HT204053 can I export my iTunes purchases from one apple account to my iCloud account?  This way I have one id instead of two.

I have two apple id's one for itunes and one for icloud.  Is there a way to turn one off and trasfer the purchases to the other account?

Unfortunately you can not transfer purchases from one apple ID to another.

  • How can I download previous iTunes purchases from older apple id after my Mac is associated with my current one?

I have 4 MacBooks running MtnLion, iPad3, iPhones 2,3gs,4,and 4s,Time Capsule, and Apple TV....
I have 2 Apple IDs [email protected], and [email protected]
Almost all of my media is associated with gmail Apple ID. I want to retrieve my previous purchases, but don't need this Apple id aside from that.
All of my computers and devices are associated with [email protected] id (I've set automatic downloads on all devices for [email protected])
Now itunes will not let me download purchases I made on [email protected] for 60 days.....
I actually wiped my 15" Mac pro, installed MtnLion and set it up with the me@gmail Apple ID (both icloud and itunes) just to get my previous itunes purchases. I downloaded about half, and then got sidetracked. Now when I go into itunes on it and try to download the rest, it says this computer is associated wth another apple id and can't download for 60 days!!!
I tried deauthorizing, but to no end.

Multiple people can indeed use multiple Apple IDs on the same computer in multiple user accounts as long as they do not use iTunes Match, automatic downloads or re-download any past purchases. However, if you'll read the KB article I posted a link to you'll see that for the purposes of those services a computer can only be associated with one Apple ID every 90 days. If the OP associates their friend's computer with their Apple ID and downloads purchases from the purchase history the owner of the computer will be locked out from using iTunes Match, automatic downloads or re-downloading any past purchases.
It's not that the friend will be unable to use iTunes at all, but what the OP wants to do will associate their friend's computer to thier Apple ID for 90 days which may cause the friend some inconvinence.

How can I transfer all iTunes purchases from one apple id to another?

Don't agree. I have two accounts, one for work which I set up years ago and bought a few tracks. I've recently bought iPhone and iPad and created a home ID and wanted to transfer the old purchaces. Everyone says it can't be done, but I've done it.
    1. on the iPhone/iPad change your "store" Apple ID to the one you want ot transfer from.
    2. go into iTune on the device and download the purchaces.
    3. on you PC/Mac change the iTunes login to the same as the device's ID
    4. sync your device
    5. change both ID's back and the purchaces stay on both iTunes and your device.
    Delmar,
The procedure you describe is putting content from two different IDs into a single library, which can readily be done.
However, each item of purchased content will still be tied to the ID from which it was originally purchased, and they will be treated separately for purposes of Cloud, Match, Purchase History, etc.

    Hello luismezar
The easiest way to do that is to move the entire iTunes Folder using an external hard drive. Check out the article below for the steps to move your iTunes library to your new MacBook Air.

How do I save my iTunes library from my windows pc to my iCloud account?

You can't. iCloud does not apply to music. You will need to subscribe to iTunes Match to get music into the cloud but note that this is not a back up service.

  • Can multiple users access apps purchased from another Apple ID account?

I have several iMacs under my control. I need to find a way to download iLife using one Apple ID, so I can have all users on each machine to also have access to the updated iLife suite.
Is it possible for other users to access an app that was purchased from another Apple ID. If one purchases an app, does the machine allow access to all the users?
(I know those two last sentences are redundant, but I want to make sure everyone understands problem).
I've read countless articles on this, and can't seem to catch a break from the problem.

If this is in a school of some type or a corporate learning center with multipple Mac computers you should contact Apple directly and ask them for help in getting a version that can be installed on multiple Mac with out have to down the updates to each computer individually.

  • Why Can't I Remove iTunes Purchases from my Device?

Now I know this didn't used to be an issue on my old iPhone 3GS, but am just not sure if it's to do with iTunes or the iOS.
Basically, on my phone, I have two playlists that I sync - one is all my music videos, the other is songs that I want to listen to at this moment in time and this **** changes regularly. Now the problem I have is that I recently downloaded some music and video content from iTunes using my iPhone, and after clearing the 'purchased' playlist from my phone and syncing to the pc, I still have the songs I purchased. I initially added the new music videos to my video playlist but quickly realised I had duplicates so have had to delete any of the new music videos from the respective playlist. I have purchased both music and videos before and not had this problem, or am I missing something?
    Thanks
    Martin

This happens to me too. I sometimes get duplicate purchased songs, the thing that I do is delete one of the duplicate songs. If you accidently delete the purchased content (videos, songs, etc.), your purchased content will be still saved in iCloud. If you buy purchased content on either the iPhone or on iTunes, it will sometimes produce duplicates. I am not sure why, but all you can do is delete one. This should work.
*If you are having issues completely removing purchased content from iTunes, you would have to highlight the song that you want to delete and hit the delete key. When you hit the delete key for purchased content, a box should appear asking if you want to keep the song or delete to the recycle bin. If you want to delete it from the iTunes library completely (I believe from both your iPhone and iTunes library), click on the delete to the recycle bin. When you go into the recycle bin, you will see your purchased content in the recycle bin. On the other hand, if you just want to delete the purchased content from Just the iTunes library and not the song altogether, you would want to hit keep the file. Which ever option you choose, the purchased content will still remain in iCloud, so if you accidentally hit the wrong button the purchased content is still located in your iCloud.

  • HT204053 I have one apple ID and 2 iCloud accounts...is there a way to consolidate these accounts?

I have one apple ID , but two icloud accounts....not even sure why i have 2 now....might have happened when i got my iPad last year. Is there a way to consolidate the two icloud accounts without losing my contacts or other info?

Each iCloud account has a separate ID.  You can't have two accounts with the same ID.
If you want to consolidate them, choose the device with the account on it that you want to abandon, then save any photo stream photos that you want to keep to your camera roll (unless already there) by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tapping the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow), then tapping Save to Camera Roll.  If you are syncing notes with the account that you want to keep, you'll need to open each of your notes and email them to yourself so you can later copy and paste the text into new notes created in your other account.  Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide your password (if using iOS 7) and choose Keep on My iDevice when prompted.  Then sign into the account you want to merge with and choose Merge when prompted.
You cannot move iCloud email accounts between iCloud accounts so you will have to leave it behind.  You can set email forwarding to the new email account, or add the email account back to your devices  as a secondary account by going to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Add Account>iCoud, signing in to the account and enabling Mail.  Email in this secondary account will only be fetched periodically as push email is only supported in your primary account.

  • Can I have one Apple ID with 2 iCloud accounts?

My husband and I share the same Apple ID.  However, we have separate contacts.  Can we set up 2 different iClouds so that our contacts are not intermingled?
We are getting ready to upgrade and the last time we did our contacts were synced.

You're welcome.  You'll also want to use separate IDs for iMessage and FaceTime or you'll end up getting each other's text messages and FaceTime calls.  Just use your separate iCloud IDs for these services as well.

  • HT204053 I changed my AppleID email address because my old address expired, and I can access it on iTunes, but whenever I try to log into iCloud from my MacBook it won't let me sign in under the new AppleID - the old ID keeps showing up. How do I change t

I changed my AppleID / email address after my old email expired, and now whenever I go to sign into iCloud on my computer it still shows my OLD AppleID in the log-in and it won't let me change it. So I can't sign into iCloud! I can still sign into iTunes though from my iPhone and laptop, but iCloud isn't working anymore, where do I go to update my AppleID in the log-in for iCloud???

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > iTunes & App store, scroll down and tap your ID)
If you are using iMessages or FaceTime, you will also need to log out and into your ID there too.

  • Will iTunes Match work with songs purchased from multiple Apple IDs?

My parents have an iTunes library with about 10,000 songs on it.  It's basically one big mesh of my family's purchases from over the years, using multiple Apple ID's and some of which I don't even recognize and/or remember.  It's become very problematic now that my mother wants me to get a lot of the music "out of the guts of the computer" so she can listen to them on her iPhone and iPad.
I'm assuming iTunes Match is the solution, but I just want to be sure that the "match" part pertains not only to purchases from outside sources, but also purchases from other Apple ID's as well.  I won't have to do the whole "authorize this computer" stuff, right?  Like I said, some of the songs were purchased using old ID's that we don't have access to anymore.  Also, if I sign up my mom for an iTunes Match account, and she wants to play songs that I purchased using my own Apple ID, that's not going to change *my* account or authorizations in any way, is it?

    Hi Rubberbucket,
The music information for iTunes Match is obtained from the user's iTunes music library and does not depend on the Apple ID under which the music was purchased from the iTunes Store. See this article -
