on most tv one have to manually choose the imput source as in hdmi port for it to display on your tv
test it with another tv to verify if it's broken

You can't do much else besides pull the plug. If it causes further problems you should be able to restore as below:
Get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
Open iTunes.
Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.
On the other hand you may be able to simply start the update again. If however the update continues to fail, you should try the restore routine above. -

No video signal when connecting Blu Ray player
I have a new blu ray player and HDMI cable. It will play just fine when connected to little cheap TV but my large Toshiba will just show No video signal when I try to connect it and use it. I have tried everything, read the whole manual, searched online help, called the support phone number which just directed me back to the online support. Nothing has helped.
Also when using my old DVD player with the 3 component cables, I never get any color, just black and white picture.The TV likely has a shared video input. You need to tell it in the settings whether you're using a composite or component device. If you have a composite device connected and the TV thinks it's a component device, it'll show up in black and white. What model number is your TV? I'll tell you change the setting once I know what TV you have.
Also, to what specific port is the new Blu-ray player connected?
