Needless to say if anyine can shed any light on this little gem it would be most welcome.

It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox.<br />
Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.

Since you are using a 2012 iMac which has no optical drive, your problem is w/an external disc burner?   Is the burner a tray or slot loader?
Type of file you are trying to burn?
    Type of disc?
Make sure the DVD/CDs are not dirty, smudged and/or scratched.
Your drive may need cleaning.  Cleaning kits can be purchased from any store that sells CD/DVDs.

  • TS1436 I keep getting unknown error occured(4450) when trying to burn a CD...running Windows Vista, any help would be appreciated

I keep getting unknown error occured(4450) when trying to burn a CD, running Windows Vista...any help would be apprciated.

I had this issue to when trying to burn discs recently. I went into the CD creation settings in iTunes and I "unchecked" the option to "Include CD Text" and after I did that, the disc I had been trying to burn several times with error, actually burned without fail. Give that a try and see what happens.

  • CD-R won't burn (unknown error occurred 4450)

I have been having trouble burning CD's for some months now. I know it's not my hard drive because that was just replaced for another reason. It starts to burn the first song and then it cancels the burn saying 'The attempt to burn a disc failed. An unknown error occurred (4450). I tried reducing the burn speed to as low as 2X, but it doesn't work. Odd thing is, a CD-RW will work, but that doesn't help me as my car stereo won't play that type of media. Help?!?!?! I'm so frustrated. I don't know why this new itunes gives me so many headaches. I keep ruining CD's. It *****!

I'm getting the same error. I've reduced the burn speed, uninstalled and reinstalled, upgraded to latest version, tried different media but no luck.
Thank you for any help you can provide.

The above you are talking about refers to instructions for Snow Leopard (10.6) and you did post in the Snow Leopard forum area.
Your system profile confirms you are actually using Lion (10.7.1).  Therefore, you should seach for Lion instructions in the Apple's Knowledge Base or post over in the Mac OS X v10.7 Lion forum area.
