I have thousands of pics and videos that are using space on my iPhone 4S and I can't seem to find a way to either delete the photos or turn off the service. I have the latest OS update.
If I turn it off will it still take up memory space?

Welcome to the Apple Community.
If you are reffering to turning off photostream, you can do so and free up some space, it will not affect what is in your camera roll or synced from your computer via iTunes.

You must enable iTunes Match on the new computer. The best way to accomplish what you want to do is to create a new, empty library by launching iTunes while holding down the Option key (Shift on Windows) and choosing "new library." I had some old music I didn't like anymore so I went to delete it but it still shows up in my iTunes library and my phone. I plug in my phone to my laptop and in iTunes, all of the apparently deleted songs are gray text instead of black and they all have a gray, dotted circle next to it and this is really bothering me because all I see is clutter. Same goes for my phone. When "Show All Music" is turned off, I don't see any of the deleted songs which is what I want but when it's turned on, they come back with the iCloud symbol next to it and I don't like that at all. I want ALL of my songs to be PERMANENTLY DELETED meaning that if "Show All Music" is turned on or off, I don't want to see the music in my phone or in my iTunes library.

1. In iTunes, click the Device button in the upper right corner. (If viewing the iTunes Store, click the Library button in the upper-right corner first.)
2. Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.
3. Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
Note: To delete all synced photos, deselect "Sync Photos from" and, when asked, click "Remove photos."
4. Click Apply.

Synced photos cannot be deleted on the iPad. Only photos taken with the iPad and transferred with the Camera Connection Kit can be deleted.
You need to delete the photos in iTunes and sync again.

Hello, I've only had my ipod for a few weeks now. I've finaly figured out how to rip dvds/encode them, etc. During this trial and error period I was putting all kinds of junk in my itunes library.
My question is how to remove videos from my itunes library.

I've been using a dvd ripper and video converter made by Xilisoft. After I import the movie from my pc to itunes video library and ipod, I've noticed that the audio doesn't match up with the video. Its like watching a poorly dubbed kung fu movie. Has anybody used Xilisoft software and had the same problems? If so, what did you do to recify the problem?

OK, I finally figured it out. I still don't have the clear option available. I had to double click on video, highlight, then press delete.
I'm curious why I don't have a clear option like I do in library.
Oh well, at least I can delete old files from my itunes now.

How to delete items from itunes library but not from computer

I was wondering if there is a way to remove items from my itunes library but still keep them on my computer in case I want to put them back in the library later. For instance, I bought the first season of Desperate Housewives, which takes up about 4.5 GB, and since I have the 30 GB ipod and lots of personally ripped DVDs, I'm running out of room. But it seems a waste to trash the files, since I paid for the show. I know I should back up the files to an external source anyway, and I've done that with my purchased music, but I don't have a DVD burner, and I'm not sure how many CDs it would take to back up the show. And I don't want to manually update the ipod because I think it's much easier to just plug it in and let it do its thing. Any suggestions/help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Go to that File(s) and right-Click to Remove; then it will ask you if you want to send it to the Recyle bin or Keep Files on your computer; Say Keep Files on your computer and should be fine.

Nope I am using the same Photo Library, not the camera roll and by the looks of it you don't have your iphone updated to the newst version because I have an extra field in the bottom bar for photostreaming.
When I go in any of the above folders I can remove pictures as well as you can see in the pictures below!?

Albums are not places to store photos, they're more like "labels" you can apply to photos to better organize them. A single image file can be in multiple albums... they are not copies, it's simply been labelled as being in all those albums. So what you're trying to do doesn't make sense, because it's based on incorrect assumptions.
The iPhoto library will always show all photos that you have added to iPhoto.

"Photo Library" is a place where you can access all photos synced to your iphone. They are not duplicate photos. It is simply another place form which to access the smae photos that are in your folders/albums
Just as a book is in the public library and in the fiction section, your pics are in the Photo Library and in your folder. There is only one pic, simply two places from which to access the same pic.
If you want to delete pics synced to you iphone, then deselect them in itunes and sync.

You can't delete it from your purchased list, as that is permanently maintained by the iTunes store. You can, however, prevent it from appearing in your song list by going to Settings>iTunes & App Store and turning off Music under Show All.
