Do not worry about it.
Time Machine needs that your external drive is formatted in HFS+, or better known as "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)". This filesystem is used by Apple on Macs and Windows cannot read or write drives formatted with this filesystem, being this the reason why all your devices do not read the external drive except your Mac.
You can only use your external drive to make Time Machine drives. If you store anything different, you may damage the Time Machine structure, so it is better not to use it as a drive to store other data. Instead, get another external drive to do it or create a second partition on the external drive formatted in FAT32 by using Disk Utility > http://pondini.org/OSX/DU3.html FAT32 can be read by Windows PCs

And...Yes, i did : i inserted the install disc and started up holding the C key. Many time. But each time, the logo of install disc appeared during ten minutes and then, during the installation, he disappeared suddenly with no reason. And in the same time the computer turn off.
The beginning of the storry : my son made long time ago (a year) the partition between Mac and Windows. Everything was fine.
Recently, He decided to give more memory space to windows.
He could do that directly (perhaps, was there a way but he did'nt know it)
For this reason, he decided to desinstall Windows in a first step before reinstalling it.
But before doing this, he decided to re install all the system, like for cleaning his computer...and then, since, it's a big mess.
You know everythin now.

My iMac keeps restarting forever when I try to reboot it with the install DVD.

Whenever I insert the install disc and restart the computer, it just keeps on restarting forever. Nothing seems to work, be it pressing on the "C" key as it starts up, or the option key (this would actually make the hard drive and install DVD icons appear, but whenever I select the DVD icon, the computer would still just restart..).
There seems to be no problem with the DVD when I insert it in the running computer. The finder window would appear, telling me to restart the computer to start the installation, but then the problem would persist as I start it up.
Should I just order a copy of Snow Leopard or is the problem coming from the computer?

First you need to research all the problems people are having with the higher OSX versions, & make sure you have a bootable clone of what you have just in case.
then you must get 10.6 if they still have it, install it & update to 10.6.8 so you have the App Store to buy & download the huge 10.8 Installer.

When I try to install Firefox with the 6.0 setup, it says it's not a valid win32 application, this is on windows xp any way to fix?

It is an oldish computer running windows XP, moving to firefox since I used it on my laptop and wanted to put it on this computer. I ran the setup and it says it is not a valid win32 application and closes, well i say close, it barey opens. i also tried saving the setup and runnig it that way but that failed as well. I might just download an older version of firefox, but I'd love to use the latest one.

It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox.
Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.

First check your Internet connection.
Turn off Show Subject in Settings>>Message
Reset the Network Setting, which makes your phone to forget every networks and passwords that you connected your phone to.
to reset the Network Settings just go to Settings - General - Reset (at the bottom) - Reset Network Settings.
I remember when I reset the Network Settings, i turned off iMessages. I connected to my home Wi-Fi and surfed the web for a little while. Sent some regular SMS messages, and about 10min later, I turned on iMessages again and sent a text to a friend with an iPhone and it started working as iMessage! Baloons finally became blue.

Thanks so much but none of that helped. It was driving me crazy because it would back up another external drive. I just changed the name of the drive from iPhoto/iTunes Library to Media Libraries and IT WORKED!! I guess for some reason it didn't like the drive being called iPhoto or iTunes ???? I don't understand but I have tried so many solutions and exchanging things out but the name change did it????!!!
