Ther is a speaker icon on the slide. Left clic does nothing. Right click allows "delete" etc.
If it were not someone elses presentation I have to include in the DVD I would have done the whole thin in Final Cut. Very frustrating.

Renaming a PowerPoint file doesnt create a sound file.
The Sound files that PowerPoint uses are contained in the folder that also contains the PowerPoint file:

Your Mac does not have a thunderbolt port, but has a mini display port instead. It will not output sound so you will have to get sound through a aux cable.

  • How can I find out the audio sampling rate of BetacamSP tape?

    Hi guys
I'm trying to digitize BetacamSP tape. But I'm afraid if I might choose wrong setting...
This tape is from very long time ago so we don't know which audio sampling rate we recorded with..
How can I find out the audio sampling rate of this BetacamSP tape?
    Thanks:)

The sampling rate is set by the Sony DVMCDA2 you are using, when the conversion is made from the analog input to the digital (DV) output. You should be outputting standard DV which is 16bit 48khz audio.
Assuming you are in the US, your Easy Setup for FCP should be DV-NTSC, and then open the Log and Capture Pane and set the Capture Settings Device Control to Non-Controlable Device and you should be good to go.
You will have to roll the deck manually and start and end your capture manually.
You can download a user manual for the DVMCDA2 by clicking here.
