HT203646 Blue tooth will not connect to macbook pro

Since mavericks my iPhone 5 bluetooth connects for a second then disconnects for good. I have tried several recommendations including taking the apostrophe out of my computer's discoverable name. Turning bluetooth on and off and a host of other suggestions. I don't have usb devices as suggested to disconnect. Airdrop works so I can use that but bluetooth should work unless apple says it is not required and should not work.

The phone and computer are only BT supported for tethering.

There is nothing in the iPhones BT stack that would allow you to do this. There is nothing that you would gain by doing so. There are specific apps in the iTunes App Store that use BT to do a few things with the iPhone, such as transfering photos back and forth.

If nothing helped, repair permissions.
Disconnect the iPhone.
On your Mac open Disk Utility located in HD > Applications > Utilities
Select the startup disk on the left then select the First Aid tab.
Then select: Repair Disk Permissions
This process can take a few minutes.
When it's done, restart your Mac and connect the iPhone.
If that doesn't help, reset the PRAM > About NVRAM and PRAM

Have deleted (secure delete) and reinstalled several times. Got it to open once right after download... Usually crashes/hangs upon attempted start-up, then shows as "Application unresponsive". Must be forced to quit.

Do a SMC reset, that hopefully should get you booting and while booting, hold the option/alt and trackpad button down at the same time. Once a row of icons appears and if the disk hasn't ejected via the trackpad method, then press the eject key on the keyboard until it does.
Click the arrow to boot up OS X.

IPhone 4s bluetooth not connecting to macbook pro

My iPhone 4s bluetooth is not connecting to macbook pro. My 3Gs has always worked perfectly fine. Is there a problem with the 4s hardware or iOS 5? Anyone have any ideas?

I'm trying to connect using Bluetooth to use my iPhone as a remote for keynote while on the go (no network to connect to.) maybe it can't be done with the new iPhones but it seems like we should be able to. Thanks for the snarky and super helpful answer though.

External keypad will not connect to MacBook

I have an external Samsonite Comptuer Keypad and it will not connect to my macbook. It is saying to press the key next tothe shift key, but there is not shift key, because it's only a keypad.
If anybody knows what to do..please help!

I am having a similar problem with using an external HD and timemachine for backups. When I first connect the HD with a USB cable timemachine "sees" the drive and allows the backup to start. The backup fails after about 5gb and says that the drive was "disconnected" and then drive is no longer recognized by timemachine and does not show up in Finder. I also did not have an issue until I installed Mt. Lion.

TS1363 iPod Classic 160gb will not connect to Macbook.

My iPod classic will not connect to my macbook. It is recognized by my wall charger, speakers, and FM transmitter in my car. I've had this trouble for some time, but before I attributed to my previous Macbook which had a few other problems. However I just got a new macbook, and it is still not coming up in Finder nor iTunes. Any advice is much appreciated!

What have you tried so far in terms of troubleshooting this issue? Are you plugging the iPod into a high powered USB 2.0 port on the back of your Mac? Have you tried another USB cable just in case?
What happens if you try to reset the device with it still connected to the Mac?

if you can't mount the image, you probably have a corrupt download.

Power on in order.

Macbook.. Only the Macbook.. do restart anything else yet.

No luck reset the Extreme to factory and redo the setup.. this time use all short names, no spaces and pure alphanumeric. Bonus for names <10 characters.
Use passwords with the same rules.. only can be 8-20 characters.. mixed case and numbers.
Try again with the Macbook..

I got a New LG G3 on the 18th of November. It never streamed via Bluetooth properly. it randomly stops playing or crackles or disconnects. I contacted Verizon tech support..The first thing was to give me Number to Lg.. Well it is like this , the phone is just over a month old. Why will yall not replace it. It has never been dropped in any way..It is in an Outer box. From the time I bought it.. I have read many forms on the BLUETOOTH PROBLEMS WITH THE LG G3 ... ONLY WITH VERIZON.. Bring it to your local apple retailer and see if they will fix it. If its still under warrenty or if you have apple care plan it will probably be a free repair.
