My son has been playing Dragonvale for several months. He was on level 27 with all the islands and alot of rare dragons. When Apple did the update to the ios6 everything was lost. How can we get the previous game back?

The photos could have gone a couple of different places ...but it is unlikely that they are lost forever. It kind of depends how your Backup was done. With many Computer-based iTunes connections, your Computer Photo App will actually open first when you connect your iPhone and the photo transfer will happen between the iPhone and the App. Assuming that isn't what happened in your case, but you did Backup on iTunes, you could reconnect to iTunes and then click on your iPhone button on the Computer screen ...typically the iTunes Summary screen will show up ...but you can tab-through the various iTunes Screens and find the Photo page. You could check your options and see if you have a Manual Sync setting regarding iTunes to iPhoone ...this would mean you have to select the Photos you want to download to the iPhone during the Sync.

Quit Safari completely and reboot the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.

Hi! I was browsing my facebook account when my iphone 3G restarted on its own. The apple icon appeared and when the "restarting" process was over, I lost all my installed apps, the contents of my phonebook were gone, all text meassages saved were also gone. I upgraded to OS5 yesterday and all my contacts including names, email addresses, and phone numbers have been deleted. When I tried to revert to a previous back up, the only one was the one that was done right before I downloaded the new OS. All other previous backups were gone. In addition, I bought 40.00 worth of extra storage space to back up to iCloud and had to start it over several times before it finally worked...25 hours later!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am MAD that the new OS download procedure deleted EVERYTHING in my contacts. The only thing that remains are my favorited phone numbers but none of them are labeled so I have no idea who anyone is except I sort of know where some people were on the list. This is HORRIBLE and so far I've seen hundreds of these exact kinds of posts all over the Net, not just here on the Apple website. If you are trying to log in using a password you can't remember, try booting off the installation DVD and under Utilities you should see an option to reset password.

I just upgraded to to the iOS 5.1.1 and a few hours later all my contacts disappeared. I tried to restore through iTunes but that did not work. - UPDATE as I am writing this. I got through to Apple Customer Service and because I had selected the option to backup to my computer (iMac 10.5.8) it was actually saving all my contacts to my "address book" app. Since I never used that application I didn't even think to look there. I just re-synced my contacts selecting "all contacts" and I was back in business.

I'm not sure I understand what you're asking, but I'll try to answer! You can either connect to iTunes and set up and activate there, or you can also use the setup assistant to set up your iPhone. As far as carrier activation, you'll have to follow the protocol that your carrier uses. Either switch SIM card, or call the number they use to allow device activation. Is that what you were wanting to know?

I'm using a Western Digital Elements 1TB external hard drive to back up my MacBook Pro.
One day, I noticed that one of my fiels were missing, so I went in to the time machine looked for it (roughly the time period when I created it),
but it wasn't there.
Is it possible to loose files in time machine?
Is there any way to retrieve them?
Please help.

Note: the User's Library is hidden by default. It's also hidden in Time Machine. You have to be in the User's Library in order to restore items from Time Machine.
Under Go in the Menu bar hold down the Option key and select Library.
Scroll down to the 'stickiesdatabase'
If you don't see the file, open Stickies and create a new test sticky. This will create the 'stickiesdatabase' file.
Once you see the file, select the file.
Enter Time Machine.
You should enter in your User's Library showing the file.
Go back in time to when your actual file existed with your data.
Select Restore.

While in the process of deleting a single block of frames from my source clip (from the entire 43 min. video) iMovie froze, I had to force quit, and then found iMove had trashed the entire 43 min. clip. Can this irreplaceable footage be restored? Will this situation repeat? I'm very concerned about trusting my footage to iMovie at this point.

Try deleting iMovie's preference file. It's located in your User (Home) folder Library/Preferences and, for iMovie '09, is named "com.apple.iMovie8.plist". For iMovie '11 it's named "com.apple.iMovieApp.plist".
Close iMovie then drag this file to the Trash, but don't empty Trash just yet. When next opened, iMovie will create a fresh .plist file with the default settings, which you can change if desired in iMovie>Preferences in iMovie's menu. If everything now works OK you can empty the Trash.
Deleting the preference file will not harm your Events or Projects but may fix odd behaviour by iMovie. The file can become corrupted in some circumstances, such as when iMovie quits unexpectedly or is Force Quit (as in your case).
It's not clear from your post whether you were deleting frames from a Project or an Event. If from a project (and the project is no longer visible), the original 43 minute clip may still be in the Event. In Finder, look in your User folder Movies/iMovie Events. Also, check Movies/iMovie Projects. Hopefully, you will find your clip, and possibly your project. If you've stored media on an external drive, the folders will be at the top level of the drive (not in a User/Movies folder).

If they are in your iTunes library on your computer, sync to restore the books to the iPad.
Connect the iPad to the computer and Launch iTunes
If you auto sync, let the process complete
Select your iPad on the left side
Click on the books tab on the right
Click on the Sync Books heading.
Click on each book in the list to select them
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes.
You can download them again in iBooks for free as well - as long as you use the same ID that you used to buy the books. Read this.

You can't recover the password. If you could, I could have as well and the whole purpose of encryption would be moot. This is why it is a good practice to save the original PDF before you secure it.
If the password that you created was a really strong one (other than word 'password' or some other word) I doubt that the password recovery programs would do the work. They are usually good only for fairly simple passwords.
Acrobat X added new way of encryption that is almost impossible to crack and Acrobat XI added the password strength indicator which tells you how good the password that you're entering is.

I regularly download my photos and videos from my iPhone to Aperture for storage.
In my latest download approximately 100 videos and photos did not download successfully - I get a message "unsupported image format".
They were deleted from my phone as the message stated they had downloaded successfully (which they hadn't).
I can retrieve the photos via my Photo Stream but how can I retrieve the lost videos?

I hope, randers4 has more ideas. You could try, if a different video application can play or at least open your videos.
Download QuickTime player 7. It can frequently open videos that the newer QuickTime Player cannot play.
(download here: QuickTime Player 7 for Mac OS X v10.6.3 or later.)
If your video opens in QuickTime 7 check the codecs and resource fork in the View > Show Movie Properties. This panel will show you, if your .mov files are empty QuickTime wrappers with a missing resource fork, or if a video is embedded and what the codec of the video is.
If the wrappers are empty, I'm afraid, your videos are lost. Is the file size large enough of the revealed "2014-08-25 at 16-42-55.MOV" o contain a video file?
