I cannot sync HD films purchased on iTunes (on my PC) to my iPad even though it is a shared account. No problem syncing to iPod Classic from PC.
Also there is no 'Film/Video' tag on the drop down menu on the iPad only Music and TV Programs.
Also can't view 'purchased films' on iTunes via iPad.
All Phtos,Music and Video etc is 'Manualy Sync' selected.
Is this all related, please help?
Most of my library consists of h.264 videos wrapped in the m4v format, which my converters (Handbrake & mkvtools) says is the Apple TV format. Today I tried coverting a few to mp4 (for iPad) instead, so that I can watch them on multiple devices, but I'm running into the same problem with those that you are.
I tried resetting my ATV as the other responder suggested, but that hasn't helped. I'm still unable to watch h.264 mp4 files, while h.264 m4v's are fine.

After several frustrating attempts to connect the IBook G3 10.4.11 OS (I have no idea if that is a Lion or a Seahorse or whatever) to my wi-fi network I realized that the problem is the security setting. The only security option is WEP but my router is WPA2. Is there a work around or would it be necessary to purchase a new(er) Airplay card (which I'm not willing to do)? I also have no inclination to alter the security settings on my router as I have several other devices already connected. It's either alter the software settings on the IBook G3 or forget it. I'm also assuming that I would be unsuccessful at connecting the G3 even if I used an ethernet cable. Please verify.
I don't mind if this question is hijacked to explain the options I've already ruled out, for those who may be willing to do so.
ThanksThe iBook's 802.11b - only AirPort card can use WPA but not WPA2. The card cannot be upgraded. USB wireless adapters may be an option worth considering though I have none to recommend.

That's not correct. All iBooks have Ethernet ports. Using it would obviate its need for wireless security. Other than the need for a cable, Ethernet beats wireless in all respects. -

You did not say if you installed a carrier update. Are you using an unlocked phone? Does your carrier require you to manually set your APN settings? If you do not know what it is then you don't. Have you checked with your carrier? An MMS with iMessage is handled differently than an MMS with the carrier. Since your iMessage is working, contact your carrier and have them check the provisioning on your account. They may need to do a reset on their end, since SMS/MMS is a carrier function.

I have worked with iMoive a ton and have never had an issue. I consider myself pretty computer savvy. This new iMovie is not my friend. It will not let me share my new video. I click on the project and click "share" like it says but I don't receive any further prompt. It literally does nothing. I tried the drop down menu and I see the "share" with an arrow indicating there are options but no drop down menu appears. I need this video by tonight to submit for work. HELP!
I got it to share! No reloading iMovie!
I do not have Mackeeper on my laptop
I have the movie files on an external hard drive
1. Close out iMovie
2. Eject the external hard drive
3. Start up iMovie
4. Plug in the external hard drive
5. Go into finder and double click on the folder containing the movie
6. Select the movie as if to edit
7. Share it!

I have lost all of my bookmarks from the drop-down menu. It says it is empty, but never have I deleted them. And when I bookmark a page it does not save it. Please helpOk this is bizzare!
Thank you for your response, I went throught each and every step without any luck, even got the recovery programme, and painstakingly tried to sift through all that mumbojumbo to find what i needed. finally found the bookmark bit, but it had been fully overwritten :(, so on reading about previous ff versions, found the sqlite thingys, and they were relatively unscathed(partly written over, but saveable apparently TG), saved them to adiff drive, amongst other possibly good folders. Then looked up how to install them, and it said to close FF, and install to profile folder.
So i tried to close FF, and the original problem from a few days ago, where it asked me if 'i was sure i wanted to close this window as it has X tabs open', popped up again. This is where 'open blank page' selection was set, over 'open previous tabs'. Wanting to save that info on how to sort out these friggin files, I reset the Option to 'open previous tabs', and closed FF. After unsucessfully searching for the profile folder on my laptop, i opened FF intending to search online for where i could find said folder.
AND BANG, surprise surprise, the FF I had just closed with only tabs open about finding out what the heck to do, had disappeared, and instead my original saved tabs were up, and my bookmarks are there..... I am gobsmacked! what the heck just happened there???
I have made 3 back up in different folders now, of those friggin bookmarks. I am weary now tho of shutting it all down.... what if its back to the other pages I had with no bookmarks, tomorrow :( -
I have two faults! 1, an error comes up in Ps CC 2014 "could not apply the saved panel configuration, restring to default and my tools have disappeared completely and anything ive tried I cannot get them back not even the drop down menu in 'window' helps at all. And 2, Lr everytime I load it up it gives me the option to retry or switch to and it takes a while for me to even get anywhere with it I think it has something to do with the catalogs? I can give a few suggestions on Photoshop CC 2014, but Lightroom is a separate forum and you should ask Lr questions there.
First close Photoshop.
Then start Photoshop by double-clicking on it's icon and very quickly after that, hold down the ctrl-alt-shift keys until you see the reset dialog. answer "Yes" to delete settings, and let Photoshop continue to load.
It's tricky to do and may take a few tries, but at least it should reset Photoshop CC 2014 to defaults.

Look, I understand I still need a card attached to the account. The problem is, it won't accept my card because I only have 87 cents in my bank account right now.
If I had known there would be so much trouble with the iTunes card, I would have just put the cash in my bank account in the morning instead of buying an iTunes card (I didn't expect the banks to be open on Thanksgiving of course).
Apple will only accept cards that have a balance. The balance is so small in my account that it won't accept it as a valid card.
I'm going to have to contact Apple anyway to reset the security questions. That's obvious. Your answers were not exactly helpful. You didn't tell me anything I don't already know, but thanks for trying to be helpful. -
in the new Pages 5.0, what is the page break shortcut key (it used to be the Fn + enter). I cannot find the (new) key as indicated on the drop down menu. Please help.

ok, I found the keyboard viewer, it only shows the traditional symbol 'return'. something like a sideway u-turn continued with the arrow under. This is the Canadian or US keyboard.

I have turned two computers on to home sharing. I am now on this computer wanting to put my music on to this itunes and i know i need to find the other computer in the drop down menu from " Home Sharing " but that menu isnt there on the left?
If you have the horizontal menu bar showing (File, Edit, View,...), select View, then select Show Sidebar.
If the menu bar is not showing, dorp down the menu in the very upper left corner and select show menu bar, then follow steps above.

I just created a bunch of folders to organize my bookmarks. When I try to bookmark a page and put it in the appropriate folder, none of my folders appear in the drop-down menu. Thanks for any advice you can provide. ~cayugakate
Turns out they were showing up, just all the way at the bottom of my list of bookmarks. I just couldn't see them. If you go to "Bookmarks"->"Organize Bookmarks" and then play around in there with highlighting on "Bookmarks Menu" you should be able to figure it out. Otherwise you just have to move them up to the top individually. Hope that helps! ~Kate

I am having problems removing an autocomplete entry from my address bar; I have tried clearing my history, so it's no longer in that, and I do not have it bookmarked either, so it's not getting the URL from that location either. The autocomplete entry isn't even showing up in the drop down menu, so I can't even scroll through that to delete it.
Basically, I want to be able to type "st" and go to "store.steampowered.com"; however, despite numerous times of typing in "st" and then going down into the drop-down menu to choose "store.steampowered.com", the bar continues to autocomplete "steamtrades.com", which is exceptionally annoying because I do not have that website bookmarked, or in my history, yet it continues to autocomplete to that address, which I do not want it to autocomplete to, and cannot figure out how to remove because I've already cleared my history multiple times, do not have it bookmarked, and it is not showing up in the drop down of the address bar for me to go down and force delete it.Did you try to remove some letters from steamtrades.com to see if that bring this entry up in the drop-down list?
If it is not in the history then it might be present with a typed=1 flag indicating that you have typed or pasted it in the location bar.
You can use the SQLite Manager extension in Firefox to inspect the places.sqlite file to see if this entry comes up in the moz_places table.

What is "Adobe XI" - Reader, or Acrobat?
But either way, 'Save as Adobe PDF' is a Word function, independent of what Adobe software you have installed. -
How do I double space a document in Pages. The instruction say to use the Line Spacing control in the format bar, but there is NO Line Spacing control in the drop down menu under Format. I'm writing a novel and I am having to manually double space after every line. It is **** when I am trying to edit my work.
The computer is not too old (and neither are you ). It may be better if you could upgrade it from 10.5.8 to 10.6 ... but that would not solve this problem.
As both Paul and I have advised ... get yourself on Pages > go to the View menu and halfway down is the option 'Show Inspector'. You'll end up with a panel like Paul showed you in his post of 08:42. Let's see what you can do from there. -

You need to Force Quit it.
Select Force Quit..., then Safari from the Apple menu.
Or...
Right-click on the Safari icon in the Dock, then select Force Quit.
