  • I am trying to download apps but all that is happening is that I get a waiting under the app. I am downloading from the app store. This has been going on for 3 days now, I can sync it to my PC and it will download the app but that's not what I want. Thank

I am trying to download apps but all that happens is the icon appears with a "waiting" underneath it. Updates do the same and so I am not able to download anything. I have rebooted the iPad this hasn't helped. I am able to sync the iPad with my PC and this updates everything. I would however not have to do this constantly. Any ideas on how to solve this download issue.
    Thanks

turn your ipad off by holding the sleep wake button for 5 seconds and slide to turn off then turn it back on and the apps should be finished and if the apps didnt finish just redownload them

  • I rented a movie The King's Speech. But I couldn't download it because I kept receiving an error message saying "An error occurred loading this content. Try again later." However, I could rent other movie and watch it. Young

I rented a movie The King's Speech. But I couldn't download it because of an error message saying "An error occurred loading this content. Try again later. I tried it several times, but I still get the same error message. I tried other movie and could download  and watched it. Therefore, I assume that only this movie makes trouble. Am I right? If I am right, should I ask a refund to Apple for this movie?

I posted the same sort of problem in the thread
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/15562522#15562522
I noticed in my instance that it is HD content that is giving me the same problem, but Standard Definition (SD) content downloads and plays no problem.
Would this be the same with you? Have you been able to download a play an HD rented movie?

  • Can't play rented movies.  They appear to download OK and the timer accurately reports days remaining to watch.  But whenever I try to play the movie I get this message, "An error occurred loading this content.  Try again later."

Can't play rented movies.  They appear to download OK and the timer accurately reports days remaining to watch.  But whenever I try to play the movie I get this message, "An error occurred loading this content.  Try again later.". Have been using the Apple TV for 2 weeks and everything else seems to work OK.  The Apple TV reports its SW is up to date.  I've tried this with two movies rented frim iTunes directly from the Apple TV.

If after you download the movie, you navigate away and do something else with your Apple TV the content you have downloaded will be overwritten and you'll need to download it again. It's a pain in the neck for many who have slow downloads but it's something that comes with using volatile memory rather than a hard drive for storage.
Perhaps you're not doing this, but I thought it worth mentioning.

  • Apple tv is not working: "an error occurred loading this content. Try again later".  Any idea?

My apple tv is not working.  I have rented 4 movies and I cannot open any of them.  My Apple TV is located in USA.  Anywy I am traveling at the moment outside US, but cannot watch my rented movies.  I get the following error message: "an error occurred loading this content. Try again later".  Any idea?  What is the solution for this issue?

I have 4-5 mbps for Downloads.  It works fine when opening websites and downloading large files from the Internet.  I have set-up my IP to "automatically" as you suggested, even though I believe this was the default setting.
I changed the resolution in Settings > Itunes Store > Video Resolution from 1080p to 720p.  Then I rented again "Salmon Fishing in the Yemen", (but now using HD 720p) and I get exactly the same error.
Then I changed it to Standard Definition and now is working.  Basically what I have found out is that if I rent movies in HD 1080p or HD 720p it will simply not work.
I believe 4-5 mbps is very fast internet connection, so the errors above should not be appearing.
Feedback for Apple TV developers is to show estimated time for full downloads when using 1080p or 720p so the user can understand what is going on. Very frustrating as I just bought the Apple TV for watching HD movies. I have a 55" HD Sony Bravia tv ready to be used... !!!

  • Apple TV 2G "An error occurred loading this content. Try again Later"

I recently got an Apple TV 2G and also upgraded my Macbook Pro to Mountain Lion. Last night I was checking out what the apple tv can do, and found an issue. I have several movies and tv shows that are in my itunes account on my Macbook Pro. When I try and play them on the apple tv, their thumb nails come up, once you select the movie it takes to to the spinning wheel of death for about 5 minutes and the comes back with an error stating "An error occured loading this content. Try again Later." I've tried reseting it, un plugging it, restarting my computer. The funny thing is that the apple tv can see the movies and can even see the thumb nail for the image but it just wont play. I also tried to airplay and it works great. Which makes me believe its not a wifi issue or a firewall issue either. I've read a few other discussion boards about the same issue with renting movies/tv shows. But theses movies are all on my home computer, and play fine on my computer too. I also tried to see if it was a certain type, but ones that I uploaded onto my computer and purchased from the itunes store both won't work. I was also watching hulu plus and that works great, so streaming doesnt seem to be a problem. If someone could please give me a few pointers on what to do before I go crazy that would be great.

I get the same response and I rented two different movies  1st thinking that the Kings Speech was just over sold. So Rented and paid for a second movie.  So I tried something else I and get the same error message and I have been trying to get the movie to download.
I have been at this for about three hours.
"An error occurred loading this content.  Try again later."
    Not good!
    How about fixing this Apple?

  • An Error Occurred Loading This Content. Try Again Later.

Hi there, I am an avid movie collector and I have been ripping my DVD collection using Handbrake over to my iMac to stream to my Apple TV 2's (3).
So far out of my large collection, I have ran into a couple movies that no matter what gives me an error.
    1. Breast Men (no jokes, it's the true story about the guys that invented breast implants )
    2. American Gigalo
    3. The Assasination of JFK.
    so far...
When I attempt to stream these, I get the natorious error message "An error occurred loaching this content. Try Again Later." All my movies are ripped from DVD, using the same settings on Handbrake etc....Here is the trouble shooting steps I have attempted.
    1. Attempted to redo rips.
    2. Played with Dolby Digital settings on Apple TV (on, auto etc.)
    3. Disconnected everything and re-econnected.
    4. Tried it on iPad and iMac, plays fine. This makes me confident it is an Apple TV and/ or streaming issue.
    5. Belive it or not, I even borrowed by buddies copy of Assination of JFK and ripped his instead....same issue??
    6. I've upgraded my router to the Apple Extreme AC...doesn't fix this issue (fast though). Hard Connected my Apple TV down stairs...still doesnt work.
I havn't gone through and tried playing back all my other older movie rips; but I suspect I will find similar issues with some of the others....again, this problem only shows up with select titles--- all things being equal.
    Good one hey?

Do the movies play in iTunes?  The ATV decoder is not very robust.  It will not tolerate any issues.  You might try re-ripping those movies in case Handbreak had an issue during the ripping process.

I get this message when trying to stream from youtube with my apple tv 2g since one week, i've restored with the new ios 5.1 but the problem still exists. i've tried with another ISP and the problem gone, so i'm wondring how it is possible.
    Any suggestions please???

  • Airplay from ipad gives error on AppleTV 2. Says "an error occured loading this content. Try again later"

I have been unable to use our AppleTV 2 for a few weeks now. I can't figure out what is wrong. I am unable to play anything via Airplay when trying to play videos from our iPad. I get the error "An error occured loading this content. Try again later". This happens only when trying to play videos from our iPad, but not videos from my iPhone. I am also unable to stream videos from our Netflix instant queue. I've tested the network, which is fine. The iOS on the iPad is up to date, as is the AppleTV 2. Any other suggestions?
update: i unplugged the apple tv for 60 seconds and its working now.

The video files are mostly M4V not MP4. I did find that if I start playback and select the ATV3 from inside iTunes, the movie will play fine. However, this is not optimal as the iMac is in another room.

  • Apple TV error "An error occured loading this content. Try again later."

I have spent literally hundreds of hours taking my DVD/Blu Ray library and creating MP4's which I have then saved on a 2TB external hard drive.  I did this so that I could play them on my Apple TV.  I then spent more time "moving" them into my iTunes library where they can then be seen via my Apple TV.  However, when I go to play one I get the following error:
An error occured loading this content. Try again later.
I tried it with numerous MP4's and the result was the same.  I have a brand new Apple TV, I'm using Lion 10.7.4 if it matters.  My iTunes version is 10.6.3.  My external drive is a Western Digital 2 TB.  All of the files are in MP4 format.
I can play them through iTunes with no problems.  They show up, I click on them, they play.  However, there is something that seems to be wrong between the Apple TV and the computer I'm using home sharing with.  I CAN play all of my music via the Apple TV.  I have not had a problem there.  I assume the external is the problem, not the drive itself but how I have it set up.
Any help or suggestions would be so great.  Thanks!
