I did try to do that, but it needs wifi connection to download the software i dont have wifi connection and one more thing, I dont have in front of me right now my personal computer im using another persons computer what should i do just to download the software update now and then when i got home i can download or transfer it on my personal computer when i get back.

Can't download software updates in iTunes - error message "network connection timed out"

I'm unable to download software updates for my iTouch 4.1 in iTunes. I have iTunes version 10.5, Windows 7. i've tried numerous times in the past and always get the same error message. I'm now experiencing problems with some of my apps. and I've attempted 4 times in the past 2 days to upload version 5.0. It goes thru the whole download (761.61 MB), says "processing file", then closes out and I get the following message:
"There was a problem downloading the software for the iPod "xxxxx's iPod". The network connection timed out. Make sure your network settings are current and your network connection is active or try again later. Err = .3529."
I ran diagnostics and it said everything was fine.
Also not all the apps. on my iTouch are in my iTunes library even though I've synced my iTouch numerous times since I've purchased the apps. with my iTouch. All the apps on my 2nd screen are on iTunes, but none of the apps. on my 3rd screen of my iTouch are in iTunes.

Did you check your security software settings? Troubleshooting security software issues
iTunes has to be able to contact Apple during the download of the software and the update process.

Been trying to download update for iPhoto and stops downloading after about 5 minutes saying I am not connected to internet. Using Snow Leopard and other downloads have gone just fine. Have tried this one over and over to no avail. Please help! Thanks!

I recently recieved an update for iphoto and I cannot download the update from the app store. I am getting the following error:
Failed to verify the Apple preflight file. It is not signed by Apple.
Has anyone else recieved this error ? If so, is there a fix for it?

I need to update BIOS---it is HP F,47 date of 12/17/11 Everytime I start my computer I get a blue screen with message that it needs BIOS updates----I am using laptop now in safe mode. Please tell me where to download these updates!

I download a suggested "update" from the App Store for my iPhoto yesterday. Now when I try and open my iPhoto, I get a grey screen with the rotating circle icon in the middle......that just keeps rotating. Ergo, it won't open!!! Before the "download" all was fine in Heaven & Earth....now, I'm a little peeved.
Anyone have a suggestion?

No need to be wary of iPhoto updates however it is a good idea to follow the instructions when updating. I haven't updated iPhoto from the App Store before however it should not be much different than doing a DVD update. Here are instructions on updating the library:

I just had Apple migrate from my old computer to a new MacBook Pro. I can't view my iPhoto pix because it says I need to format them to be compatible with the new machine. It told me what to download and install. I have downloaded successfully but now cannot find how/where to do the install.

I think you should have a .dmg file where-ever you have chosen to have downloads go. Double click on that, it should open,install and update. If you press Cloverleaf+ F, you ought to be able to find it, in the box that comes up, type in iPhoto and the update should be there.

First, if you've moved the iPhoto library to an external drive, make sure that drive is mounted by opening it in the Finder.
The issue can be caused by sharing the photo library on a network (against Apple's advice) or by opening it in more than one local user account at the same time. You may be able to clear the error by logging out or restarting the computer. If not, do as follows.
Quit iPhoto if it's running, locally or on any file-sharing client. Select the iPhoto Library in the Finder. Usually it's in the Pictures folder, but you may have moved it somewhere else. Right-click or control-click the library icon and select
Show Package Contents
from the popup menu. In the folder that opens, navigate to
Database/apdb/lockfile.pid
and move that file, if it exists, to the Trash. Close the Finder window.

I have just purchased a new IMac and have Lion OS X 10.7.2 on it but I still get this message when I try to download the update for IPhoto.
iPhoto can’t be installed on “Macintosh HD” because Mac OS X version 10.7.2 or later is required. You can update Mac OS X using Software Update
Any ideas?

Check again in  > About this mac for the version number. Most new Macs don't have 10.7.2 on them, they need to be updated to that level using  > Software update..

Using standard action handler it is not possible but one other option is to take a copy of RSMW0_CONFIG_ERRORHANDLER and enhance it to send actions based on organisational units.

Disable anti virus software.
Turn off the Firewall in System Preferences > Security (or Security & Privacy) > Firewall
If that doesn't help, open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type this exactly as you see it here:
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore/Cache.db
Click Go
Move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Now here:
~/Library/Preferences
Click Go
Move these files from the Preferences folder to the Trash.
com.apple.appstore.plist
com.apple.storeagent.pllist
Now here:
~/Library/Cookies
Click Go
Move the com.apple.appstore.plist file from the Cookies folder to the Trash.
Empty the Trash, try the App Store.
