HT204053 Change of email causing iCloud problem

I have changed my email address for my apple ID and want to change my iCloud ID to the same and keep all my information! Is this possible because it wants to delete all my calendars and contacts??

Welcome to the Apple Community.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.

I can't change my email on iCloud and the email on iCloud is not verified

If the old ID is yours, and if your new ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Firstly, you need to change your details with Apple,  Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account.

Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)

When first registering with iCloud at the Apple store I had to provide a non-Apple email. How do I now change that email on iCloud?

Your iCloud login is an Apple ID, and if you go to http://appleid.apple.com you can change the ID to another non-Apple email address that has never been associated with an Apple ID. You cannot change it to your @icloud.com address.

  • HT204053 How can  i change my email in iCloud

I want to change my email in iCloud

You can not change your primary iCloud me.com email address (See also: "Apple FAQ - Note: @mac.com and @me.com Apple IDs cannot be renamed.") but you could create a new account or create up to three email aliases for your existing account.
Try this to create a new alias for your me.com address:
Open the web interface of iCloud "www.icloud.com" with Safari on your Mac or PC
    Log in
    Open "Mail"
Open "Preferences" (by clicking on the little button in the upper right corner)
    Go to "Accounts"
Click on "Add an alias" (it would be another me.com address, you can not create new mac.com addresses since MobileMe was launched)
    Finished

  • HT204053 How do i change my email on icloud

Please help i cant figure out how to change my email on i cloud

What do you want to change exactly? The email address which is connected to your iCloud account (Gmail, Outlook etc)? If yes, then sign in here (https://appleid.apple.com/) and change your email address. If you want to change your primary @icloud.com address, then I am sorry to tell you that you cannot do that. If you want to add an additional @icloud.com email alias, then sign in on www.icloud.com (only possible on a Mac and PC) via a web browser, open Mail, Preferences and add your preferred alias.

  • Redirecting email to iCloud problem(s)

    Hi everyone,
I find now we have an iPad I pretty much only check our mail on it.  The problem that creates is when we go onto the computer there are 100's of emails to delete.  I figured an iCloud email account would be best so when we deleted the email on one device it would delete off the others (Iphone and Mac).
So I created an @me.com email address, and set up a rule to in Mail on my Mac to redirect any email sent to my old email address to my new @me.com account and then move it to trash.  (it would be a pain to change my email address)
Now I get a 100's of copies of each email sent to me on all devices !!  I read that because I'm redirecting from one mailbox to another in my inbox that is causing a looping problem.
So can anyone tell me a way to accomplish what I'm trying to do.
    In summary :
Redirect emails from my old POP email account to my iCloud account
Delete the email from my old email address inbox afterwards.
    Thanks very much
    Doug

    Thanks for your ideas.
I'm using "Mail" on the mac as my email program.
The rule I set up in Mail was :  If any email to : [email protected] (my regular email address)
Perform the following functions : redirect message to [email protected]
I think the problem is both those mailboxes exist in my inbox.  The reason I'd rather redirect the email than move it to the other account is I'd like to be able to see who the email was originally from.
As far my pop account settings I'm not really sure how to access those.  My email knowledge is very limited (as I'm sure you can see)
    Thanks
    Doug

  • How do I change the Email under iCloud Account Information on my iPhone 5?

I set up my Apple ID and iCloud using [email protected]
But a few days ago, in order to sync my Notes or Messages (I don't remember which), my Macbook said I had to create an iCloud.com e-mail address. So I made one. But the problem is that I my [email protected]'s iCloud account now uses the iCloud e-mail address.
When I go to Settings > iCloud > Account ([email protected]) > Mail > Email ([email protected]), to try to change the Email ack to [email protected] the Email option is grayed out... How come I can't use my own Gmail account w/ my Gmail-set-up Apple ID account... I don't even use the iCloud e-mail address so it's completely useless to have it linked to my iCloud account.
I know I could just set up another account through Settings > Mail in order to view my Gmail in the Mail application... but I like to be consistent and have my Gmail email w/ my Gmail Apple ID. ANYWAY TO FIX THIS?????????

I'm trying to delete the iCloud account on new iPhone 5 so I can change the email address to the new email address I use, but iPhone won't let me delete without turning off Find my iPhone for which it asks me for Apple ID password using that old email!!! Argh!

  • Can I change my email for icloud

Can I change the email associated with iCloud? I can not remember my password and can not find a way to change it. When I do try to change the mail password it tries to change my iCloud password.

You're welcome.  To sync gmail contacts to your phone you need to set up gmail as an exchange account and turn on contacts syncing, as explained here: http://support.google.com/mail/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=138740.  If you are going to sync your contacts with gamil, turn contacts to Off in Settings>iCloud.  Attempting to sync contacts with both gmail and iCloud can create problems.

  • How to change your email on iCloud

How do u change your email address on iCloud?

My understanding is that to change your Primary Email so that it links with your Apple ID (assuming this is what you intend to do), you have to establish it in here first
    https://daw.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/DSAuthWeb.woa/wa/classicLogin?appIdKey= 58ef9db8ff4d201409e7270a68e4408ae1678e1618204c476572a1b5e5fb3518&path&language=U S-EN
    before visiting
    https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/
But sarcaster330 is right.  Apple is currently preventing Apple ID text strings with the @me.com domain.  Only accepting 3rd party domain accounts as Apple IDs.   It is a policy that frankly defies logic/common sense and that I hope Apple will soon overcome.   In other words, many of us are demanding that our Apple ID = our Primary Email which for many of us is now an @me.com account.

  • How do i change the email in iCloud

I received a new iPhone 5s and all went well until I realized that the iCloud had my previous email information. I am now not able to change the email on the iPhone and when I try to delete the account it asks for a password which is associated with the new email and will not allow me to delete the account.
How am I going to change the email on the iPhone?

If the old ID ("email") is yours, and if it is an earlier version of your current ID, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.

  • HT201342 How do I change my email on iCloud?

I need to know how to change my email on iCloud

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
If you mean your Apple ID, then you can only change it if it isn't an iCloud email address, you would do this at My Apple ID .
You can however create aliases for your iCloud email address at iCloud.com > mail.
