HT203167 song missing in itunes LP purchase

I firstly bought bowie new single 'where are we now' then the second one 'Start are out tonight'
then i finally bought the whole new album when it came out but to my great disbelief the two single songs i pirchased before are NOT included
in the general CD list!
so i put the album on...and the songs i bought are not in the consequential order of the album...they are not there at all.
but they are on their own location under david bowie.
I bought the album, which contain ALL THE SONG and i bought the singles too... so in theory, under ever human normal approach,
I should have those two songs twice, capito?
will NEVER buy album or songs in here ever again until you give me david bowi album, the next day, in ITS ENTIRETY,
my money back and apologis for being so stupid.

  • ITunes library mysteriously dissapeared (not the actual files where they are stored) and once I transfered songs back to iTunes, some purchased songs had been corrupted (missing tags

Last week, I purchased around 9-10 songs. The previous day, I had played songs from my iTunes library... everything working normal. The day after purchasing those 9-10 songs... I noticed that my entire songs in my library (and playlist) where gone, essentially being re-set like new. I updated my iTunes version, re-started my PC and still... nothing was showing up except those 9-10 songs. I did the next logical thing which was to check the actual music folder that stores the songs. They where all there. It did not make any sense as I had not done or noticed anything unsual while using iTunes before. Now, I want to mention that I use a DJ software (mixvibe) with the ION Discovery DJ that pulls tracks from iTunes. For the past couple of months they both have worked great. Fast forwarding to my issue, I went ahead and copied all the music back to iTunes. I spent a good hour making sure that everything worked and re-created my playlists. One thing that struck me as odd was that while checking everything... some songs that I had purchased recently and even a couple of months ago that I've used on my mixvibe software... had the track info deleted. The only information was the track name, ex. (01 - Bird One). For some reason, they were dumped into a "Unknown Artists" file. There was a good 20-25 songs that had this issue. The one thing that I noticed was that when I would highlight the song within the Uknown Artist folder... All of the information including cover art was showing up at the bottom of the folder (if you are familiar with Windows 7 you know what I'm talking about). How can it be that all of the actual information was still there yet not showing up in iTunes? I had to manually go one by one of those 20-25 songs and add all of the track info (as much as I could). I was also able to recover some of the cover art but not all. It seems like the files got corrupted. Can I re-download these tracks again or how can I get them to how they were originally? HELP!

I find the best way to do this is to right click on the song in iTunes and convert then select convert ID3 tags to V1.1 this usually completes the tag and adds all the missing info, provided it is in iTunes corectly.
Were these songs you Dled or ripped form a cd directly?

  • I have songs missing on iTunes but they are on my iPhone. How can I copy from the iPhone into iTunes on my mac air

I have songs missing from my iTunes on the computer but they are on my iPhone 3s and my iPad mini. How can I get them into iTunes so they are in my library.?I have the latest iTunes on my commuter. Thanks for any suggestions.

If they were purchased from iTunes then connect the phone to your Mac's iTunes and the File > Devices > Transfer Purchases should copy them over. If they came from other sources (e.g. copied from CDs) then you will need a third-party program on your Mac to copy them back - there are some listed half-way down this page : Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device.
If by 'missing' you mean that you have them listed in the Music part of your iTunes library but get the 'would you like to locate' message when trying to play them then you will need to delete them from there for the Transfer Purchases to work - otherwise that will see those entries in your library and assume that you still have them somewhere and not copy them back.

  • Ipod song missing on itunes

I want to sync my ipod touch with a different itunes library. I plugged my ipod in the computer and my itunes started transferring my purchased items off of my ipod. I looked at my music and one song that I recently bought and downloaded on my ipod touch was missing. I tried syncing it again and nothing. I have tried to restart my computer and my ipod and nothing. I can't seem to get it to work. Any help?

iTunes will only let you copy your iTunes Store purchases directly from an iPod to the computer. For everything else (music from CDs, other downloads) there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod. I use Senuti but have a look at the web pages and documentation for the others too. You can read reviews and comparisons of some of them here (you'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos and games as well):

  • Why in the H*** do Songs 'Disappear in ITUNES Playlists/purchased?

I''m so ****** this is happening; I want to know why Song//purchased from ITUNES STORE Disappear after awhile from my playlists!! I purchased them...then I'm able to play for like 2 months; THEN THEY DISAPPEAR!! what the **** is the matter with them? I'm not going to purchase a song TWICE!!! What- the....??

Seems I'm having a similar problem where songs on my purchased playlist for the same artist and different albums disappeared (exclamation point on song names and message saying they can't be located). I went back to my iTunes account to redownload them and don't have access to the download button for those songs. They're grayed out and read "downloaded".
I back up but haven't lately thinking I was safe. I once contacted Apple about another purchased song that all of a sudden had a glitch in it. I went back to redownload it and had the grayed out button. Apple reactivated it, no reason given as to why it was deactivated BUT I discovered the song downloaded from my "cloud" purchased playlist had the same glitch in it where it didn't before. So, I'm guessing that the songs on the cloud are syncing to our playlists on our computers. Which is disconcerting. I know Idid not accidently throw out the songs for the same artist and different albums. So, something sinister's up. I'm contacting Apple with this concern and will post the results.

  • Odd... songs missing from iTunes, but still on my iPod

I came across an odd situation, where certain songs (burned and purchased) are listed in the iTunes library, but do not connect to a file on my PowerBook. I don't recall any situation where I would have accidentaly removed the files. For example, I might have songs from seven albums for an artist listed in the library, but only two of the album folders still exist in the iTunes Music Folder.
Although missing from the PowerBook, the song files are on my iPod. I feared that on the next sync, those files would be removed, as the PowerBook autosyncs and supposedly conforms the iPod to the iTunes library. But... no, the files have remained on the iPod through several syncs.
I can find a way to restore the purchased music (although the new purchased music sync on iTunes 7 didn't do it). I can't use my automated backups, because this situation seems to have been around for some weeks, without my awareness.
The problem started on iTunes 6, so it's not a quirk of iTunes 7 (which works fine for me so far).

I seem yo have a similar problem, this is where I have purchased the songs via iTunes, and they are on my iPod but do not appear in my iTunes library, nor are they in the artists folders.
I have recently upgraded to the latest version of iTunes v7.0.1, and I have only experienced this problem since I upgraded.

  • Songs missing on itunes reinstall-ipod importing?

Apple support made me reinstall to try to fix a problem. Unfortunately, I probably did something wrong and only about 1/2 of my songs are still on my hardrive and back in itunse. (I fear I may have deleted some when completing erasing iTunes). However, the good news is that all of the songs are in my iPod. I just can't figure out how to transfer from iPod to iTunes. Any help would be greatly greatly appreciated.

I have a new 30GB ipod & I am encountering a similar problem – my ipod refuses to play
half of the CD album titles that are on it even though they play perfectly ok in itunes [exactly as Lyn describes].
I have 19GB of MP3s on my computer [which were all created in the same way with the same non-apple software etc] which I put into the itunes library. For some reason beyond my comprehension only half of these arrived with all their details while the rest were missing the CD title, artist & Genre information & it is these songs which don’t play. I updated all of the missing info using the itunes “get info”[a very very long process] & they work/ play perfectly - except on my ipod! So I went through the 5 R’s download the latest updates & restored my ipod etc but nothing’s worked. Still the same songs/CD’s won’t play on my ipod. Help!
Actually I’m beginning to wonder if I might have a sick little ipod because it also manages to freeze about 3 to 4 times per day [I use it with speakers for background music at work so it’s on none stop for about 8 to 10 hours or more per day]!?

  • My Mdaughter got a ndew ipod and is missing some itunes she purchased.

My daughter got a new ipod and can't find some of her recent purchases.  How can I find out what she has purchased and get them back?

    Hello, Annette.
This forum is for questions about iTunes U, Apple's service for colleges and universities to post educational material in the iTunes Store. You'll be most likely to get help with this issue if you ask in the general iTunes forums.
    Regards.

  • HT203167 Songs loaded to iTunes with my CDs no longer available....why?

I have added music via CD to my iTunes library and now they are no longer available.  when i try to play the songs, i get an error "the song could not be used because the original file could not be found.  Would you like to locate it?"  I choose "locate" on the error but it takes me to the browser to find the song and it's not there.  When upgrading to new versions of iTunes, do these songs get lost/dropped??

Upgrading iTunes does not cause media to disappear from the computer.
The message is telling you that the media is not where iTunes expects it to be.  Either the user or some software on the computer moved (or deleted) the media.  No one here can tell you where that media is.  Find it on your computer or rip the CDs again.

  • Songs that I have purchased are missing in iTunes (file not found/exclmation point), and do not show up in the iTunes Store for download.

I have a laptop that has (or had) pretty much all of my music, both burned from CDs and downloaded from iTunes. My 17 year old son on occasion syncs his iPhone and iPad with this laptop. As of the last sync (as best I can determine), many songs that I purchased in the past few years are now missing, in that they have an exclamation point to the left of the song title, and when I try to play the song, I get an error message that says "The song could not be used because the original file could not be found" or something to that effect. As it turns out, the file seems to be erased. This has happened multiple times, and I could be wrong, but I believe that there are some songs that had the exclmation point last time he synced that now don't, and vice-versa. There is not an obvious correlation or grouping as to why these songs are missing (e.g,. they were not all purchased on the same date, not all songs from one artist are missing, etc.).
Since most of these songs have been purchased through iTunes through my account, my reaction was to go to the iTunes store, log in with my account, and re-download them. Problem is, all of these songs instead ask me to purchase the song, instead of displaying a "cloud" logo. Therefore, it appears that I have to re-purchase these songs, which does not sound correct.
Questions: Does anyone know, most importantly (to get an immediate fix):
    1. How can I re-download these songs and why doesn't iTunes Store recognize that I have already purchased them?
and perhaps as important (more of a long-term question):
    2. Why does this happen and how can I prevent this from happening again (since it has happened multiple times)?
    Thanks.

    1. iTunes won't offer cloud downloads for songs that it "thinks" are in your library, even if it "knows" the files are missing. If you've exhaustively searched for the missing files and there is no prospect of repair by restoring to them to their original locations, or connecting to new ones, then delete that tracks that display both the missing exclamation mark and are of media kind Purchased/Protected AAC audio file. Don't hide from iTunes in the cloud when asked, close iTunes, then reopen. You can download from the cloud links or iTunes Store > Quicklinks > Purchased > Music > Not on this computer > All songs > Download all.
    2. Why? Not sure, perhaps 3rd party tools or accidental key presses combined with previously hidden warning messages when trying to organize the library. There is a hint that using the feature to downsample media as it is synced to a device may also be involved, though I've not replicated it. Whatever the reason a backup would protect your media.

  • I have missing songs that i purchased on my old iphone. they are not in my purchased folder. but in itunes store when i look the song up, it has the purchased logo next to it.... but no way to download it

i have missing songs that i purchased on my old iphone. they are not in my purchased folder. but in itunes store when i look the song up, it has the purchased logo next to it.... but no way to download it

If the songs are still on your ipod, make sure autosync is disabled in iTunes on your computer, connect and right click on it in the device list, then choose "transfer purchases" to copy all bought media and apps from your ipod to your computer.
If the songs are not on your computer and got deleted from your ipod as well, you can't get them back, unless you have a backup of your iTunes library as part of your computer backup.

  • HT203167 I synced my ipod touch and for whatever reason I have now opened an itunes library with some songs missing. Theses songs still remain on my touch but the ipos will not sync them back on to my library!Any ideas?

I synced my ipod touch  and the library opened up with some songs missing. These songs remain on my ipod, I thought that by syncing they would return to my itunes library. But they won't. Has anyone seen this before?

You should be able to copy iTunes purchases back to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases. For music purchased from other sites or copied from your own CDs then are they not already on your computer and/or on a backup ? If not then you will need to find a third-party program that can copy them off the iPod.

  • TS1424 Bought and Album and one song is missing after itunes froze  cant see how to dowload the missing song as it says Purchased

Bought and Album and one song is missing after itunes froze  cant see how to dowload the missing song as it says Purchased
Pls Help  Best and Kind Regards

Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then see if it shows under the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunee. If it shows there but doesn't have the clpud symbol against it for redownloading then is that track listed in the Music part of your library i.e. where you would click on it to play it ? If it is then delete it from there and it should then get the cloud symbol against it in Purchased.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if it re-downloads in the same state then try the 'report a problem' page to contact iTunes Support : http://reportaproblem.apple.com . iTunes Support should reply within, I think, about 24 hours.
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work then you can try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • Why are only 2 songs missing from my Purchased playlist?

here's another weird missing purchased song issue: in itunes on left side under store, there is the pre-set purchased playlist with the right click menu with the entry to check for available downloads - it is showing 90 songs. Same as on my iPhone's purchased playlist. Here is the problem - I created a new smart playlist per the previous discussions here and it is showing 92 songs - I went onto my account to check the itunes store and the 92 songs are there and the 92 songs are also downloaded to my itunes library on my PC. Not one of them is hidden - I have others hidden but not these 2. they are not in the cloud, they have been downloaded to both PC and phone and they will appear in other playlists and play fine. For some reason, the pre-set Purchased playlist under the store menu is not picking up that these 2 songs were purchased but my smart playlist is! Both are on the same account ID, one from 2013 and one from just last month!  This is clearly an issue with certain flag not being set in a database somewhere, but why just these two?  It is not affecting my ability to sync or play these songs since I have them in my new smart playlist - just an odd thing that makes me wonder why and if it can be corrected. ooops - this is PC iTunes not Mac - can't change it - sorry!

    Hi Pugs lover,
If you are missing songs from an album but the iTunes Store is showing those tracks as Purchased, you may want to see if it will allow you to redownload them. You may find the following article helpful:
