How to change my appled-id in iCloud?
Welcome to the Apple Community.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.

To change it on your iPhone you have go to Settings>iCloud and delete the account, then set it up again with your new credentials. When you delete the account from your phone it will delete any data you are syncing with iCloud (such as contacts and calendars) from your phone but it will remain in iCloud. Provided your are signing back into your existing account and not changing to a new account, it will be synced back to your phone when you sign back in.

Hey there,
I have a simple enough question. When I originally signed up with Apple, I was using my Gmail account, so that became my Apple ID. However, I've been slowly migrating off of Gmail as I much prefer my new Apple email address (@me.com). For a whole host of reasons, including my disapproval of Google's latest turns in general, I'd rather move completely to @me.com than stay with Gmail.
So, en bref, how do I go about changing my Apple ID? I'd rather be identified with my new and shiny (and sparkly) Apple email, @me.com, than Gmail.
Is there any way to do that?
I know I could just keep Gmail for the ID but I'd rather really just eventually wean myself off of it.

If you haven't already created a new ID with your Gmail account address, you can simply rename your current iCloud ID to that by going to My Apple ID. Click on Manage your Apple ID and sign in with your Apple ID name and password. Click Edit and enter the new information, then click Save Changes. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, then sign back in with the renamed ID. This deletes the account and any data you are syncing with iCloud from your device, but not from iCloud. Provided you are signing back into the same account, your data will be synced back to your device when you sign back in. Before deleting the account, save your photo stream photos to your camera roll (tap Edit, tap all the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll).
If you already have a new ID, you'll have to migrate your data from the current account to a new account using that ID. To do this, go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, choose Keep on my iDevice when prompted, then sign back in with your Gamail ID, turn on your iCloud data syncing and choose Merge to upload your data to the new account. Before deleting the account email any notes you may be syncing with iCloud to yourself as they cannot be migrated to the new account. If you are syncing iWork documents with iCloud, also go to your iWork app settings and turn off iCloud syncing before deleting the account. Also save your photo stream photos to your camera roll before deleting the account. -

I have just recently decided to end my DSL line and email account with earthlink - the email address on my old Apple id. I successfully changed my Apple id to my new gmail address; however, all of the iCloud accounts keep coming back to the earthlink Apple id which no longer exists, and to the earthlink email address that I plan to delete at the end of this month. How do I resolve this discrepancy? Incidentally, my emails and calendar events seem to be working OK.

I typed in an incorrect e-mail for my apple ID on my phone and don't know how to get in and change it so I can use icloud.
Just had the same problem:
1) go to SETTINGS
2) click on STORE
3) now click APPLE ID
4) 4 options will come up...
5) choose SIGN OUT
6) sign back in with the name you prefer

How to change an apple ID for iCloud only.
Hi,
I am trying to set up my kids iPods before Christmas morning. I want their iPhones to have their own apple ID's for iCloud so we don't sync contacts, etc. I want us to still share an ID for iTunes, which is set up. Here is the question:
Do I just.....Go into iCloud on the iPod and press "delete this account" and set up a new iCloud account?
Is it that simple, or will "deleting this account" delete the iCloud account associated with that apple ID on ALL devices including my IPad and IPhone?
To be clear, I currently have the same apple ID for store and iCloud on all four devices. All I want to do is for two iPods to have new, separate apple ID's for iCloud, without compromising the iCloud account on my iPhone and iPad. I hope I can.....otherwise I have to take all of these devices back lol!

If you have an iCloud account on a device and you would like to have your apple ID changed ....just go to settings>iCloud>delete this account....and then you can make a new iCloud account with a new apple ID for just that device! This way you can have one apple ID shared for iTunes in order to share purchases, and then everyone can have their own iCloud account in order to keep messages, contacts, etc separate and personal. -
Our family now has 7 devices, Ipad, Ipad mini, itouch. I am not sure if I am setting them up correctly to share Icloud and app's but to each have there own device name and apple id for mail, messageing and facetime.

As randers4 says, use separate AppleIDs for iCloud and iMessage accounts. You cannot "share iCloud" and have separate mail, messaging and facetime. To get those, you need to use separate AppleIDs to each create your own iCloud account and your own iMessage account.
You can share apps and other purchased content by having a common AppleID used in the iTunes and App store. -

My mom, two sisters and I all share the same Apple ID. It's been working fine for us until recently. I'm starting to get irritated that we can all read each others' texts, see each others' pictures, share each others' money and download each others' songs. In addition to that, I have all of my mom's contacts in my phone. It also doesn't work when I tried to use 12 Gifts, that new app from Apple. It bases everything off of all of our purchases, not just mine, and gives me things I don't want. I'm really starting to get fed up with all of this.
I have my own Apple ID, I just don't know how to set it as my ID rather than changing the ID for all of us. How can I do this without affecting my mom/sisters? And how should I transfer my information to my new Apple ID once it's set up?
(PS: If it helps, I have an iPhone 4 and a MacBook Pro, my mom has an iPad Mini and an iPhone 5, and my sisters both have the iPod Touch 4G)I think you want to goto Settings>iCloud> Account. That will let you change your apple ID for iCloud, cant help on the 2nd question because Im still trying to get iMessage to work on my iPad.

I have had one email address as my Apple ID for App store, itunes and icloud for all my devices (MacBook pro, iMac, iPhone4 and iPad2). Recently I changed nettwork/internett operators and now I have big problems with my icloud. My old email address and password has been shut down, and I had to create a new adress and password. I successfully change my Apple ID and password for itunes and App store, but I can't change my Apple ID for icloud. I am told that if I want to close down my icloud account on my MacBook Pro data will be lost. (I have stored my documents on icloud too) I keep getting a popup on my screen saying there is a problem with my Apple ID (the old email address) and that I should fill in my password. If I fill in the password for this icloud ID (also my old Apple ID for App store and itunes, I keep getting the message that it is invalid. How do I get into icloud to manage and edit the Apple ID for icloud so that it works on my mac and all the other devices I have?

You can't change your ID if it's a me/mac address, otherwise;
Firstly, you need to change your details with Apple, Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account.
