What year, screen size, CPU speed and amount of RAM installed in your iMac?
If your iMac is not a mid-2007 iMac model or newer, you can't install OS X 10,8 Mountain Lion.
Tthe highest OS X version that can be installed is OS X 10.7 Lion.
You need to call Apple at 1-800-MYAPPLE ask for retail software sales and tell them you want to install OS X 10,7 Lion onto your iMac. They will give you a special download code to access the OS X 10.7 Lion download from the Mac App Store.
    Good Luck!

Perhaps try the "Error -50," "-5000," "8003," "8008," or "-42023" section in the Specific Conditions and Alert Messages: (Mac OS X / Windows) section of the following document:

I have the same issue, to temporarily fix it go to Settings > General > Restart.  When it restarts the movie should play.  You have to do this for each movie for the most part.

  • "The product distribution file could not be verified. It may be damaged or was not signed." error while downloading OS X Mountain Lion

I paid for the Mountain Lion, was downloading perfect. When almost 1 gb of downloading was left then this error occured "The product distribution file could not be verified. It may be damaged or was not signed." and stopped downloading and now every time i try to download it this error occurs
What should i do now, i paid for it and couldn't even download it now.

You'll need to re-try the download.
If you have a flaky network connection, or if you're behind a proxy server, there can be issues.
The App Store knows you paid so you won't have a problem trying to re-download, but you will have to re-download.

  • HT202159 Am downloading OS X Mountain Lion and gets message download error message after just 5.5KB download

You're certrain your Mac qualifies for Mountain Lion?  >  Apple - Upgrade your Mac to OS X Mountain Lion.
Make sure there's enough available space on the install disk to install Mountain Lion (4.35GB file).
Click the Apple menu icon top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac > More Info then click Storage from the menu.
Make sure there's never less than 15% available spacce.

  • I can't download previously purchased Mountain Lion in the App Store.

So after having some hard drive problems, I reinstalled 10.6 from the disk that came with my MBP, and I'm trying to upgrade again to my previously purchased copy of Mountain Lion (I'm realizing now that I probably went about this the wrong way...).
Anyway, I can't seem to be able to download Mountain Lion. It shows up in Purchases, and when I click Download, the button greys out for a second while the spinny thing spins, then the Download button goes back to normal and I don't see any indication that anything's downloading.
Here's what it looks like after I press the Download button:
I'd love any advice or feedback!

I had already installed the combo update, but after restarting and checking for updates, a security update became available, and after installing that, everything is working normally. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

  • HT202159 Problems downloading OS X Mountain Lion?

Hi there. Just purchased OS X Mountain Lion today. Tried download app 3 times. Every time when about 96% download was done got error and message "download can't be completed". Had to start fron scratch again. A d because this file is more than 4Gb, it was kind of pain. I don't know what is goin on. My IMac has enough room on hard drive. Memory is 16Gb. No problem at all. Mac Keeper 2012 shows me that all is perfect. What can be a problem?
Would appreciate any advice, because got stock in the middle of process.

Mac Keeper 2012 shows me that all is perfect.
    MacKeeper is the problem.
So called cleaning utilities on a Mac can do more harm than good. Your Mac runs maintenance for you.

Then restart your Mac and try re downloading Lion.
How to re download apps from the Mac App Store:
Open the App Store. From the menu bar click Store > Sign In
Click Purchases from the top of the App Store window.
Select Mountain Lion. Then right or control click where you see Installed  then click Install.
Make sure and use the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.

  • "an error has occured" while downloading OS X Mountain Lion

I have purchased the OS X Mountain Lion and it downloaded about half way on my macbook then stopped. Now when i go into the app store under purchased it says "an error has occured" and there is no option to resume the download, how can i get it to download again?

Try this one. There is some troubleshooting information and a link to contact them.
    App Store Support
This has worked for some people.
    - Sign out of the App Store (in the Store menu)
    - Quit the App Store
    - In Finder - Go>Go to folder...  (or Apple-shift-G)
    - Paste in the following "~/Library/Caches/ "
    - It will take you to a folder.  Delete com.apple.appstore
    - Launch the App Store.  Sign in and then reclick the Mountain Lion buy.  It won't charge you again.

  • Download a purchased mountain lion on windows

    Hy guys,
I need to substitute my hdd on my macbookpro 13" because it's broken ... so I need to reinstall again the OS.
Is there a way to download it on windows to create a copy of it on a dvd or usb ?
I've just purchased a copy of mountain lion.
    Thank
    Best Regards
    Claudio

No there isn't because you need a Mac to be able to sign into the Apple run Mac App Store and you can only do that from a Mac computer running a version of OS X from Snow Leopard 10.6.X (not sure what point release of SL the MAS was added) up to Mt Lion. And you can only create a USB or DVD disc of the Lion or Mt Lion install files on a Mac computer.
So you will need to change the hard drive then reinstall the original version of OS X that came on your Mac when it was new and then go to the Mac App Store and re-download Mt Lion and install it.
Now if you Mac came with Lion Pre-Installed when new you can do that by using the Online Internet Recovery system to reinstall Lion and then go to the MAS and login with the same Apple ID you used to buy Mt Lion and download and ionstall it again. If your Mac came with Snow Leopard then you will need to use the Original System discs that came with the system to reinstall Snow Leopard then update it to 10.6.8 then go to the MAS to download and install Mt Lion.

  • In "purchases" while in my App Store, Mountain Lion says, "an error has occurred" and the green 'download' button is grey and I cannot re-start the download. I was abroad when I purchased this app and during download, my internet connection was lost.

In "purchases" while in my App Store, Mountain Lion says, "an error has occurred" and the green 'download' button is grey and I cannot re-start the download. I was abroad when I purchased this app and during download, my internet connection was lost. At the time, Apple was still offering the e-chat, so I did that and the man was very helpful and it was a quick fix, so my download button turned green again, and I was able to begin the download. BUT during the download, I was kicked offline once again, and I decided to wait until I was back in the USA. I will go in to an Apple store and ask assistance, but if there is something I am missing, I'd like to try that first. Thanks in advance for any advice.

    Welcome to the support forums.
