HT204053 How do i create my own icloud account?

My phone is currently associated to my husbands email and icloud account. I would like to create my own.

To migrate your phone to a new iCloud account, start by saving any photo stream photos that you want to keep to your camera roll (unless already there) by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tapping the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward facing arrow), then tapping Save to Camera Roll.  If you are syncing notes with iCloud that you want to keep, you'll need to open each of your notes and email them to yourself so you can later copy and paste the text into new notes created in your new account.  Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account (which only deletes it from this device, not from iCloud; you husban's device won't be effected by this), provide the password to turn off Find My iPhone and choose Keep on My iPhone when prompted .  Then sign back in with a different Apple ID to create your new account and choose Merge to upload your data.
Once you are on your own iCloud account, you can go to icloud.com and delete any data you don't want in your new account.  You'll also have to recreate your notes from the emails you sent earlier.

hi i have had problems with my icloud since i started as i couldnt get my email address and my apple id just to be the same from get go i started off with a mobile me account and now it has changed over to icloud completly i dont no how to change any of my details i am getting married soon so want to change my email address and it would be so much better if i could have the same email for my itunes and everything else any one no how to resolve this

Your ex-MobileMe address is (in both @me.com and @icloud.com versions) your Apple ID and your login. You cannot change this. However you can add up to three 'email aliases' - these are additional addresses (not accounts) which deliver into the same inbox as the main account. (In fact it's a good idea to give out alias addresses, rather than the main address, because if they attract spam you can easily change them.) (New aliases can only be @icloud.com ones; @me.com addresses cannot now be created.)
You should be aware before you start that once you've created an alias you cannot turn that address into a full iCloud account, move it to another account, or reactivate it if you delete it.
    More information on aliases here:

The only alternative is to create a completely new Apple ID (for which you will need a non-Apple email address to become the ID) and open a new iCloud account with that by signing in in System Preferences (or Settings)>iCloud and choosing a new @icloud.com address.
If you do this you can continue to use the old login for iTunes. Or you could change the login to the new ID but you can't transfer purchases from one iTunes account to another.

How do I create a new iCloud account?

You can change the non-Apple emailing address which forms the ID for your iCloud login to another functioning non-Apple address at http://appleid.apple.com so there may be no need to create a new ID.
If you really want to create a new iCloud account you will need to create a new Apple ID at the same address, using as the ID an address which has not been previously associated with an Apple ID. Then you can create a new iCloud account by signing in in System Preferences (or Settings)>iCloud on a Mac or an iOS device.

  • When I got my new iphone 4,  I gave my wife my old iphone. She has her own Apple Id but the icloud on her phone is in my email name account. If I delete it to create her own icloud account, will I loose my stuff on my icloud account?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
When you delete the old account from the phone, the data is only deleted from that device, it is not deleted from the cloud. As such you will not lose the data off your phone either.

  • How do I create 2 separate iCloud accounts

My whole office uses Iphones. Recently my boss shared his icloud calander with me, so I can be updated on his where abouts. Well I don't want them swwing all of my calander. I thought if I make another itunes account, I could create a seperate icloud account also for my own personal use. I looked on the iphone under settings for my icloud, I don't want to delete my current calander, which I need to see my boss's updates. I just want to use the new email address for icloud. Does anyone know how to do this since the email is all grayed out on my icloud?

Sorry Tzadii, I see my previous message was probably not the best suggestion.   You said your boss shared his calendar with you. Sharing is a way to share the same calendar with more people ON DIFFERENT ICLOUD ACCOUNTS. You also sayd yopu boss RECENTLY shared .... how was it before ? Were you with 2 differrent accounts ?   Better reading your message I understand that you have the same iCloud account. There is the problem, you are not sharing the calendars you use the same calendar and the same data and this should have been always the same.
For sure you need to setup a new iCloud account with a new AppleID.
Of course you wish to save the informations you have on your iPhone.
THe problem was already discussed and I found a message about the way to setup a new account and save your date on the iPhone.  Here  https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4448941

  • How can I create a new iCloud account and transfer my apps?

I'm sharing an iCloud and iTunes account and want to have my own. Can I create a new iCloud account and transfer my contact list? If I keep the existing iTunes account with the new iCloud acct, can I reload my apps without purchasing them again? I understand I can create a new iTunes acct afterwards.

OK, so you can create a separate Apple ID for yourself that you use for your Messages, iCloud, Mail, FaceTime, etc. and keep the one that you have your Apps on as your iTunes "Family" Account.
Before you set up your new Apple ID, be sure to delete your iCloud account from your device: Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom and delete the account. Save your Contacts on your phone so you can merge them with your new iCloud account. Your notes, and Photos will still be on your old iCloud account, but if you want to keep any of your photos on your new iCloud account, it would be a good idea to import all of your photos to your computer first, so you can selectively download them to your device. (Note: only your Photo Stream will go away when you delete your iCloud account. Your Camera Roll will stay in place. It's just a good idea to back up that Camera Roll to a computer or to your new iCloud account immediately once you have set it up.
You then would set up a brand new Apple ID for you under Manage your Apple ID: Apple - My Apple ID
Once you get it set up, go into your devices and sign off the following:
Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, click on your "Family" Apple ID and Sign Out
Settings>Facetime, click on your Apple ID and sign out
You will leave your "Familiy" Apple/iTunes ID signed on on the iTunes & App Store, becasuse you willl continue to share your iTunes account with the family. Here is a little more info about using two Apple IDs:
Using your Apple ID for Apple services
Once you have your new ID set up, go back into Messages and FaceTime and sign back in with your new ID
Also, go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your new ID, and be sure to "Merge" your contacts into your new iCloud account.
    Post back with any questions!
    Cheers,

how can i delete my old icloud account from my iphone

Go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • HT204053 How do I delete my existing iCloud account (on ALL my apple devices), and start over from scratch??

How do I delete my existing iCloud account (across ALL my apple devices), and start over from scratch??
(cant seem to get calendars to ever sync right, on my devices, and across to my wifes'....so want to start with a "clean installation")

Settings>icloud, scroll to bottom of screen and tap Delete Account (this disconnects the device from icloud but doesn't delete any data on icloud or on other devices).
If you then want to sign back in using a different ID, do so on the same screen.
I also strongly suggest that you and your wife use different icloud accounts, otherwise all your devices will have the same data on them, same emails, reminders, etc.  Most likely not what you want.

  • How do I sign out of iCloud calendar on my husbands site so he can create his own iCloud account

I have an iCloud account saving my calendar items. I was trying to figure out how to "share" accounts. I signed into calendar iCloud on my husbands home screen and now cannot figure out how to log out of his screen without erasing everything.

That means the Restriction is set that prevents changing accounts. Go to Settings>General>Restrictions and unset it so you can delete the account.
Deleting the account for one device does not effect the account on other devices.

  • How do I create a new iCloud account?

I've tried to find out how to create an iCloud account for my nephew's new iPod touch.  When I look at the instructions online there's always sort of a catch 22.
You need an apple ID, for that you need an emailaddress. I would want that to be a '[email protected]' address. The latter I can't create without the apple ID.  What am I missing?  I read in these support pages that creating new '[email protected]' addresses is possible.
Anyone who can give me easy to understand advice on how to accomplish this? I don't seem to find instructions to get this done.
    Thanks for helping!
    Bart

Can ew also do this on an iPod Touch? When we click Delete Account, we get the message, "If you delete your account, all documents stored in iCloud will be deleted from this iPod Touch."
If we delete the account, will we lose apps data (like my daughter's high score on Temple Run!)?
    Thanks.

  • How can I create a new iCloud account on a preowned phone (with that persons account signed on) without deleting their whole account entirely (on all devices)? Totally confused, please help:-(

My mum has upgraded to the iPhone 5, she has given me her 4S with a new contract etc. the problem is all her contacts are still on here and calendar dates etc . All from her iCloud account. I have my own account but I don't know how to get my phone on that without deleting her iCloud account entirely and from all devices and her new phone. Please help, I'm probably confusing things more but I really need some help

Just delete her iCloud account from (now) your iPhone 4s - doing so will delete it from your phone and your phone only.  It will do nothing to any of her devices with her iCloud account set up on them.
Then login in with your iCloud account login to set up your iCloud account on that iPhone 4S.
If you want to set up the iPhone 4s with a clean slate, just delete her iCloud account, then go into general settings, under the reset tab and select "erase all content and settings".  Then run through the activation and setup dialogues with your own information.

  • HT4759 how do i create a new icloud account

How do i get my Iphoto photo stream to get online - icloud account created but no connection from iphoto\

If you are successfully getting email and syncing contacts, etc. using icloud, then your account is working.  Have you set up photo stream on all your devices/macs?  On device, settings>icloud.  On mac, System Preferences>iCloud.
I think you have to turn it on in iphoto as well.
Once turned on, only new photos on an iphone/iPad are added to Photo Stream, not existing ones.

  • How can I create a new iCloud account for a familiy member having a new iDevice and reuse one of my aliases for it

    Hi there,
I moved into iCloud from the very beginning and started with one iCloud account for me and my family, making use of email aliases for family members. Now the number of personal iDevices grows and I want to create a new and separate iCloud Account for my son. The pity is, that I reserved his full name already as alias address on my initial iCloud account. If I now delete this alias, can I create a new account with the former alias as new primary email address?
Or is there at least any transfer procedure supported for aliases between different accounts?
    Thanks for your help, lauterbachj

Couldn't agree more... the folks who are getting penalized for this are the early adopters of .Mac/iCloud dating from the days when the only way to implement a "family" account was to use aliases. Now all my kids' / my wife's name aliases sit in my account, unable to move. I guess the good news is that if I delete them nobody else will get them, but this seems a pretty poor consolation.
Would it really be so difficult to implement a "move this alias to another iCloud account" option that requires the "sender" and "receiver" to exchange some sort of code to implement the transation in order to prevent fraud?
