HT204053 How to run icloud control panel on a users windows 8 desktop running in windows server 2012?
I have a user on a virtual machine (server 2012) and their desktop is basically a windows 8 environment. When I tried to install icloud control panel 3 it fails, stating that it needs windows 8 or 7.
Since it really is windows 8, but icloud doesn't see that, is it possible to fix this, so it can install?
Hi jerelo:
I have successfully installed iCloud Control Panel 3 on a machine running Windows Server 2012 R2. I am not running a VM on the server; rather, the users (about 10) connect via RDC. In any event, you might check out another thread related to Server 2008: https://discussions.apple.com/message/24899308#24899308.
In the thread, a poster suggests modifying the install file to work on Server 2008 R2. I was experiencing the same problem you describe and after the fix detailed in the cited thread, iCloud installed without any problems. Now all users can access it as normal via RDC.
I hope this helps,
JW

I don't want iCloud. How do I get iTunes to stop popping up the panel that asks me if I want to download the iCloud Control Panel? I'm using iTunes 11 on Windows Vista.
Why do you believe iTunes is causing this to occur?
What is the exact wording of the message?
I'm running iTunes on Windows 7 and never gotten that message. -
How To Uninstall iCloud Control Panel for PC?
Hi all,
I'd downloaded and installed 'iCloud Control Panel'. I wasn't impressed by it, I attempted to uninstall it from the "Uninstall a Program" (from Control Panel). Just to find out, would there be any security loophole if we were to uninstall 'iCloud Control Panel'? Would there be any folder related to iCloud in the 'Program' folder within the C Drive that I need to clear/delete?
Also, is icloud.com the place to access the stored data?
Thank you.You have to SIGNOUT first from ICloud. Then you can uninstall it by going to the control panel in Windows and then you have the one which permits to remove program. However, a lot and I mean of lot of stuff is left behind. I have done the operation a few times and I had to use GHOST to bring back my machine to a state before doing those operation. I bought a commercial uninstaller to help and even then there is so much &_?)))&&& left it is a shame. I had to go directly into the Registry to finally get rid of the ICloud Control Panel appearing despite the fact it let to nothing.
I wonder why Apple does not provide a true uninstaller to totally clean the machine. -

You can choose configure the Folder Redirection, Folder Redirection enables you to redirect the location of specific folders within user profiles to a new location, such as

ICloud Control Panel not staying resident
I have installed iCloud Control Panel on 3 different PCs, each running Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium. I got everything working, while my wife was at work, and I wanted to show her how she could snap a picture and it would show up on her PC. I had set it up for her phone on her computer and my phone for both my laptop and desktop. I initially tried using her phone (iPhone 3GS), which has been having peculiar problems (which is an entirely different issue). I took a picture with her phone and after several minutes of nothing, I decided to show her on my phone and computer, since I KNEW that was working. I took a picture with my phone (iPhone 4). Again, nothing popped up on my computer. I finally realized that the iCloud Control Panel was no longer working on my desktop. I then went to my wife's computer and it was no longer working on her desktop. The laptop still had the control panel interface open (as opposed to only showing up in the taskbar at the bottom right of screen.)
Has anyone else experienced iCloud shutting itself down?carrie_dyer wrote:
We are running and exchange server XP Pro and Outlook 2003 is all I have at work. I don't have access to Vista or Windows 7 nor outlook 2007 or 2010. All want to do is transfer my yahoo calendars to icloud calendars. From the searches I did I found I had to download the icloud control panel which I can't do becuase of hte software I am forced to run for work.
Can anyone tell me if there is a way (besides opening each yahoo event and switching it on the iphone to an icloud calendar) to transfer my yahoo calendar to an icloud calendar??
There is not, Vista or Lion are the minimum requirements, use Yahoo's sync services instead. -
Hi all,
I'm running iCloud control panel on Windows Vista Professional SP2 with only three sync options enabled (Contacts, Calendars & Tasks and Photo Stream), but I have the problem that every time I restart the PC I find the "Photo Stream" checkbox unchecked.
Is anyone else experiencing the same problem? Any idea how to fix it?Well, I don't know if this will be a temporary or permanent fix, but I disinstalled and reinstalled iCloud control panel, and now, also after a PC reboot, it keeps the "Photo Stream" checkbox checked.
Let's hope for the future . -
Downloaded icloud control panel to Win 7. Everything seems ok until you "apply" synching at the icloud control panel. Then you get an error message that says "icloud control panel did not install properly". Repairing in Windows control panel as suggested does not help. If you do not try to sync Outlook data (2010) then it seems to work just fine.
I was able to finally stop ITunes from crashing after many days of searching n restarting my computer many times.
a) First I went to this site ->http://forums.techarena.in/guides-tutorials/1119812.htm that showed me how to disable DPE. Please make sure that u have good virus...etc.. protection first before doing this. I have Avast Internet Security. RESTART UR COMPUTER..
b) I then uninstall ITunes by following this site ->http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1923 RESTART UR COMPUTER..
c) I then downloaded a beta version of ITunes. I happen to download beta 7 before the final of 10.5 version came out. Installed it. After installing I click on it n it said somewhere along the line of "this ITune ver. expired" I checked in my Programs n Features n notice that QuickTime was installed w that beta version.
d) Go online n download the final version of ITunes ->http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ ...... After u finish dling install that. After that's done connect your IPod, IPhone...etc... n click on ITunes, it should sync all the way.
I was finally able to sync all thru the steps insteading of it crashing on me midway. Hopefully this will work for you. Good luck !

HT4759 iCloud Control Panel on Windows XP
Are there any workarounds to be able to download & use the iCloud Control Panel on Windows XP?
here is a simple hack to get iCloud control panel to work on Windows XP to give you synced access to Contacts, Calenders, Reminders and Bookmarks. It also can be used to set up your me.com mail. Photostream doesn't work.
I found a solution here, have written it up in clearer english and added details re IMAP support for me.com addresses here:
http://42i.co/s/1ii
In summary:
You need:
Unpacking program e.g. 7-Zip or WinRar
Orca MSI editor
The iCloud setup hack for Windows XP:
Download iCloud Control Panel for Windows- NOTE: old versions that work are still avaliable in my solution: http://42i.co/s/1ii
Open iCloudSetup.exe file with WinRar or 7-Zip and extract.
Navigate to and open the iCloud.msi or iCloud64.msi (for 64bit systems) with Orca.
In the left table select LaunchCondition. Then change in the right table “VersionNT> = 600” to “VersionNT> = 200” and Save.
Run modified iCloud.msi and install.
Run iCloud Control Panel, located in the Windows Control Panel, and set up as you want.
I've had reports that you need to keep the files extracted from the .exe file in the same directory during installaton of the .msi file.

I can't get the iCloud Contacts and Calendar folders to appear in Outlook 2010 using the iCloud Control Panel. Also the datafile share which ends in .aplzod is not created in Outlook. The Contacts and Calendar are sent to iCloud (verified on iCloud.com) but the iCloud folders are not created in Outlook in the Contacts and Calendar navigation panes. I get a message toward the end of the sync process indicating that there was an unspecified error. I'm using the newest version of the iCloud Control Panel, the 32 bit version of Outlook 2010, Windows 7 64 bit, an iPhone 3GS, and the latest version of iTunes. Any ideas how to complete the sync process to the end?
Pretty much the same for me: Windows 7 64-bit, Outlook 2010, iCloud Control Panel 1.0.1, iPhone 3GS. Error report at end of setup process is shown below, and has been emailed. Any help please?

Icloud control panel installeras inte
Jag försöker installera icloud contol panel på min pc, men installationen lyckas inte. Får meddelande "Installer svarar inte". Provat flera gånger. Vad gör jag?
You can hack iCloud control panel to work on Windows XP to give you synced access to Contacts, Calenders, Reminders and Bookmarks. It also can be used to set up your me.com mail.
I found a solution here, have written it up in clearer english and added details re IMAP support for me.com addresses here:
http://xlii.be/s/1ii
In summary:
Requirements:
iTunes 5.10
Unpacking program e.g. 7-Zip or WinRar
Orca MSI editor
The iCloud setup hack for Windows XP:
Download iCloud Control Panel for Windows.

ICloud Control panel installs, but says installation failed
I installed iCloud on my PC about 5 months ago. PC is Win7 32 bit. Worked FINE ... my MS Outlook contacts were copied to my iPad perfectly.
Noticed that in OUTLOOK, my contacts were in the cloud and NOT in Outlook anymore ... but did not care.
Today I auto-archived Outlook, and now my connection to the Cloud is GONE.
Uninstalled and reinstalled iCloud (2.1.1.3) ... but when I run iCloud Control Panel, and CLICK the Outlook mail and contacts button in the control panel, I get an error that says iCloud is not installed correctly ... and that I should go to Windows Program Settings and "Repair" it ... which I do ... but I get the same error over and over... even after a fresh install.
So now my MS Outlook has ZERO contacts, and I cannot see my "me.com" email in Outlook anymore
It WAS working great. Now it does not work at all.
MYSTIFIED.I uninstalled iCloud Control Panel 2.1.1.3 ...
Then INSTALLED version 1.1 - found it on another board ...
http://supportdownload.apple.com/download.info.apple.com/Apple_Support_Area/Appl e_Software_Updates/Mac_OS_X/downloads/041-3559.20120307.Kys3e/iCloudSetup.exe
version 2 has ONE check box for Outlook that includes "mail, contacts, calendar ..."
version 1 has SEPARATE check boxes for each item
I suspect that when I was running v2 connected to my Outlook (and it was running FINE) ... I archived ... and this somehow broke the connection to mail, and the entire app refused to "install correctly"
Interestingly, I could NOT successfully re-install v2, even a FRESH install! (maybe something about the icloud pst?)
Anyway ... v1 installed easily, I selected ONLY Contacts for sync, and it worked. I am not interested in reading my iCould email inside Outlook anyway ... if I really need to see iCloud email on my pc, I can use the iCloud.com website.
I have what I want - sync'd contacts between iPhone, iPad and Outlook.
Now ... I am wondering WHY Apple rolled out v2 ... -
ICloud control panel for Vista
I want to download the ICloud control panel but it appears it only works with Windows 7 or 8?? I have Windows Vista so surely they're must be a way of acquiring it for this OS??
You can download version 2.1.2 to use with Vista SP2 from here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1687.

Help!
We have two iPhones, each with an iCloud account as my wife and I have different contacts (some are the same though), text and e-mail requirements. However, my Win 7 PC will only allow one instance of iCloud Contol Panel to run at any one time, and so when a change is made to Outlook 2010, only one iCloud account is updated. I have got around this with the Calendars by sharing the information, so when I change my calendar it is reflected on her iPhone and iPad. But when I make a change to contacts, they are updated in Outlook, but not on her iPhone or iPad until I exit the iCloud Control Panel with my details and enter hers. It is way too easy then to end up with duplicates and alsort of chaos.
So what is the work around? Does anyone else have this problem?
Thanks in advance.Hi Lars,
In the examples folder there are some examples for simple operator interfaces. In the programmer help file they is a section on creating a teststand engine and the steps involved. Uses these notes and say the LV simple operator interface you can match up the steps and how to achieve them. In the Resource Library under TestStand there are plenty of useful notes, code, presentations to help you on your
What you are trying to achieve is to start the teststand enine running from Labview. Open a sequence file. Once you have that sequence file loaded you can then start to manipulate the properties on that sequence, such as your local boolean.
Hope this gives some pointers
