HT202159 Mountain Lion download not resuming

I tried to download Mountain Lion with the free up-to-date program but was interrupted. I tried to download again the next day but got this message: "The product distribution file could not be verified. It may be damaged or was not signed."

Quit the App Store if it's open.
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar top of your screen click Go > Go to Folder
Type this exactly as you see it here:
/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration
Click Go
Move the NetworkInterfaces.plist file from the SystemConfiguration folder to the Trash.
Relaunch the App Store and try downloading Mountain Lion.

I have tried to download Mountain Lion multiple times and it will continuously pause and now will not resume.

If you properly pause the download, it should be able to resume without any problem.
When I downloaded Mountain Lion, I paused and resumed hours later without any problem. But when it reached 95% of the download, my internet connection dropped for like 1 minute, and when it came back, the download restarted from zero.
So as long as the internet connection is not dropping during the download, you should be able to resume.

mountain lion download interrupted and resume button not working

From the App Store menu bar top of your screen, click Store > Check for Unfinished Downloads
Keep in mind, for downloading Mountain Lion from the App Store, a high speed (broadband) internet connection is strongly recommended by Apple as noted here > iTUNES STORE - MAC APP STORE - TERMS AND CONDITIONS
If you need to reinstall OS X or repair the the startup disk using Mountain Lion Recovery, that requires broadband access to the internet via Wi-Fi or an Ethernet connection. OS X is downloaded over the internet form Apple when OS X Recovery is used for reinstallation.
You may need to temporarily disable anti virus software to download apps from the App Store including Mountain Lion.
Make sure your Mac qualifies to run Mountain Lion >  Apple - Upgrade your Mac to OS X Mountain Lion.

  • OSX Mountain Lion download not included on MBPr 15"?

    Hello everybody!
I have a Macbook pro retina 15" and just accidently bought mountain lion via appstore beacuse a thought it was free as my macbook was shipped with mountain lion. I was not logged in on my account so the buy button did say the price, I just assumed it should be free as I already have it on my mac so i pressed it and logged in on my account to proceed the download, I got a receipt of it today.
should it be this way? I just wanted to make and USB bakup of the OS for future needs. It's not alot of money, I just think it is a bit wierd.

Since your system came with Mountain Lion pre-installed you wouldn't use the App Store version as your pre-installed version is specific to that machine.
To get the InstallESD.dmg file for your version of ML you need to redownload it using the following steps:
Restart using Command+R into the Recovery HD.
Plug in an external USB drive with at least 20GB.
From the OS X Utilities menu select Reinstall OS X.
Follow the prompts and make sure you point to the external USB drive to install to.
IMPORTANT: You need to keep an eye on the download and as soon as it finishes and restarts your system (at the black screen), UNPLUG the external USB drive.
After you system restarts and you get to your Desktop, plug the external USB drive into your system and navigate to a folder name something like "OS X Install Data Files". Inside there you will find the InstallESD.dmg file.
Copy the InstallESD.dmg file to your Desktop.
Plug in a USB thumb drive (8GB). Make sure it is formated as Mac OS X Extended - Journaled and with the GUID partition table. This makes it bootable.
Open Disk Utilities; then the Restore tab.
Drag the InstallESD.dmg file to the Source text box.
Drag your USB thumb drive to the Destination text box.
Click Restore. This will create a bootable USB thumb drive with the pre-installed OS X Mountain Lion for your machine
    Good luck!

  • HT202159 Mountain Lion download stalling at 53.25mb

I am running an iMac 10,1 with Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and purchased Mountain Lion yesterday but the download stalled at 53.25mb. I have sufficient Hard drive space and Wifi signal but it won't go any further. I tried re-lanching the App Store, then re-started my Mac and then finally stopped the download and started again but it got to the same point and stopped.
Any help would be much appreciated as I have exhausted all avenues I can think of.

I'm another who's had the 53.25MB failure issue, and it's 99.9% certain to be a router issue. If you're in the UK then the chances are you're with BT for your broadband. As mentioned above, there is a known issue with the 2Wire BT Business Hub, see link below, and probably other routers too.
    http://btbroadbandandhowtosurviveit.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/bts-2-wire-woes.html
"If you want Mountain Lion, or any other large download, then you'll need to get another router, or firmware upgrade if available." That however can be a pain, and if BT don't play ball then an expensive one. There is another solution however, and one that means no contact with BT, call centres or your local PC World ...
What I did was put in an old BTHomeHub that I had lying around to get it passed the 53.25MB point, and then paused the download while I reinstalled the 2Wire BT Business Hub. I then resumed the download and the whole 4+GB was on my iMac in a few minutes (well just over the hour). If you don't have a spare router, borrow one, you'll only need it to get the download passed the 53.25MB stage. For completeness, I waited until it was at about 150MB before pausing.
    Hope that helps some.

  • Mountain Lion download not working on my MBA.

    Hi,
I am hoping that someone can help me with this.
I am trying to download onto my MBA - Mountain Lion. I have successfully downloaded onto my iMac. When in the App store - Downloads it says,  "The product distribution file could not be verified. It may be damaged or was not signed."
    Help!

Quit the App Store if it's open.
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar top of your screen click Go > Go to Folder

Move the NetworkInterfaces.plist file from the SystemConfiguration folder to the Trash.
Relaunch the App Store and try downloading Mountain Lion.
If that doesn't help, disable anti virus software and try turning off the Firewall in System Preferences > Security & Privay > Firewall
If nothing above has helped, install the appropriate combo update.
For Lion v10.7 >  OS X Lion Update 10.7.4 (Client Combo)
    For Snow Leopard > 10.6 > Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo
The combo will reintsall the App Store for you which may help. Restart your Mac after the combo is installed. Try downloading Mountain Lion.

  • HT202159 Mountain Lion download problems

I have tired to download Mountain Lion twice.  The first time the download just froze.  The second time, in the App Store 'purchases' secetion, place of the "RESUME" tab, it says "An error has occurred".  I have the option to BUY the app again, but am afraid of getting charged again.  What can I do?

    It is a BIG problem....
I am trying to download it, but is becoming a undesireble thing.
Once, it gets an error, or it says that the file is corrupted, or it says that and I have to log in and it starts all over again from the begging.
    What a huge BUG.
Apple should try to correct this

  • Mountain Lion Download - Not completed

I am currently running 10.7.5 on my macbook air. I recently downloaded the new version of Mountain Lion and even though it says I have the updates and the app store says I have already purchesed it - my system still shows as running 10.7.5.
When I check for new software I am advised that I have the latest version.
Where is my Mountain Lion? Why hasn't it installed as its supposed too.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks in advance
    DC

Try putting, "Install OS X Mountain Lion," into Spotlight.

  • After Mountain Lion download, FaceTime is not working anymore. Any ideas?

After Mountain Lion download, FaceTime is not working anymore. Any ideas?

I have reinstalled mountain Lion again . This time, Facetime works when somebody calls me, and I can do calls from my Mac again. But the problem was still that I was not able to call my iPad, what I was able to do with Lion (I had one Apple-ID and two call adresses). The solution was this time to generate a second Apple-ID from the Facetime in my Mac (this doesn't affect your main Apple-ID, it's only used for Facetime). Now, it works!  ;-)
