HT204053 Changing my Apple/iTunes ID to be same as my iCloud one ?

I have one ID for Itunes purchases which I set up using an old non Apple eMail address I wish to discontinue, and set up  separate iCloud IDs for my wife and I. When I try to change my Apple ID to be the same as my iCloud one it doesn't allow me. It says I cannot us an existing Apple domaine.
I would like to use the iCloud ID I have also as my Apple ID, keeping all the purchases I have already made my old separate ID, and have my wife share my ID for purchases but keep her own iCloud ID for contacts etc.
Is there a way for me to do this.
Alan

I saw advice which said I should use active eMail ID for future purchases and that I can still access old purchased Apps/Music etc.
Can someone advise how this can be done in practice.
Do I have to sign in under old Apople ID regularly to receive updates, and do the old ID Apps appear on the same screen in iTunes as the ones purchased under the new/current ID.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > iTunes & App store, scroll down and tap your ID)
If you are using iMessages or FaceTime, you will also need to log out and into your ID there too.

  • I changed my Apple ID (new email address, same account), but when I try and use my iPad, it is asking me to sign out and delete the account, losing all data.  If I do this, will it all still be there on my new ID? Thanks.

I changed my Apple ID (new email address, same account), via the Apple website on my laptop, but when I try log into ITunes on my iPad, it still has the old ID.  It is greyed out, so I can't change it.  On researching further,  it seems I have to sign out of iTunes and sign back in using new address.  Ok so far, but when I do this, it asks if I want to delete the account and any data on the cloud.  If I do this, and sign in with changed ID, will all the data be there Or will it be lost?  Thanks for any advice.

Sounds like apps purchased from those accounts got synced to the iPod and it is asking to log into that account to update them.
    - Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
    - To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.
What do yo see if yo go to the Updates Section of the App Store app?

  • I have changed my Apple ID from an old email to a new one.  But It keeps coming up with my old email and asking for my old password. How do i stop this from happening and get it onto my new one?

How do you update it? Basically what has happened my password was disabled for "security reasons" on sunday (21/10/12), so i tried to reset it, but for some reason i couldnt get into my old email (probably because i havent used it for 2 years), so i read on here i could swap it to a new email that i currently use (which is what i have done) ive swapped everythin over to it (facetime, iCloud etc) but keeps coming up with old email and asking for password

If you see that pop up you enabled icloud. Whether you want or do not want now to use it irrelevant until you actually disable activation lock.
In order to do that you have to change your apple id back to do that just long enough to sign in and back out. System will ask you to verify, don't.
Just sign in on the prompt you getting and then logout. Once done, change apple id to what you have now and verify. Then decide if you want to
use icloud (who does not want to be able to track their phone if lost or stolen).

  • I changed my Apple ID, now I can't login to iCloud because it still has my old Apple ID and the password no longer works to log me in. How can I get back into iCloud so that I can switch off Find my iPhone so I can make these changes? Thank you.

Well, you're gonna have to recover the password for that Apple ID:

  • I changed my Apple ID email and can't access my iCloud account because it's with my old email and I don't know the password.

I got a new phone and I can't sign into iCloud (it keeps bothering me about it so I wanna just end this). I changed my Apple ID email a while ago and now iCloud won't let me sign in with that email. I do not know my old password for my old email with iCloud. Is there anyway I can just change that email all together without providing a passwod for that stupid old account? I'd love some help because I've been trying to fix it for several hours.

Here's an updated set of instructions you can try:
Make sure you are signed into iMessage and FaceTime with your current ID.  If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.)  Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iDevice and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID).  Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll (unless using iCloud Photo Library).  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out (or Delete Account if you are not running iOS 8) and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password (your data will download back to your device).

  • Had to change my apple id, now having trouble with email on icloud

Had to change my Apple id, now having trouble with email on icloud.
And also receive pop ups that says there is a with problem with photo stream which i can't use, with my operating system

For the ones that give you an option, select the option you want (keep on the Mac or Delete). For the ones that are simply warning you, click on Delete from Mac.
They will all come back when you sign back on, since all you did was change your existing Apple ID to a new email address. It's the same iCloud account, just with a different name.
It's the only way to get your updated ID signed onto iCloud.

i changed my apple id email and when i sign into iCloud on my phone it still comes up with the old email and my password isn't working for it?

Try going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • How do I find out if my iTunes ID is the same as my iCloud password?

How do I find out if my iTunes password is the same as my iCloud password?

    Hello jenny86753092008,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! Your iTunes and iCloud passwords will always be the same unless you have multiple accounts with us. To check to see if you have multiple accounts, you can use this handy Apple ID tool:
    Apple - My Apple ID
    https://iforgot.apple.com/appleid
You can also contact us for assistance to see if you have multiple Apple ID accounts:
If you forgot your Apple ID password - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201487
Make sure that you’re entering the correct Apple ID. In most cases, your Apple ID is also the primary email address of your Apple ID account. If these steps didn't help you change your password, contact Apple Support.
    Cheers,

    Dear Apple,

I can not logout and login from our Apple ITUNES site because Apple has the wrong server address. Originally I signed up with www.belmont.edu but the actual ITUNES server is itunes.belmont.edu

Looks like IIS can do redirects. Perhaps you can have your web support team do a redirect to the Apple supplied url.

  • HT204053 changing your apple id in icloud

I changed my apple id and now I can't change my iCloud id, and can't access iCloud because my apple id is changed.  How do I chang my id in iCloud?
