I lost my phone and used "find my iphone" to track it down. It says 2:16 pm.. I live in Texas. Do you think it means 2:16 pm as of central time, or as of EST, which means 1:16pm in Texas? Thanks!!!
i m also put passcode in my iphone...but i dont know that how i know that my passcode is crack by someone???and same as police is not interested to find out it..

You can only locate, lock or erase your device when it is logged into iCloud and 'Find My Phone' is enabled, additionally the device will need to be switched on and connected to a wifi or cellular network.

I had my iPhone 5c stolen this Tuesday afternoon while I was at the beach. Immediately after I noticed it missing I called the phone and it was off. I called the phone continuously later that night but it remained off. I did not use the Find my iPhone app until the following morning, however.
The phone has said offline for 2 days now. I'm wondering...is it reasonable to assume that eventually the phone will get turned back on and I will get a location? Or do thieves have ways around this? I do have a passcode on my phone. Once the phone is turned on to the locked screen, is it connected to the internet?
I filed a police report but the police seem to be pretty disinterested in helping me recover my phone. I literally got this thing on Monday and had it stolen Tuesday the next day. I was so excited about my new phone so I realize now I was texting like a little girl out there and probably was an easy target. How can I turn off "Find My IPhone" when the phone won't turn off but the screen doesn't work?
My IPhone has water damage so the screen has stopped working, even though the phone is still on. I need to restore the phone to send it back to the company, however when I try to restore it on the computer, it prompts that I need to turn of "Find My IPhone" in order to restore the phone. How can I do this on the computer with out use of the IPhone??

Only if you go looking for it. Find My iPhone will only work if it was activated before the device was lost, the device is powered on, and it has an active internet connection. It cannot be tracked without power.

Obviously, it will only work if you set it up on the device before it was lost, the phone has power and an internet connection. -
Can I get to "find my iPhone" on the iPhone?

Lost my phone it had ios 7.2.0 with pass code and I cloud I'm aware it can be restore on DFU mode but can't use it if they don't have the iCloud user if and password the phones linked with. Question is in this process if the person connects it to his or her wifi to setup up the phone will I be able to track the phone after the restore ? You can do nothing if it's not online. With a passcode and iOS 7.1 (there is no 7.2) the device is uselss because it cannot be erased except by you.

My daughter has been missing for a week and has a serious medical condition. She has an iPhone 4S and when I log into find my iPhone it says online , location services off. Does that mean there is no way to track the phone? Please I'm willing to try anything to get my baby home. Thanks.
Without location services, there's no way the device can be tracked. It's location services that provide the device's location to any apps that need that info, including the Find My iPhone service. Sorry.

You can purchase Lion from the Mac App Store. You will need to meet the requirements for Lion, but the Mac App Store will tell you whether your Mac is capable of running Lion or not. -
I BOUGHT an application from my iphone Application icon and paid 2.99 dollars too, for phone tracker , downloaded sucessfully and its working too but not tracking the phones as mentioned in the description can any one support me??? better from apple!!

If the phone is turned off, doesn't have an internet connection, or has been restored preventing "Find my iPhone" from being able to work, there is no other way to track it.

The app has nothing to do with finding your iphone. it lets you find other devices on your account from your iphone.
DId you set up the built in find my iphone feature on your iphone itself?
If so, go to icloud.com and see if you can find it.
Otherwise it cannot be tracked. -

Try this:
Placing your device into recovery (DFU-Device Firmware Upgrade) mode:
Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the

Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off,
release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the
device. The device should turn on. Note: If you see the battery charge warning,
let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some
charge, and then start with step 2 again.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
When this screen appears you can release the Home button:

Hi. I have recently finished with an emplyer and have backed up my phone and when i go to restore the back up to another phone it is asking me to turn off the "find my iphone" before the restore can start. Pronlem is im no longer in possesion of this phone and can not turn it off.
Any assistance would be greatIt's not referring to your old phone, it's referreing to the one you're trying to restore to. Where did you get the phone you're trying to restore the backup to?
