HT203482 OS X could not be installed - instructions not working
When I click on 'partition', I cannot resize the blue portion because no blue portion appears and instead the message 'this partition can't be modified' appears. What should I do?
I was trying to follow the instructions from here: Installer reports "OS X could not be installed on your computer" or "This disk cannot be used to start up your computer"…

Hp pavilion a1250n says multimedia audio controller not installed, sound not working (windows7)
No sound plays with my logitech ls11 speakers. my computer is a hp pavilion a1250n, running windows 7, 32 bit operating system, and a AMD ahtlon(tm)64 x2 dual core processor 3800+ 2.00 GHz
When i click the speaker icon in the lower right corner, and open the playback devices, it says:
Speaker: anvsoft virtual sound device, default device.
When i ran a troubleshooter, to see if there were any files I should install, i got an error message:
multimedia audio controller couldnt not be installed, driver not found.
In device manager, below the sound video and game controlers tab, it says Anvsoft virtual sound device.
Bellow the other devices tab, it says multimedia audio controler, but there is a yellow triangle exclamation makr over it.
How can I get sound on my computer? Are there any free programs that are compatible that will allow me to have sound?

I have a 2009 MAC PRO 10.6.8. Had never had any problems. Tried installing Mountain Lion today. Was told, " Mountain Lion could not be installed because Hard Disk is broken"!
Is it because HD is broken or perhaps incompatible? Has any one else had this problem? I had no symptoms suggestive of a broken HD. Will I get reimbursed if ML could not be installed? If so what do I have to do?

The solution to your problem is rather simple
1: Get a external hard drive and use Disk Utility to format it with a GUID partition map and OS X extended Journaled.
2: Export your browser bookmarks and any other needed data to a file,. Copy your User data folders of Music, Pictures etc over to the external drive via drag and drop copy methods, disconnect the drive.
I don't advise using TimeMachine at this point since your boot drive is messed up, thus so will be your TM drive, just transfering the problem later on back to the new install. We are proceeding with a "Fresh install" method to eliminate as many issues as possible which a TM restore can return to a new OS X install.
3: Next you will need to follow these instructions to zero erase (important) and install 10.6 fresh, use the same named account (different password ok)
How to erase and install Snow Leopard 10.6
4: Before you return files or install programs, Software Update fully and use the AppStore to install 10.8, this way it will be on a fresh 10.6 install, free of issues.
5: Install any and all 10.8 compatible programs as much as possible before returning your User files, this is a performance measure.
If you need too, use this site to find one's that are 10.8 compatible.

6: Last install your user files from the external drive backup into their respective Music, Pictures, Movies etc., folders, into the same named accounts so you preserve your iTunes playlists. When you open those programs, they will update their respective support files automatically. -

"Adobe AIR could not be installed because another application is already being installed. Complete the first installation before proceeding with this one."
This is the messagge when I try to remove Adobe Air 1.0 from Control panel:

I'm sorry you're having problems installing/uninstalling air. Have you tried rebooting to see if that resolves the issue?
If it still fails, can you enable MSI logging using the instructions found on the following page and then post the msi log contents for review?

Os x could not be installed on your computer undefined error
After carefully following instructions to create a bootable USB drive with Yosemite and running disc utilities to erase the drive, I received the message "os x could not be installed on your computer undefined error 0." I see thousands of people have run into the same problem and jt appears Apple left out key details about what needed to be left on the root of the USB. This is unacceptable and, in fact, is fraud and misrepresentation under consumer protection laws.
I've been using Macs since they were first introduced, but Apple has strayed so far from its roots, it's now a corporate rogue. Apple is going to envy Radio Shack's stock price when I get through with them. Executives and board members will now find their properties attached and face criminal--not just civil--penalties. Its jail time now for the criminals at Apple.Thank you for reading my comment. I ran disk utilities off the USB and erased the hard drive, aiming for a completely clean install. It appears the installer made per Apple's instructions omitted key install files.

The above you are talking about refers to instructions for Snow Leopard (10.6) and you did post in the Snow Leopard forum area.
Your system profile confirms you are actually using Lion (10.7.1). Therefore, you should seach for Lion instructions in the Apple's Knowledge Base or post over in the Mac OS X v10.7 Lion forum area. -
When starting FF 3.68 using quick launch icon, I get this popup before the window loads. I have tried to follow the instructions in this page:

Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
You can skip the step to create a new profile, that is not necessary for this issue.

Without proper system information and other details like what files you work with nobody can tell you much. From corrupted prefs to issues with your PS swap file to actual problems with the fiel storage this could be anything.

Every time Firefox openedIf you can't install on top of the current installation then you need to delete or rename the current Firefox program folder to do a clean install.
It is possible that your security software is using or locking files, so you can try to temporarily disable that software during the installation. -

According to your description, could you please post the summary and detail logs for further analysis? By default, the logs can be found in: C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Setup Bootstrap\Log.
Usually, the error occurs when the Windows Installer Service is not running or the Windows Installer registry settings are corrupted. I recommend you reset the Windows Installer Service settings in the registry and restart the Windows Installer Service,
then reinstall SQL Server 2008 R2. For more details, please review this similar

The only reason why Acrobat installation fails and throw this error message is when there are some services running in the background causing the installer not to complete the installation. My take is try the following steps and suggest if you were able to install the products or not :
1) Navigate to control panel and confirm that there is no line Item that talks about Acrobat. If you see Acrobat XI listed there, please remove them.
2) Perform a selective Start up using the steps mentioned in this link.
Please suggest if the above mentioned steps were able to resolve the query for you or not.

SCCM 2012 - sms_notificaiton_server install fails, bgbisapi.msi could not be installed

installed a SCCM 2012 R2 Primary site on a 2012 R2 server on the D: drive. Everything seemed to go well, however i am am now encountering issues with the SMS_NOTIFICATION_SERVER in that the site component manager is unable to install it. The status message
viewer informs me that, "Site Component Manager failed to install this component, because the Microsoft Installer File for this component (bgbisapi.msi) could not install."
When i check the Bgbsetup.log, i see the following lines:

The solution for these folks seems to be to edit 2 files in the .Net folder,InstallUtil.exe.config and Regsvc.exe.config,
and insert the following code:

Had a go at removing the MP, disabled the UAC and reinstalling the MP. Same result unfortunately...The server is temporarily housed in a block GPO OU so group policy shouldn't be an issue. Thanks for all the help so far! -
Trying to install iTunes on my Laptop, running windows 7 (64-bit), but whenever I reach the end of the install, it pops up with an error telling me:
