HT204053 can i merge multiple apple id's

I have used two apple ID's over the past few years and I constantly run into issues with updating content on the old one that I never use anymore. I would love to merge all the old content to the new one and then have only the one ongoing.  Anyone know if this is possible?  I cannot find anything about it on the apple sites.
Thanks.

No, it's not currently possible to merge accounts (nor to transfer content from one account to another account).

I have two different accounts and one has my music on it. I just bought an Ipad and cannot sync the music from my older Apple ID... I want to keep all my stuff on my new Apple ID. Is it possible to merge the old ID apps and content to the new ID?

    No.

  • HT204053 Can you merge multiple Apple IDs?

I have somehow collected 3 IDs over the years and want to merge them so I don't keep having to log out and resign in every time I need to update my apps on my iPhone and iPad.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks!

    Apple IDs cannot be merged.

  • HT204053 can you have multiple apple id's for the family but we all use the same iCloud?

Can you have multiple apple id's for the family members but we all us the same iCloud account?

You'll have to have an ID you all share in order to have a shared iCloud account. It would be sensible for each person to have their own ID and their own iCloud account for email and their own data (each would be on their own computer/iOS device or user account on a Mac) and then have a common account which everyone would sign into in System Preferences>Mail, Contacts and Calendars to access shared data.
You don't want to be all using the email in a common account - if people are using email aliases remember these can't be detached from the account and transferred to another one. Having all your emails mixed up together can be somewhat impracticable.

  • HT204053 Can I merge 2 Apple id's?

I appear to have been using 2 Apple ID's. Is there a way of merging them into just 1 account, rather than having to actually delete/close 1 down? As I'm not sure what products, apps and software are associated with which account?

You can't merge different Apple IDs

  • HT204053 Can I merge my apple IDs?

I just got an ipad mini and tried signing in with my "boodahpuhnk" apple ID, but it said it needed to be an e-mail, so i used "[email protected]" which is the mail associated with my "boodahpuhnk" ID. But now when I log in to the itunes store with "[email protected]" it shows that I have $0 in credit, but when I login with "boodahpuhnk" it shows me the $20 in credit that I have. I would love to be able to use that credit to buy apps for my ipad, which is set up with the "[email protected]" ID... how can I do that?
    Thank you!

I have multiple Apple IDs. Is there a way for me to merge them into a single Apple ID?
Apple IDs cannot be merged. You should use your preferred Apple ID from now on, but you can still access your purchased items such as music, movies, or software using your other Apple IDs.

  • HT204053 Can you merge two Apple IDs into one?  It was a common issue caused by the iPhone 4 and has been corrected, but transferring purchases in iTunes is a pain with two IDs.

For a brief time when iPhone 4, iOS 4 came out, many of us ended up with two Apple IDs.  I want to know if anyone can please provide me with simple step-by-step instructions on merging two Apple IDs into one?  It would make transferring purchases on iTunes much easier and reliable.  I realize i desperately need an iOS update, but i had no laptop for over two years!  I'm posting a cry for help on that in another community.  Thank you all.

  • HT204053 Can you have multiple apple ids that access one itune account??

I need to know if I can have multiple Apple Ids attached to one itunes account.  Trying to set facetime up on these separate devices and it keeps failing.  Any help would be appreciated.  I tried to add additional emails, but I all I get is verifying and it never verifies it.

yes you can still sync all the devices on itunes using one master itunes/appleID account.
    Music:
If you want to select specific playlists for your kids, DON'T enable iTunes Match on their devices, otherwise they will get ALL the playlists on their devices (learned that the hard way)
If you have wi-fi synced enabled that should still work.
    Apps:
I manually select which apps they get on their devices using itunes. It only changes when they re-sync.
Don't enable AUTO downloads on their devices for Apps or Music purchases.
Since I also have young kids using these devices:
I have restrictions setup on their devices. I don't allow them to install/delete apps, nor do I allow them to make any account changes on their devices. This way their devices stay in order and get backed up to icloud. I can easily restore their devices if I needed too.
Once in a while I will disable the restrictions so I can update all their apps.
    Hope this helps!

  • Can i merge multiple apple ID's?

I have apps and songs downloaded under several different apple ID's. I'm concerned I won't be able to use iCloud effectively unless I can find a way to use just one Apple ID going forward. Is there any way to merge several Apple ID's into one...or move the downloads from one Apple ID to another?

    Heres' what Apple suggests:
Using the same Apple ID for Store purchases and iCloud (recommended)
Using the same Apple ID for store purchases and iCloud is recommended for most users. To use the same ID, follow these steps:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4895
OK FINE... I'd like to do that, but I can't... because they won't let me merge them.
Then I found another page that suggested I use my e-mail address as my Apple ID. GREAT!!!
So I did that and I entered my [email protected] address... It looked like it worked but then came back with an error, and simply changed it to my gmail address.

  • HT204053 Can I have multiple apple ids associated with one itunes acct?

When using iCloud with multiple devices (my kids phones, computers and mine), syncing causing all sorts of problems like losing contacts & info between devices. Is there any way to create an apple id for each person but still use the same iTunes account?

yes you can still sync all the devices on itunes using one master itunes/appleID account.

  • HT204053 Can I combine multiple apple id to be on my account? ie add my two chikdrens accounts to mine si we can share music and i can see what they download in mine.

Can I combine my two young childrens apple ids with mine so I can share my music and moniter them without having to reset their ipods and loosing all there game info

No, sorry.  Purchases are permanently tied to the AppleID used when making the purchase - they cannot be transferred, merged or shared with any other AppleID.
You would have to login with your AppleID and password, download what he wants on the device, then logout.  He would also need your password for any updates.

  • HT204053 Can I merge two apple IDs?

Problem: My email account was hacked so I had to get a new email and so I thought I need to create a new apple id... so now I have two apple ids; is there any way that I can merge the two or transfer the purchases from one to the other?

You can't do this on your own; if one Apple ID is completely inaccessible, click here and request assistance.

  • HT204053 Can I use multiple apple id on an iphone

I would like to use two different accounts on my iphone5. Is this possible?

You can log out of the currently logged in account by tapping on the id in Settings > iTunes & App Stores and you can then log in with a different account, but if you use iTunes match, automatic downloads or re-download past purchases then you risk tying the iPhone to that account for 90 days : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627

  • HT204053 Can I merge two Apple ID accounts

I have two Apple IDs, just cos I didn't really understand what I was doing when I set the first one up years ago and now I have two. Some purchases are on one and some are on the other. It also gets confusing with iCloud. Is it possible to merge the two accounts without losing any of the purchases or saved data?

It isn't possible to merge them at all.

  • HT204053 Can I merge downloads from two seperate Apple ID's

Can you merge two Apple ID's so the apps purchased on one can be transferred to just one ID?

Nope, media industry would never allow that, unless you paid extra for that ability.
