HT204023 who is part of my personal hotspot?
On my iPhone I have 3 devices connected to my Personal Hotspot, but I only connected my Mac and my iPad and have no idea what the third device is.
How can I know which specific devices are connected to me?
While devices are connected to Personal Hotspot, the status bar will be blue and will indicate the number of connected users. The maximum number of supported connections varies depending on your carrier or iOS model. You can disconnect users by turning off Personal Hotspot, unplugging your device, or turning off Bluetooth.

I've been using my personal hotspot between my iPhone and iPad, but I don't believe I've changed anything with my phone contract, will I be charged on my next bill?
Depends on whether your carrier supports Personal Hotspot & how/if they charge for this feature. Some carriers include Personal Hotspot as part of your data plan, some require it be provisioned on your account. Contact your carrier & see what their requirements are. The fact that you have the Personal Hotspot setting indicates your carrier supports this feature.

Can I find out who is connected to my Personal Hotspot?
I have turned my Personal Hotspot on. It says that there are 5 connections, yet only 4 people are actually using it. Just interested to see if someone hacked in, or if I'm just a tool
Open Airport Utility and log into your base station.
Then on the Summary window, click on "Wireless Clients".
This will tell you how many people are connected and what ID's they have.

HT204023 Can you set up a personal hotspot between a smartphone and ipad?
How can you set up a personal hot spot between a smartphone and an ipad?
First your smartphone, plan and carrier have to support personal hotspot or tethering. The turn it on and select the network it creates in the iPad's Settings/WiFi.

There is no access to personal hotspot in the general > setting / cellular data on my iPad mini?
Verify that your carrier supports Personal Hotspot for your device and that you have Personal Hotspot enabled on your cellular plan:

HT204023 Personal HotSpot - View Who is Connected
Really Apple, You have NO Way of seeing the users connected, their mac address, hostname or anything relevant?
If I want to disconnect a device I just simply "turn off personal hotspot" - and that's your solution to me wanting to know who is connected or disconnect 1 user?
I understand you are trying to make the iPhone EXTREMELY easy to use, but do us all a favor and add this feature! Here ya go, you can tell Apple directly.

HT204023 Personal hotspot does not appear
my personal hotspot does not appear ever since I updated my iPhone. How do I fix this??
My carrier AT&T DOES support this feature, and I have been a loyal user up until the 4.3.3 update, when it's totally not there anymore. What's going on? I'm seeing many who have this issue!

Hi there, I have a new iPad Wifi +4G that I recently purchased whilst I was overseas in America from an Apple Store. I have a data plan back here in Australia which is a $99 micro sim for 10GB of data for a year which is with Virgin (running on the Optus network).
I have with no success found the personal hotspot setting anywhere, whether it be in settings main menu or settings, general, network. I have tried with the network on and off and have not found it.
I rang Virgin, who somewhat explained that they weren't doing personal hotspot yet, or at all (kinda hard to understand their tech support)...
I hope this isn't a Telstra only feature, as apart from their coverage wouldn't go with them anyway.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

This solves my question, however annoys the **** out of me. Watching the apple keynote for the new iPad they said customers would have personal hotspot built in. It seems that apple has screwed around with their phrasing again, not mentioning it would in fact be carrier based.
Thanks for the help!
Kind regards, Harrison
IMHO your reasoning makes no sense. The iPad has what is required for "personal hotspot" built in. It only makes sense that you would need a plan that supports this built in functionality in order to use it.
When you buy a car advertised to get 40mpg do you get **** because the car dealer never told you that in order to get 40mpg you have to buy gasoline? The car's 40mpg capability is built in but you still need to buy gas to use that functionality. -
So yesterday was the first time I used my iPad's personal hotspot, and it was great. Just click on it and typed in the password on my laptop. This morning while working out my iPad's data plan ran out so I paid another $50 and was good to go. However when I tried the personal hotspot, I get a message to contact my carrier. What is up with that?
Contact your carrier and ask them.

My personal hotspot disapared from settings after i done some aplication im not sure of now. How can i get it back?
you don't need to use iTunes to restore your old phone to factory settings.
Just go into settings on your old iPhone and reset .. it will take it back to factory set-up with the cable showing on the front of the screen. All your content will be permanently erased from the old iPhone. -

I am not able to use the personal hot spot in the ipad 3 the new one .
It should be in Settings > General > Network > Personal Hotspot - if it's not there then have you checked with your carrier to see if they support it on the iPad (and even if they support it on the iPhone they don't necessarily also support it on the iPad) ? It may also be an extra fee/subscription from them, and you could check if there is a carrier update.
