HT204053 change iPad iCloud account to different account

i have a new iPad.  when first setup I placed the wrong apple ID in the setup, iCloud section.  now that account name is greyed out and will not let me change it.  the reason I need to change the iClound account from one to another is to use the PhotoStream.
on the iPad, in settings, there is an iCloud specfic Settings icon and the Mail, Contacts, Calendars.  I would like to change the account names in the iCloud spefic icon. In the Mail, Contacts, Calendars section the accounts don not automatically get the Photo Stream option.
Any help?
Thanks,  Idaho 51

I need to change the [email protected] imac account  into an other XX@xx I already employ on my mobile devices.
How have i to do? The apple ID seems fixed in the preference panel!

Just log out of iCloud in the System/iCloud preference pane and then log  into the iCloud account you use on the mobile devices.

How do I set up a new iCloud account.  My daughter already had an iPhone, and I purchased one last week, We now share all contact info and calenders. I want to set up my own seperate account so we won't have this problem. My phone won't let me change to my alternate email address from the one that I initially set up. Any suggestions?

  • HT204053 Changing the iCloud account

I've accidentally set up my iCloud on different accounts on my iPhone and Mac. I suspect this is the reason why my iCal on the phone does not sync with my Mac. How can I change them both to the same account (the one on the Mac needs to be changed)?

Thanks! Now I have them both devices under my iTunes store Apple ID. However, I noticed that my storage capacity is only 5 Gb on that account, whereas the other one (a former MobileMe account) had a lot more. Perhaps it will make sense to change all the devices to the Apple ID associated with my me.com account. Can I do this on my iPhone somehow?
The initial problem persists, however. iCal on my iPhone still does not sync with my Mac. I restarted the iPhone but it did not help. What can I do?

  • HT204053 Anyone have issues changing their iCloud account on their ipad?

I read how to change the iCloud account on the iPad but when I go to do it' it only lets me select the password and iPad name. When we got this iPad it was put under my husband's iTunes and iCloud account. Now I have my own iPhone with an iCloud and he has his own iPad and I would like to associate my iPad with my phone's iCloud but keep his iTunes account since that is where we purchase everything.  So can anyone help?
    Thanks!

  • How do I change an iCloud account on an iPad?

My iPhone and iPad use 2 distinct iCloud accounts, as a by product of the mobile me exit. Now I want to sync these 2 devices, so they need to use the same iCloud account. When I start to change the iPad account, I receive a dire warning that all data in iCloud and the iPad will be lost if I proceed.
Is the warning untrue, or am I misreading it, or am i going about this incorrectly? How should one change the iCloud account on an iPad to another existing iCloud account? Thanks for any help anyone can provide.

It does delete it from you iPad but not from the iCloud account.  If you want to migrate the data to a different iCloud account first go to Settings>iCloud on your iPad and turn all synced data to Off, when prompted choose to keep the data on your iPad.  When everything is turned off you can scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  Then set up the other iCloud account on your iPad and turn syncing back on for contacts, calendars, etc. When prompted choose merge to upload the data and merge it with any data on this account.

  • HT4436 We changed the iCloud account on the Mac Book and now we can not use some part of iCloud like Documents, etc on the Mac book to sync to iPad.

    Hi,
We changed the iCloud account on the Mac Book and now we can not use some part of iCloud like Documents, etc on the Mac book to sync to iPad.
It says it is not the principal account.

Firstly, you need to change your details with Apple,  Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > iTunes & App store, scroll down and tap your ID)
If you are using iMessages or FaceTime, you will also need to log out and into your ID there too.

You will have to do more than simply changing settings in your moms account. To set up everything in your own account, go to Settings > iCloud > scroll down and press sign out. From this, check out this link for how to setup iCloud on all of your devices after making a new icloud account on your phone: https://www.apple.com/icloud/setup/
Before you set that up, you will have to make a new iCould account which you can simply do after you sign out of your mom's account on your devices.
    Hope I can help!

  • I want to change my iCloud account on my iphone and ipad but cannot delete original account as I can't remember password or recovery account email. HELP!

I need to change my iCloud account on both my iPhone and iPad (used to be a joint account and not in use anymore) but I cant remember the password to delete the iCloud account on either device OR the rescue email to reset password!!!  While I can ask to reset the password I have no idea where the reset email is going!

If your current account ID is an updated version of this older ID, try the steps in this article in order to delete the existing account: If you're asked for the password to your previous Apple ID when signing out of iCloud.  The last one (change your ID temporarily) will usually work.
If your current account ID is an entirely new ID that was never previously associated with the old email address, contact the Apple account security team for assistance changing the password for the old ID: Apple ID: Contacting Apple for help with Apple ID account security.

  • How do I change my icloud account on my ipad?

I need to change my icloud account on my ipad without losing any data or  photos. How do I do this? At present my ipad is backed up to my ex partners icloud account, can he access my ipad remotely?

Only speaking of backup and not information that you sync/stream to his icloud.
Depending on maliciousness of his intent and determination he/she can know nothing or everything. By everything I mean that he/she can restore his/her ipad from your backup.
In one hour of time he/she would have access to device that would be exact mirror of what you had in your hands at time of backup. With some luck he would know as much as you do looking at your ipad right now. If you using icloud keychain he/she would have access to your credit card numbers.
    Not speaking about backup anymore.
If he/she wants your device can be wiped at any time, as long as he/she is still signed in. He can also enable lost mode on icloud website and then even if you have paperwork that ipad belongs to you, nobody can help you to use ipad. (that is if you use ios 7). Good luck.

  • Question on iCloud accts:  I have my iPhone and iPad on one account, but my Mac is set up on my old mobile me acct.  Can't figure out how to change an iCloud account number on my Mac so I can sync all three.

Question on iCloud accounts:  I have my iPhone and iPad on one iCloud account, but my Mac is on my old Mobile me account.  Can't figure out how to change my iCloud account on my MacBook Pro so all 3 are synced.

First, open System Preferences > MobileMe and log out. Then, open  > About this Mac and see Version. If you see 10.5.x or 10.6.x, see > http://www.apple.com/osx/specs If your Mac is compatible, upgrade to Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and purchase OS X Mountain Lion.
When you have upgraded, go to System Preferences > iCloud and follow its steps

  • How do i change the icloud account on my iphone to a different existing account

I have a business iPhone 5S on which the iTunes account is associated with the Apple ID I signed up for using my business e-mail. I signed in to iCloud with a personal Apple ID account to get some of my personal music onto the device. I have been trying to find out how to change the iCloud account to my business Apple ID. I'd like to be able to switch back and forth if I want. I have read several posts that advise deleting the iCloud account, but I still have personal devices I would like to continue to use with this Apple ID and iCloud account. The extent of the deletion is not addressed.
If I use the delete account under iCloud, does that delete it from the device, or does it delete it permanently? Tried adding my business email to the iCloud account, but it won't let me because it is associated with another Apple ID (duh). Am I stuck here?
    iPhone 5S, iOS 8.1 - just updated.
The only option under iCloud is "Sign Out"

Deleting an iCloud account only deletes it from the Device, not from iCloud.  In iOS 8, the name of this setting changed to "Sign Out" as that is a better reflection of what actually happens.  Your iCloud data remains on the server, available to devices still signed into the account, but the device you sign out of the account on is disconnected from the account, and as a result, the iCloud data from that account is removed from the device.  It will redownload to the device should you sign back into the account.
The only issue you'll run into when you switch between accounts is with my photo stream photos older than 30 days.  When you delete (or sign out of) and account, your photo stream photos are deleted along with the other data from the account in question.  However, unlike other data which remains on the server and can redownload to your device when you sign back in, my photo stream photos only remain in iCloud for 30 days.  When you sign back in, you will only get back my photo stream photos added in the last 30 days (as older photos are no longer in iCloud to redownload).  Like other account data, any my photo stream photos on your other devices signed into the account are unaffected by this.  If you want to keep older my photo stream photos on your device as you change iCloud accounts, save them to your camera roll before deleting (signing out of) the account.
