If your cell carrier is not working then you cannot have a hotspot. Did they go out of business?

Settings, general, reset and reset network settings. Clear out your network settings and set personal hotspot again.
also avoid special characters making a password. hashtags or open brackets for example doesn't work too good.

Initially there was no Personal HotSpot appearing on my phone , but i configured it while going in the cellular section and it appeared on the main Setting options with On/Off button and it was Working Fine , (this was mentioned in the many discussions and that fixed my Issue) , but now Suddenly the Option of Personal Hot Spot has disappeared from the Menu , I have gone to cellular , then Cellular Data to on the Personal Hot spot but there only Appears , Cellular Data & MMS
No Personal Hot Spot option is appearing or available.
i have tried following steps to fix the issue as recommended in the Apple Support community blogs, :
Reset Network settings
Hard reset
On/Off the phone
Delete the Extra Profiles.

I understand that you are no longer seeing the option for Personal Hotspot on your iPhone. In this situation, Personal Hotspot may not be configured with your carrier. Please use the information in the attached article as a resource.

Evening all. I'm wondering if anyone knows if using the personal hot spot feature on iPhone 5 with T-Mobile in the UK costs anything. I'm on the full monty plan, unlimited minutes, texts and data. I can find nothing on their web site. The function works but I don't know about additional charges. I've only been with them for a day. I must say the 3G coverage is considerably better than Vodafone's in my area, it's for this reason I ditched VF.

Personal Hot Spot Won't Turn Off

I was using my phone as a personal hot spot and all worked great. Until I wanted to turn the hot spot off. The slider wouldn't move. I had to do a reset to get it to turn off. Anyone else had this issue and if so, how did you rsolve it? I'm on a new iPhone5 with the latest OS. (upgraded the phone last week from a 4 to the 5)

Thanks for both your responses, it always amazes me how fast and reliable this forum is. It's such a saviour, because to be quite honest, and I bet most people on here would agree, that nothing is more distressing then a non-functional mac ... it's just so, what's the word uncharacteristic.
To answer your questions, I have run software update, got all the updates, including firmware ... but they seemed to do nothing. Oddly enough, when I booted my computer today, to view these posts, the fan hasn't come on yet. Sadly enough the only thing I did was uninstall a 3d-surround plugin-program for itunes. Whether it was actually this causing the problem, or whether it took a couple of boots for the firmware updates to fix the issue, I don't know but my macbook is running cool again, with no fans ... w00t! So to be honest I'm not quite sure what fixed it, but I'll tell you one thing, no more bizarre 3rd party apps for me. If the problem comes back I'll post it on here. Thanks again guys for all your support.

Since downloading IOS 7.0 on my iPhone 4 I do not have the ability to connect to wifi. I can't even move the on/off button at all. Also, the "personal hot spot"

Since downloading IOS 7.0 on my iPhone 4, I cannot connect to wifi. The button is greyed out, so I can't even turn it on. I can't download the upgraded version that fixes some of the bugs because you have to be able to connect to the internet to download it. I also noticed that under "Settings", my Bluetooth and Personal Hot Spot settings are constantly roaming with the circle that just keeps going around and around. I've tried everthing (I think). It was directly related to the 7.0 download because it happened right away. Any ideas? I listen to a lot of eBooks when I commute each day and I need to connect to the internet to download the full versions. I miss my books!!

Did you update to iOS 7? If yes you need to update iTunes on your computer to iTunes 11.1
If you are using iTunes 11.0 and iOS 6.x then show the left sidebar in iTunes.
When in iTunes on your computer use the View menu to View Sidebar. The device should show up there when connected.

Connecting to Personal Hot Spot

I have difficulty connecting a new iMac to my Personal Hot Spot (phone or iPad) through my WiFi icon in the menu bar. The device shows up but it will not connect and I'm forced to open Network Settings in the System Preferences, search for the Hot Spot under Networks, then connect. My old iMac would always connect via the menu bar. Is there a setting I am missing?

The problem is not the printer it is the hotspot. Check the information for your printer and see if it can set up and use its own ad hoc WiFi network. If it can you connect your devices to that WiFi hotspot to print.
